We discuss how superconductivity works and how a superconductor can have a levitating magnet above it. Specifically, we explain how BCS theory works in conventional superconductors. Where the electrons come together as Cooper pairs. We also briefly highlight the mysteries around unconventional superconductors. BCS theory was discovered by Bardeen, Schrieffer and Cooper, hence the name.

Why this channel has only 1.2 k subscriber? It is worth more than million subscriber. What a great presentation with much detail explanation about the supercondutor .

Bro this is really fascinating.... as a 12th grade student i love this very much.... i was curious when i learnt solid state .... I was intrigued to know how superconductors work.... Now it is really useful for me... Thanks Mate!

Fantastic, realistic and very pedagogical video. You have done a really great job. It is pedagogic because you give chunks of scientific facts connecting them with historical ones and relating them in a coherent and illuminating sequence. It is realistic because you show science how it really is: a sequence of perfectible theories each one shoot down by the reality. And it is fantastic for all that. A good and nice UP&DOWN flavor. CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU!!

Fake it till you never make it is really just begging on the interwebs. Quantum locking is kinda more complicated and has nothing to do with electric flow in metals. Aluminium is one of rhe worst ones to choose and i really didnt watch more than that, why would i waste more of my time?

friend if this quantum lock be invention? (false). The nitrogen freezed Aether nearest magnetic poles inside material...think in this (the material now is magnetic ) AETHER CAN BE PROVED (true). {isso explica porque o imã pode girar em seu eixo magnético...em supercondutividade isso não deveria ocorrer [variação do campo magnético geraria Ed corrent (fomos enganados?)] }. Congratulaitions! like you!

Great question! I think it's super exciting. We'll need to wait for it to be replicated, but part of me thinks: If you were going to make a fake superconductor, you'd use a material that is harder to make. There have been some partially successfull attempts, so I'm hopeful that it might be real. But time will tell!

Thank you. I've tried to understand this before but the internet has been surprisingly unhelpful. This actually breaks it down piece by piece into something I can review at my leisure, instead of having to search for multiple videos in order to piece together how superconductors actually work. A lot of what I've found seems to grow more complicated the more it tries to simplify things.
