I dont think this includes FSBO because there is no listing agent involved. It will be handled through escrow

Also considering this new law allows the homeowner to sue the contractor! So higher contractor insurance rates! So higher liability means contractors rates will go up!

If agents are going to make less money, that’s absolutely horrible. My first year I’m expecting to make around 40,000 and if I made less that would be crazy.

On your example of a $500k sale, the seller should be willing to take $15k less ($485K) because they do not have to pay the buyer's agent the 3% commission. This saves the buyer $15k (f they do not have to pay a buyer's agent anything).

@@investfourmore unless you are a volunteer, I wouldn't expect free work. The amount being paid does not match the amount of work and effort involved. People out there coming home from work dirty, smelly, hurting, exhausted and mentally broken barely and able to survive. It's those poor real estate agents going home fresh as a daisy making thousands of dollars from others hard work are the ones who are apparently getting screwed over though.

I don't see this going well. What a mess. And this is only the start. Sounds like a big DOJ overstep. I wonder if the dual agent thing started all this. I didn't have a problem with it. If I happen to pick the same house (after seeing many listings) that happenend to be listed by an agent working for the same group as my agent...oh well. I didn't feel tricked or ripped off. So now instead of being transparent the commissions will be more hidden.

Yes 100%. I think some of it started with some MLS not allowing non agents to see properties but that was never my mls

Re: Open houses-So you can't even windowshop and educate yourself without signing up with an agent? We did that for months before we infringed upon the time of an agent. Dumb idea.
