You are an amazing person and you deserve all the good things ya have and will have. I've been wanting to share some of the extra money I make (ironwork pays really good but bein a professional drummer seems impossible to me) I've narrowed it down to you and someone else but I always lean toward you. As soon as I get paid I'll hit ya up.
Amazing video, Brandon! It was so good to meet you in Johannesburg. Hopefully we can connect again sometime and spend more time hanging out. It sounds like you've got an interesting story and it's going to be fun to watch your drumming and channel continue to grow.
Thank you guys! Had a blast being able to hang before the Covid breakout haha. I will be back in the States by Mid Year. Would love to come to Canada for a hang sometime
Ha, thanks for the cameo but I am so NOT pissed that you kept practicing for months and months!! My partial hearing loss from your years of drumming in the house has been totally worth it. LOL, love you so much! Your dad and I are forever proud.
Thanks for putting up with it and always letting me get up to my random antics around the house haha can’t wait to finally be closer to you guys again, I really miss you.
WOW. There's so much I wanna say about you but my english is not sufficient enough to get all my thoughts out lol. Anyhow, you're a genius. You've done more until today than I'm probably ever gonna do in my life. You're a total workhorse. I can't even keep up with a girl in the same city and focus on my drumming at the same time. This is inspiring af. My respect for you just went from high to the sky. Congrats on 100k!! Well deserved.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for those kind words man... It looks all nice and cookie cutter when it's compressed into a 18 minute video but there were DEFINITE low points and hardships haha we all go through shit! It's about how you come out on the other side I suppose. I've learned to enjoy the journey. Life is sick. Thanks so much for watching.
thanks to JP Bouvet I've been fortunate enough to follow your journey since his drum camp. You are, in a crazy way, exactly the same as you were back then and simultaneously completely different. Being able to evolve and mature while staying true to yourself is a great accomplishment man, congrats on all of your success
JP definitely played a huge part in it. There's no reason for me to be any different wether i have 100 vs 100k subs. They're numbers on a screen. I love having this audience don't get me wrong but, to let that get to your head is just stupid af. Now if i get to 1 million then i will definitely never reply to your comment ever again because I'd be FAMOUUUUSSS and just waaaaaay toooo busy.... way too busy.
I was just checking different drum channels and somehow stopped at this vid. Every minute it got more interested and now I have to say that was one of the best and most interesting musician "documentaries" ever. Wow, you are such a multi-talented guy!
Great storytelling Brandon. You're really unlike any other drumming channel RU-vid. Although I don't know you personally, I have to admit that I'm proud of you!! Keep it up man!
Brandon, you’re an amazing young man and you’re very much a reason why I took up playing the drums at age 77. I just turned 78 and there’s still a ton to be learned and you help make it FUN‼️so keep on keeping on mano, thank you✌️🌻🇦🇺
This is one of the coolest videos I've ever seen. You've built up some amazing skills in addition to your drumming. namely, your videography, photography, editing and post production skills, as well as the ability to tell great stories and be persuasive. This was a great watch.
The cream rises to the top. 1 million easy by years end. Well, maybe? Love your story. You would love my DW jazz series with the stunning understated natural wood shells.
Brandon, Brandon, Brandon! DUDE! Your story is amazing and the way you laid it all out into such a dope video was easily the best 19 minutes I’ve spent behind my phone screen this week. Can’t wait to see your story continue and hope to link up one day🤘🏻🥁
oh my gosh dude, we have so much in common! I am 12 years old and I love to play the drums and I love rush and dream theatre! Mike portnoy is one of my favorite drummers! I am also running track this year and running cross-country. My mile time PR is 6:00. I also love to skateboard and I have been skateboarding for almost a year now! I just learned how to do a heelflip. I also lived for nine years overseas and just moved back to the United states. This video really inspires me and I look up to you as a person.
DUDE! What an amazing video. The edits, the audio, the drumming, your life story. Incredible job. I hope to keep following your journey to 1M subscribers! You totally deserve it! Thanks for all the amazing content.
I have sent a you tube link of Brandon Scott to my daytime job salespeople, my musician friends and my family members. You sir are a true force of knowledge and just down right good person in this world! You have impressed this 58 year old hard working drummer/day job/ world traveler! Peace from Detroit MI.
Hey Man, Congrats in all your You Tube success, you have earned! You have made us all laughed, and we have also stole some cool drumming ideas from you. Haha keep up the good work. I’m also a living proof that drums can change your life, I came to USA just to study and play music And also met my wife and made many friends all because of drums....Aleluya! Take care Miguel Monroy in Arizona
Omg I thoroughly enjoyed that video. Been following you ever since mikeslessons because I felt like you were super down-to-earth and relatable, and I still watch your videos to this day and am craaazy impressed at how far you (and the quality of your videos) have come. You are an inspiration even if you didn't set out to be and I can't wait to congratulate you for 1 million cuz I know you'll get there!
Brandon- this is an AWESOME video! Your skills in filming & editing continue to amaze us. You make content that captivates. Keep going, brother! We miss you in Cali!
Man I've been watching your stuff since you made a snare drum that one time. Your inventiveness, your artistry, your thirst to improve your life and your craft are values I see mirrored in myself today. Now i'm a small town American studying music in Holland (had to travel) bro bless you.
Hey Brandon i've been following you for a while now and your videos just keep getting better and better, and you motivate me to keep on playing and practicing, even though i don't own a drum kit and the only time i get to play drums is when i rent a music studio. So thanks a lot and keep up the amazing work brother!
Best commentary video I've ever seen. Anyone could watch and enjoy this. You have a beautiful heart and joy in you. Your future child will be so lucky to have the both of you.
I love you Brandon...thanks for changing my life...you are an amazing guy and the greatest man I know, you are my mentor even though we are the same age...keep soaring higher sir and we love you from Ghana... I'm really proud of you...Peace ✌✋pooofff😆
Yo B I have been following your videos for years and have really enjoyed your progress. The work you are putting into video production is worth it, trust me. They are really unique and Fun to watch and I can't say that for any other drum videos out there. So keep being amazing and funny wishing you all the best.
I am from Portugal and also made the cruise ship experience luckily have not drinking at all what I realize is that, if you have no family no kids and no work on land go for it when you return you have to start all over again... Sweet video best of health for you two
Hey , hi wow what a ride man. Fellow drummer here and I have to thank you for sharing your story . I am so happy for you and just watching your videos I can for sure say you deserve only the best. You weren't given anything but worked hard for it but the gem is your wife. I wish you all the best. Rock on you two💗❤💗
Brandon Scott: the absolute KING. Man, you’ve changed my perspective on drums. I’m a senior in college and play gigs at bars on the weekends. It’s SO fun, and it has been in the past 4 years. But it’s 100 times better now that in the past year I’ve gotten to grow my skills through creative challenges that are inspired through your drumming. The dynamics. The pocket. The CLEANLINESS of your style, it’s truly made me focus in on my technique and I can’t thank you enough 🙏
This is so inspiring. I’ve been following your channel for a very long time. I remember when you maybe moved back with your parents. You were rusty on camera. I didn’t think so. But you did repeatedly say it. I’m proud of your dedication. Continue until you can’t.
This must be one of the best videos so far, I mean, the drumstuff is awesome, but there is so much more to drums and life than just the drumming itself! Thanks Brandon, this was a huge inspiration and nice to know more about your path to here.
Been around since somewhat after the JP era, I think - so awesome to see how your drumming and content (and video editing!) has come since then. Thanks for sharing your journey!
You know I started drumming 3 years ago and it has 100% changed my life! I love the drums very much and you my friend are a phenomenal drummer. That is why you have my sub and I look forward to watching this video very much. Thank you for your amazing content and your hard work!
This video has made me emotional to the point I want to cry. This is a dream and what I would think most drummers would dream of. I’m very happy for you to be able to experience this.
Man I’ve been watching your videos since pretty much the start. When you got your dw collectors and did the mike Johnston drum camp. I’ve learnt stacks off your videos and I think it shows in my playing. Your editing skills are so good now. You will make it to a million subs in no time. Nice work brother! Ryan from Tassie
Congratulations to your wife and thank you for this video. This video was very inspiring to me as a drummer and a person, can’t thank you enough for this!
Man, you're superb and so much inspirated .... can't explain. I learned so many stuff from you 'bout drumming, attitude etc ... so grateful. All the best, stay healthy and positive. Regards from Belgrade, Serbia. Zoran
I am late to the channel but I have to say your videos are good drumming eye candy, unique, high quality, educational, and entertaining. Congrats man, the wife story killed me that is incredible.
You are an inspiration! Best story ever heard of a drummer, a real solid drummer, that had traveled the world, played a lot kind of music genre and a real man that follows his love and his passion all over the world! Keep up the good work man! You made my day!
The only one drummer i really follow on RU-vid, cause your way of teaching and comunicate always having an smile on your face, mate! Congrats on your life! Cheers from Spain, If you wanna come visit, here you have a friend and his home! 🤘🏻
I am always amazed at the editing, and just the quality your videos are in general, so much fun to watch, and super underrated, hope we’re here for 500k, 1mil and so on!! Congrats
For the longest of time, I've been uploading covers on RU-vid. Been spending thousands of euros on my drums and really taking financial risks to do it. Skipping weddings, movie nights,... Just so I could practice and get better. The passion I feel for this instrument is something that's hard to put in words and even harder to explain to someone. I feel like you, Brandon, are probably one of the few people who actually knows how I feel and what I go through. I love this video and am so happy you got to where you are today! I hope maybe one day I get an oppertunity like you or achieve something like you have. Even if it's only a small fraction of what you've already reached. But for now, I'm just going to keep working hard, love every minute behind the kit and see where life takes me
I love this comment so much. Thank you for taking the time to share how you feel. I can understand where you’re coming from 100%. My life was consumed with drums from age 14 - 24… I just kept posting videos because I enjoyed it. I wanted to learn new songs and eventually started making lessons, and then vlogs, and now I have no idea what my channel is about but I am so proud of what it’s grown into. You learn so much from creating videos and youtube such a beautiful outlet to share it with the world, regardless of how many people see. I was thinking about this the other day but, while I love having this subscriber count, you almost begin to feel obligated to make certain videos, or make weekly videos (even if it’s a stupid ass video) to please the masses. I hate this and I’m trying SO hard to continue not to care, and just post what I want, when I want. It’s very easy to burn out and I NEVER wanted that to happen for me. Keep on playing, and keep enjoying it. Don’t let anything come between that passion. Having a hobby like this is such a beautiful thing. Enjoy the ups and downs. When you feel inspired, create. When you don’t, don’t. It will save you! Thanks again for the comment.
@@BrandonScottDrums I can fully relate! Social media in general is such a huge part of drumming nowadays. I recently spent four months uploading new reels every single week. Twice a week. I'd go to work, help with the kid and at night spend all mu evenings working out drumparts for songs to then quickly record, edit and upload it on Instagram and TikTok. Hoping something would come of it. And sure, I got better at improvising. But no endorsements, no one who's blown away. Nothing. Just a bunch of views and likes. And after those months, I just left it for what it was. I am now close to recording 8 new drumcovers for RU-vid but already know those songs aren't going to change my life. But I love my new covers. Haven't posted in weeks and don't feel the need to either. But I still play 2hrs a day and love it. It's sometimes sickening to know how much money I've spent on the studio, from the lights to the mixing board to the 14 (!) mics I use to all my 13 (!) snares. To get 100 views per video. If I'm lucky. Bless the simple souls like me 🤣🤣
Congrats on your RU-vid subs, Brandon! And I loved hearing about your drumming journey. ps Did anyone else rewind and pause and play several times to see where his wife got accepted? LOL!🤣
bro what an inspirational story!! the way things flowed (or sometimes, didn't) was exactly what/how it needed to be...happy for you and your wife and looking forward to your next chapters 😎
Dude! Congrats, but more importantly, Thank You! I love watching your posts. You deserve an Emmy for your talented content. Keep it up, you’ll be getting a “1-Million view award” in no time!
This a great story right here. Proves that music has its ups and downs along the way yet perseverance and passion for the craft gets you going. Keep on going Brandon! I'm a huge fan from the Philippines and I keep on visiting your lessons. It helped me alot! You'll undoubtedly reach a million subs. Keep the videos and content coming!
I really didn't know your story. I saw some of your videos randomly without using the search engine. But watching this video one understands the effort it takes to make them, as you say, you had to learn about cameras, lights, colors, and obviously keep practicing playing drums. keep going so you are on a very good path, greetings from Argentina
What a great video Brandon. Thanks for sharing that part of your life. I'm subscribed to probably a hundred different drumming-related channels but this is probably my favourite of all. Your videos are next-level creative.
