What drives the cost of food before it hits grocery store shelves? Every aspect of the supply chain. Climate change is contributing to rising food prices as floods and droughts affect farming and transportation.
Dr. Kelleen Wiseman, who teaches food and resource economics at UBC, explains how the food supply chain impacts grocery store prices. She looks at innovations in agriculture, such as wind energy, sensors and drones, which can help, and talks about what consumers and governments can do to help promote more climate-resilient supply chains. Learn how sustainable agriculture is connected to food costs.
