@@4598-c9l They do tho... Especially in England. If you just googled before starting argue for no reason you would have found out that term is still in use sometimes.
Without Galacticos there would be no CR7, Curtois or Benzema on Madrid. That era built the status of “dream club” for Madrid. This not only made them the most profitable club in the world, but continues to attract the most of the best talent in the world.
Claude Makelele "The original N'golo Kante type of player" Guti "Pass master" Iker Casillas "One of the greatest goalkeepers" Raul Gonzalez "One of the best strikers of his generation" Clarence Seedorf "One of the greatest midfielders" Vicente del Bosque "One of the greatest managers" All these names are big names in football Bronco !! u gotta react to em, and i'm saying this even as a barca fan
15:28 That 2005/06 Real Zaragoza team had some interesting names such as Diego Milito, Gerard Piqué, Pablo Aimar "Messi's Idol", Ewerthon etc... so yeah they had em a squad that year, they made it to the copa del rey final & finished top 10 in la liga I guess And historically they've won the 1995 UEFA CUP WINNERS CUP the 2nd most prestigious european title back in the day only behind the CL
@@the_real_idoit8166 he was looking for commercial success more than the trophy side.. That made real Madrid being one of the most loved cause they had more superstars that people liked
I see so many similarities with PSG nowadays man… not give attention for the defense players and only buy attack players, sack one of the best managers in the game ( Tuchel ), paying attention only for the commercial side of football, the only difference is PSG doesn’t learn with the mistakes 😂
It was a success the main goal was now trophy it was Financial stability real Madrid is the most financially stable club in the world thanks to galacticos era
The real galacticos was 2012 till 2018 with Ronaldo Benzema Bale Higuain Di Maria Ozil Isco modric kroos casemiro alonso khedira Marcelo Ramos Pépé Varane carvajal casiliass
Real Madrid were dominating Europe and Spain before the galactico era and when they started the galactico era . They only win one champions league title and it was early on due to that fact that the team was based on the team Before. Also the second galactico era started in 2009 to 2017 and it took them time to win champions league. City will probably win it sooner or later if they have pep or good coach at the helm . City of a lot closer to winning the champions league than psg
@@Katkayz I think that they dominated because they were balanced, as more galacticos came.. the balance was gone. Also, it was not sure we'd keep dominating because a new era of football was coming. The galacticos got older, if R9 didn't have that weight disease where he can't digest food... then we could have won more CL then too. City bottled for a decade, longer period than galacticos & galacticos still won the CL.
@@decode3667 Real Madrid were great pre galactico era . Thus when they started buying ‘stars’ they continued winning in the beginning. City was trash before they started buying players . They were a mid table team now they are force in England and maybe Europe .
I remember when Real got smashed off Monaco, Fernando Morientes a former Real Madrid striker who got sold to Monaco after Real signed Ronaldo was outstanding for Monaco that season and was a key player in getting them to the Champions League final.
A lot of players, especially young star talents, feel often feel overhyped because of the price tags that teams put on them. This is in connection to the wealthy billionaires buying out clubs for brand image and spending on the club. Young superstar hype = positive image = good advertising = sales. However, as we have seen, it doesn't necessarily translate to performance. You can actually encounter some on the internet with the take that football primary focus isn't the game anymore, but a sports themed advertisement. I agree only to an extent with that so far, but we have definitely been seeing more overpriced, overhyped players in recent times.
Players today are extremely overpriced and overrated, look at a bum like mudryk costing over 100m euros and not being worth 10% of that, or an average striker like nunez costing 100m, absolutely insane
At the time it didn't even seem that crazy to me. It was the biggest club in the world after all and part the team was still from their own academy. It was rumoured that the transfer money of Beckham was earned back in the same year with shirt sales and he still performed well. Also players like Makelele and Carlos were bargains in hindsight. They did splash the cash with Zidane and Figo and Ronaldo somewhat, but those were exceptional stars. How about a Raúl reaction? He has the most matches of all time for Real Madrid and was a big part in the Galactico's and is ranked 3rd after Ronaldo and Benzema as goalscorer.
8:35 what’s happening is that back then football was so different the number 10 was a very prominent position and players were more willing to showboat but now football is about getting fast players that only care about stat padding because that’s what football has turned to thanks to social media
Papa Flo is the best club president. He came in and solve the club's finances with a revolutionary strategy and made the club the most valuable in the world. In football terms not as successful although they had it at the beginning. Compared to what teams like psg, Chelsea and even Barça among others have done recently, it was far more successful. And now look at what he's done the past decade. One of the best club president if not the very best ever along side Santiago Bernabeu. İmagine if Real Madrid had won even half of those trophies 😮. They would have been far far ahead of where they are now which is still the greatest club in history.
Perez definitely learned from this failure tho, 5 champions leagues in the last decade and a good base of players for this next one shows he understands it’s not about the big names anymore
HALA MADRID! The Galacticos era was so much more infulential on football as a whole in many other different ways, im proud to say that i am a madridista, tbh most of us madrid fans IN spain dont even like florentino, we dont like old people in power, they are past their reasonable thinking age. And also, you really need to know who some guys are, Makélélé is basically Kante but 10x better and much more legendary, he is the one who gave CDMs (like me) an inspiration, Guti and Raúl are the pinacle of the spanish style of football (very technical, elegant, and high IQ based), out of all of them, i recommend that you react to Raúl, he is a legend here in Spain, and he is incredibly underrated worldwide, Raúl is one of the best Real Madrid players of all time, he has the most appearances in Real Madrid, he is the 3rd all-time goalscorer of Madrid (behind Ronaldo and Karim) and is the sixth highest goalscorer in LaLiga history, and imo, he was robbed of the 2001 Ballon d'Or (which was won by Michael Owen), he placed second place that year and i consider that his prime, so you should definitely react to him
List of Raymar Caps in this video: -No La Liga title in half a decade -Real didn’t come back against Leverkusen, they were 1-0 up -Del Bosque didn’t break the drought, Jupp Heynckes was the manager for the 98 Champions League title -Mentions Modric as of the most important defensive pieces (?)
The first galactico is somewhat similar to the current psg . While the second galactico era maybe similar to current mancity , or rather mancity copy their playbook . It's failed for the following reasons: 1)Perez huge involvement into how the management of the team . As a club executive shouldn't be involved in the coaching aspect of the game . Your job is ensure the club is well financially managed, the coach is involved with sporting side (buying and selling of players ) plus who plays . Perez would interfere with the coaching aspect of the game . 2) the players they bought were older and on their decline . Zidane , Figo , Ronaldo were all past 28 and in their twilight years. Compare to the galactico era , Ronaldo , bale , Benzema , and co most were below 24, in their prime or about to hit their prime . 2) the players they bought were mostly of it all Attacking players and not a balanced team . Figo , Zindane, Ronaldo, Owen, Beckham and later Robinho were all attacking players . In the second galactico, the players bought they brought balance to the team not all were attacking. Cr7, bale , Benzema, Kaka , Alonso , modric , Kroos , Casemiro they brought depth . They didn't focus on attack . Psg take notes 3 ) Perez got rid of the players that made Real Madrid . They got rid of Fernando redondo ( Real's best defensive midfielder ever ) in 2000 after three champions league. They got rid of the Makalele one of the best defensive midfielders ever in 2003 after the season ended . They never replaced these great players. 4) the terminated the captain and one of the best Spanish central defender in Fernando heirro in 2003 , they instead brought in a very young inexperienced center back in pavon to take over . It was huge mess 5) they got rid of the coach Vicente del bosque ( the man who helped the team win champions league in 2000 and 2002) he was fired in 2003 a day after winning the la liga . Luis figo called the galactico policy a circus . It was a joke and psg are trying to do the same. It's seems Peres and Real Madrid learnt a painful lesson...
I think he's talking about transfer fees when mentioning these large amounts in today's money. That is different than the salary the player gets. Transfer fee is just the money the club paid to get him out of contract
I’m sure this guy would kiss David Beckham’s ass if he appeared out of nowhere, and Beckham’s signing was the worst move Real Madrid could’ve made in terms of football. Figo, Zidane and Ronaldo definitely made sense, but not Beckham. Shouldn’t this guy be waving his fingers like he does and criticizing the NY Yankees for the exact same thing? Real Madrid have had a lot more to show for the last 25 years than the friggin Yankees did.
To set the curent price only based by inflation is wrong. The football market is way more inflated than the economic one. I think the prices from then should be at least 2-2.5x bigger to be correct in the curent football market
Real Madrid didn’t force Luis Figo to sign for them they had a contract that Figo read and signed he knew what he was signing Edit:even tho Figo tries to play the victim not even Barca fans believe him and call him out on his bullshit Also might I add Figo had the option to not go to Real but he would have to compensate real for breaking their deal
Ac Milan and other clubs had an all star line up too bronco u should have been watching football earlier 😂 we still achieved the name galacticos for life nobody can take that from us
Real Madrid pioneered the idea of investing absurdly amounts of money on building a team full with egos who can't play together. Real Madrid completely reversed that strategy and now it focuses on raising young talented players to become superstars. Yet still, despite the galaticos model being a failure, teams are still blindly going for it, with equally disastrous results... Chelsea, PSG, ManCity...
Well because perez was the first football executive would directly control the team . Many teams like psg , Chelsea and city have copied this . However perez had largely abandoned this because this had led to player power. City as well have done the same . Chelsea go back and forth on this issue . Psg have blindly continued on this foolish quest
@@nenu how many football executives did you and most people know before perez ? He is the one that introduced player power. Players would directly talk to the executive/ owner and over rule the coach . Before perez executives were in the shadows, they only managed the financial / business side of the game . The coach would handle the team, who plays and who gets bought and sold .
Pro tip: If you're gonna refer to a football player by just one name only. Then, you've got to use just their last name, rather than only their first name. i.e. Nobody refers to Zidane, as just "Zinedine" (except maybe his mother). To footy fans, It's either "Zidane", "Zinedine Zidane, or "Zizou." Just cluing you in, because it sounds so weird to football fans hearing you keep calling these footballers by just their first names only. Like when you call "De Bruyne", just "Kevin." It just sounds weird! You don't want people to think you just started watching football yesterday, do you? Because, that's how it sounds, when you do this. 🤣
People call cr7 Christiano , Real Madrid call their former keeper saint iker . That’s his first name . Call a players either by their first or last name
@@Katkayz Lol! ... You don't prove a point by highlighting "exceptions to the rule." In doing so, you only reinforce the original proposition even stronger. 🤣
@@shadowbanbaitaccount7874 you one you who failed to print your point . You kept yapping and saying they where execs who didn’t what perez did , who were as popular as he was and you couldn’t show me evidence . We are here talk facts , not BS made by low life Liars trying to rewrite history. Again show the receipts to back your lies . You can’t and you won’t . Show me a more popular exec in football and Perez before 2000. You can’t and won’t . So stop lying to people about things you don’t know . And stop rewriting history.
