report from 2022: Dropout is still going strong! They've pared down to the shows people were watching the most and it ended up being d&d liveplay and gameshows, which is exactly what I wanted! I want MORE though so go give them money about it.

Dropout is so worth it. There is so much to explore and deep dive. Ally and grant's student loan show is fucking *wild* , game changer, um actually, all of deminsion 20, and then there's a shit ton more. No bleeps, some extras, full episodes. Seriously so much to love. And I WANT to support everyone at college humor and keep em going and creating. Best purchase I have made in ages.

RU-vid has been a bit of a shithole for content creators for a while now (and is getting worse), so I totally understand this move. And if it means more of the crazy, higher quality content we love, I'm all for it! Edit: And then I find out I'm geo-blocked? (Canada) Please look into this!

Going back to this and compare it to how Watcher announces their new platform, it really highlights how good of an announcement video this is. First, they show you how big their team and production is, to show that CollegeHumor is not "just a YT channel". Then they explained the cost reasoning, why YT and traditional TV doesn't work, and show Dropout as a solution. Sam showed you that they will be making bigger and better shows, with large ensemble cast, and assure you that free content would still be available. And most importantly, he acknowledges the sellout comments, and that not everyone can afford it, and assure you that it will be worth it. That is almost the most important point, and what Watcher got wrong about - among other things.

Huh. This is... actually a good run down of why internet content is how it is. You need to be popular, need resources, need to reach everyone. Tv has too many censors and restriction and offline sites have a ton of expenses only branding can pay for. Wanna be on RU-vid? Can't make money unless you're more inoffensive than wonderbread. Everyone's suffered from the way ad revenue influences content creation over the past few years, and seeing some of my favorite faces such as Jake, Amir, Sam and Josh coming back is a dream (yes, I know about Headgum). I think you approached this as well as you could have, and I'm looking forward to this new side of CH! Just try not to work the regular staff into the ground...

A year later, I am hearing College Humor lost over a hundred employees... and I am worried for Dropout because of it. I really am a huge fan of the site and now that Sam owns it I hope it can recover from this loss... I have been subbed for the site since this video was released and I haven't regretted it once. I really love these guys.

This is actually an excellently made advertisement. I appreciate the tact and openness with which this service was introduced. I'll be honest, the risk of people thinking y'all are sellouts and college humor is hiding behind a paywall was very high with how the internet is. But by explaining the reasoning behind the service, and outlining pros for EVERYONE, I am definitely super open for this service than I probably would've been if any other channel was advertising it. Hope to see more from y'all and hope to subscribe soon.

Honestly, this is why I respect yall so much. You came out and said the truth, that you need money to keep doing what you want to do. RU-vid is great and all for what it is but sometimes it aint enough. And you have reached the case of it not being enough. Looking at that showreel at the end, it's amazing to see how much Dropout has improved since just 5 years ago! The style of comedy has become much more natural and unique compared to the more typical sketch stuff they used to do on CH. Not that I wasn't a fan then :)

You guys I am so excited about this. As much as I enjoy the CH content coming out on this channel, a BIG part of me has always missed that old, uncensored CollegeHumor content. With all these new shows and cast members returning (AND PRECIOUS FRICKIN PLUM) this definitely seems worth our while.

Jmo but you might want to mention the cost at the end of the video as it's super cheap. Almost any pay channel is at least $10 so $3.99 is a great deal. I've been binge watching Jake and Amir. I first found out about this channel when Pete Holmes had a show and found the Badman videos. It's so hard to find good comedy. I'm a huge fan

In my opinion, the best thing about Dropout is that we see a lot more of Sam, who is great both behind and in front of the camera.

I’ll be honest with y’all, I’d really like to support CH through this service. Hope it’s cheap enough for me to do so. Been a fan since I was 13, turning 21 this yr. Its been a wild, and entertaining ride. CH continues to be one of my favourite RU-vid comedy channels.

Just purchased today and am navigating around. College Humor is my favorite source for comedy. With Chappelle Show and Key and Peele gone there aren't many places for consistently good comedy. Hope you guys are around for many more years
