Dario Nardi and I discuss his most underrated work: 8 Keys to Self-Leadership. MBTI is all about the "so what?" What do I do now that I know my type?"
Well, Dario's 195-page book answers those questions so exquisitely. Topics we discuss:
-Why did he write it?
-Why did the book not sell as well as some of your others?
-What was lacking in the MBTI world at the time?
-How do you describe the functions?
-What does it mean to develop an advanced use of a function?
-What are some examples from the book?
-Se, Fi, and Ni

I think to really grow by doing this, you have to appreciate the functions other people have and understand how each one is useful and important to mankind. Yes, Im talking about Ne too! ! Great interview with Dario. :-)

thank you! all functions are relevant and useful as much as Ni types hate Si and vice versa 😝

Great interview! "Happy about being sad" I totally understand this.

These are the kind of conversations needed to get typology out of the "astrology-like" association.

Agreed! Glad you see that too. Appreciate your input. This is one of those books that is wholly actionable and never delves into the astrology space

Question- Is it more difficult to type if the type has developed their cognitive functions?
@GhostofJung
@GhostofJung 2 года назад
Probably so. I think people have a hard time typing Carl Jung for this exact reason -- he was so self aware that he didn't clearly overuse any of his functions so as to make it obvious what his type was 😂
@elypelowski5670
@elypelowski5670 2 года назад
Yes. I believe so. People that are highly cognitively aware will adapt to the person(s) they are interacting with to meet the expectations of the other person cognitive functions.

Aaaand another book to read! 👏👏 What a great interview! So interesting! (Not done yet) Edit: I really NEED to brush up on Se-ing! 😂😁 Edit 2: You guys are awesome. I could listen to you talk for hours!❤️

During the time you guys are talking of Se and the "seize the moment" attitude, I laughed as during my highschool years, one particular teacher always pointedly made that comment to me, yet I thought I did! Heck was I way off when I started learning about cognitive functions many years later 😂 Even now, my partner being an Se user, that conflict becomes exacerbated when I'm trying on different hats and he's giving me the "stop engaging in the shit that's not concrete!" I'm not subscribing to it, I'm playing with it 🙄😂 I'm late to the party on viewership, but cheers Joe and Dario 🙂

Most INTJ's cannot and my lifetime of knowing them proves this. They are incapable of apologizing. Try it. Like they'll do a fake apology and then Te/lawyer their way into some fake reality where what they did is excusable somehow, but the logic's faulty and all messed up with that fake stuff. Try to get a *real* apology out of most INTJ's for something they did wrong. They'll just reframe it. They can't be real. They can't be honest. It's awful. The only reasons they seem to apologize are to make things okay in regard to their own social standing, and to "move past" what is wrong. But that real apology. That honest apology. That apology with actual integrity in it. That's the holy grail for an INTJ in terms of self development. Actually try it if you're an INTJ. Actually realize when you've wronged someone else and actually apologize until you can do an honest apology. Then you're ahead of the game not just in terms of INTJ's, but probably in terms of at least 8 of the personality types if you can do it well.

@@MS-zc2jh well you have bravery saying it to a person saying what I've said. I too am very likely to have an sj temperament, and as I have discovered more about people and Ni in particular I now look at this situation with a lot more sympathy. I think I can see why it happens, and I'm sorry the world plays the tricks that it does on us all.
@maridontable

@@MS-zc2jh I think the root issue makes it very hard, to be honest. I think people with Ni in the first slot miss things, and it is very tough for them to see it. I don't think it is arrogance though, or an intent to hurt others, but I bet it could form into that due to what the issue is. Here's a short video about it, it's about 6 minutes. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Sw2NvcY1leY.html Perhaps the solution is more to develop Si than to develop anything in regard to feeling, because it will allow feeling to do the parts that Ni misses.

The accuracy honestly as an INTJ I really only apologize to move along a situation and hardly EVER is it ginuine it's purposeful and I can honestly say that as far back as I can remember
