Small elaboration on 5:13 , the man hole wasn't exposed per say, but the extreme speed and downforce of the F1 car essentially made it pop out, so they have filled them in with concrete
Thank you so much for downloading this informative video. There many people that are complaining and criticizing everything for months about that circuit. I like the way you explained many factors that the others bloggers and RU-vidrs didn’t do. It looks like it was/ is a challenge to run there. The way that was built, seems that they used the last on technology. And the world is heading in that direction. 🎉🎉🎉🎉👍👍👍👍 Keep it up
The force the F1 car created, sucking up the manhole/surround actually produced a dent in the ground in Port-aux-Français, Kerguelen, French Southern Territories, on the opposite side of the planet. True fact.
I saw the process. Kind of insane what they put together but it was a terrible pain in the ass to navigate around here. That on top of normal construction was a nightmare.
I visited while it was being built and honestly didn't notice any real difference to years before once you factor out the strip which none of you locals use. There was a bit of a hang up on Sands at busy times but from an outsiders point of view it was business as usual. My local friends sure loved to moan about it though. I think that's the same everywhere. I can see the traffic in my city gradually getting more congested and I like to moan about it but visitors probably wouldn't notice.
Vegas never stops . It changes , it grows , constantly . The race will improve year after year . Its only the beginning . I remember when it was great to stay at the Stardust .
Ayyyy thank you! I must admit I had this planned for a while, but decided to wait until super close to get up to date footage etc, I was relieved when I saw that their’s didn’t have as many different things as mine
Oh I FULLY agree, I thought the race was amazing. I was just stating the complaints people had. In my head I thought you can't judge until its all said and done, and certainly the race was great
The impact on locals was brutal and they’re already organizing against F1. The track won’t be cleaned up until well after new years. There will be a couple months peace and they start prep again. Locals vote. Count on an F1 backlash where elected officials will be given an ultimatum, rein this in or be voted out.
@@EverythingExplainedd i got to drive the track to get pizza lol there's so many cool things about this . ppl hate change so much; they forget vegas is a business not a city
Great Job on explaining everything in a succinct and enjoyable manner. I live in Utah so it would be the easiest race to attend but the prices, the mess of Las Vegas and just a general atmosphere that wasn't my idea of a motor race made it less attractive than say, Austin! However there is no denying that it is attractive to a very large and younger audience that sees an F1 race as an excuse to party more than anything else. Exactly the audience that F1 and Las Vegas are trying to attract. Not my thing but good for the sport as entertainment. Thanks for the Video!!
I went last year and had a blast!! I was able to secure 3 nights at the Mandalay for 700 for the coming race in November😄Don’t think I’ll get so lucky on tickets tho lmao I’m gonna have to pay the full price
I find it funny that Europeans are complaining about the start time for the race. I live in Canada and whenever there is a race in Europe, Asia, or surrounding areas, I am unable to watch live, so I watch the replays. It's just what happens when you have a sport that travels all over the world.
Everything Explained !! Fantastic insight into the mighty F1 machine, really interesting for the fan or none fan….brilliant and very interesting, eye watering amounts of money involved but that’s why F1 is the best 😊
To be fair no Vegas resident would drive on the strip (take the 15 and then jump off onto Dean Martin Drive or Frank Sinatra Drive and get where you need to go - presumably work). The problems are around Sands Ave and Harmon Ave because that's how locqls will get to their work on the strip from that side of town. The Strip itself has been a car park for years. I'm not a resident but I have friends who are so I know the place quite well.
But not it seems like they were lies from F1, as tickets became available closer to the race. Almost like they said they were sold out to make it appear better...
It was a good race, the only complaint was with the FIA and Carlos Sainz, that 10 grid spot penalty was bull sh-t. They really should consider moving the race up to an earlier date next year. Iam sure it had a lot to do with the new construction and the time constraints associated with that.
Agreed, gutted for Sainz, should NEVER be punished for that. Well I saw they said pre-order tickets now for November 20th? I heard they was gonna move to October but not sure
I think this track has bright future. The race wasnt bad at all. Even Azerbaijan GP was a snooze fest in the first year in 2016 and it grew to be one of the best races and great chases
That cutscene with red bull driving through a casino when people are putting bets on would be next levels.I bet if they done that it would be something else.Plz F1 be watching this and take note 🤞.....
F1 keeps talking about all the money this event is going to bring in - somewhere between $500m to $1b. What they don't factor in is 'opportunity costs'... ie, without F1, how much money would Vegas have generated during a normal weekend in November? And then subtract that from what F1 actually brings in, and you'll see what the true 'benefit' is. And it's not going to be as big as people think, and the juice might not be worth the squeeze economically. But oh well, it's F1's money. Vegas already has a $45b annual tourism economy. Is the disruption to all the casinos/tourism spots once a year worth it in the long run to increase total tourism revenues by 1-2% total annually?
One thing they did say on SkySports today is that they picked this weekend as its one of Vegas's least busy weekends (week before thanks giving in america), so in terms of opprutunity cost, I thnk they'd 10000% take an f1 race
This race was pretty fun. Yes, we all hate they keep adding street races, but at least this one wasn't too bad. Don't get me wrong, I would take Hockenheim or Portimão any day before I take Vegas, but at least it's not Miami. Ugh.
This is a great recap of the first year of F1 returning to Vegas. There are quite a few casinos I'm sure will LOVE having the type of clients that F1 brings. This is a massive bet for F1, but the American Market needs to be tapped and there's not a better city to do it in. From my perspective, if you move to this city the first thing you should expect is a developer to come in and disrupt everything with a bigger project than the last person. I don't have much sympathy for the people who are inconvenienced. They buy into it by moving here.
thank you! yeah I do know what you mean, some of the complaints are a bit 'you cant have your cake and eat it', people of vegas want it to be this extraordinary place, so to become that, you need some disruption
@@johnjones4376 Vegas is ridiculous, the whole idea of a theme park for adults in the desert is ridiculous. If you don't like these kinds of disruptions, Vegas is not the place for you. Start using public transportation and other means to get around and demand your local representatives address this now. They have the money to do it.
kudos to all the construction workers, electricians, fencers, HVAC, welders, plumbers, engineers, iron workers, etc it's insane to build something that would take 5+ years in just 1 year! This should boost and revive a tired and aging Las Vegas, despite all the complaints, it's amazing! Wish I was there!
I think it would have worked better visually to not have bleachers in front of the Bellagio fountains. Leave the scenery open and have the fountains going off during the race
I cant imagine how crazy it was in town during all the road construction. Ha, when I moved away last year, Rainbow was still under construction in its 30th year or so by the 215.
Track looked great and in that time frame but if you live there and it's all hindering your day to day life it would be a bummer, isn't the sphere just a round TV is it that groundbreaking.
Yeah you would think with all the city tracks that they've created and raced on in the past and even hearing them talk about having those same issues in the past that somebody an engineer or anybody for that matter would have come up with a better idea on how to address the problem... Sounds to me like as always somebody dropped the ball
That was really interesting. I'll bet the European fans will just LOVE Formula 1 moving HQ to the States. Most of them loathe the U.S. being involved in 'their' sports be it F1, road cycling, soccer/futbol, etc. I couldn't care less one way or another. It will be interesting to see how the Vegas economy benefits from this. Usually it's not the average Joe who really sees any of it.
Yeah part of me thinks the low paid people wont see a difference, which is a shame, apparently the casinos were still busy when the race was on tho which is good
Although my sympathies go out to the residents of Vegas who had to suffer through all the prep work, I'm glad it's a road course instead of a designed closed loop like Austin.
Personally, now that F1 is built, the traffic has gotten so much better. The peak of the traffic is definitely over but it was hell. I remember getting off at 12am and getting home at 330am on a 25 min drive home 🙄🙄
If the racing is like this again in the future, the Las Vegas GP will succeed. They can get faster at setup and breakdown. This will fix many of residents concerns. F1 does need to do better to connect with the Las Vegas community. whether its opening a free F1 museum in Las Vegas at their space they own year round or investing in local open wheel racing projects. They could open a F1 themed go kart track or something that the community would enjoy. Find ways to increase the community's love of racing and F1 while also not being money hungry scumbags. They don't have to charge exorbitant prices for a museum or go kart track but those things will increase the popularity of the event and provide a direct link between F1 and the people and tourists of vegas.
@@EverythingExplainedd yes but it costs 300 times as much to do and has caused millions of dollars in damage to the casinos... and it isnt bringing 500 times as much revenue certainly not even twice as much profit. to my understanding this is going to be an economic failure all said and done. 500 million dollars and 9 months spent of killing business on the strip just for a few days? did they expect to make 15 grand from 100,000 people? i just cant make the slightest bit of sense of it.
What they have done with the time given is very impressive. They did a great job and it looks fantastic. I am enjoying it way more than any of the other street tracks. Vegas somehow seems less over the top and annoying than Miami.
now i understand why hamilton and perez's cars are so far down in the grid....them two have been struggling with top speed and being slower all year long
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) - Police arrested more than 70 people and identified more than 200 victims in a sex trafficking operation during the Las Vegas Grand Prix. 2023
About the timing of the race and other events; Yes, it seems weird if you want to gain American fans. But it isn't an American sport. Europeans need to stay up crazy late to watch some of American Football matches too.
well half of the stuff, like the paddock building etc is permenant, but next year they will have to still build temproarry granstands, put the lighting up etc, and take it down after the race. Thats just how F1 street circuits work, it will cost ALOT less next year, maybe 50-150m
@@EverythingExplainedd no these numbers always go vastly over budget due to greedy employees. so if you say 50-100m then i say 100-200m. they are mighty mighty bold to think that they can fetch this kind of money from this type of consumer.. they clearly are going to lose a ton of money this year and they expect to make it back next year. come on man. vegas is on par to do another 2008 crisis my man this is just stupid stupid gambling with tax dollars. las vegas is supposed to bring in money from gamblers not do the gambling itself.
also im not trying to be dictating and telling you anything at all here. or that im right here but I just dont see how this makes any sense is all. I'm just trying to understand it. ive been a big tax payer in las vegas for 20 plus years and am really looking to maybe leave because i just dont trust living the rest of my life in this crap hole that doesnt care about its people at all. i was able to pay off my house here 9 years ago because i bought at the lowest possible time but it seems like time to sell and leave out of here. i really feel like im witnessing this greed of 2005 just crazy crazy spending. all the sports teams etc.
so as is normal its your members of the public who take all the pain in their lives been disrupted for how ever long it was. but its the rich and big businesses who make all the gain , money basically from the race .your average citizen will never see a penny from this
Reporters claim that the residents are 'furious' at this spectacle. But, sensible LV residents know this brings in a boatload of money over a very short period of time.
That is not what it looked like you make it look empty it was not after starting came back and then wanted Vegas to pay 40,000,000 for the pavement you don't have clue and do not fully understand
They had already started it was not empty ground there was a smaller casino and hotel there I can't remember the name I used koval to go to Ellis Island hotel that was 2 miles from mgm that took 1.5 hours drive and Uber drivers refused to go to cause it was not worth it
All I hear is the huge money bringing into the city, But who is seeing it, The casinos owners , Hotel Owners and F1, No one else , alot of locl businesses were hurt by this, The locals were not making diddly. It was a huge disruption for months and to the locals not worth it,
The city is too busy for this crap and as much as I love racing, I hated the mess they turned the city into. It has ruined Vegas for 6mos for all visitors and locals! Dumbest idea a man has come up with yet!
Who gives a shit if the residents of Las Vegas complain? This is a global event, which means it is considered on a worldwide scale. For a local economy that relies on tourism, it seems to me that they should be very very very grateful for that event in Las Vegas. They should be helping to ensure that it's a success. This race can end up making Vegas 3 times bigger. Las Vegas has to consider the fact that it has to grow or it will die. Staying small, empty, etc is not a good option for them.
oh yeah I mean I agree, the whole point of Vegas is bigger, better, bolder, theres not many sports you could bring into a city to add onto that, plus it'll be alot easier in future years
There's substantial room for improvement in your video editing, especially considering your 15,000 subscribers. I found the current video quality to be below par and quite surprising given your subscriber count. Your voice could benefit from sounding more pleasant, as the current accent is somewhat grating to the ears. Notably, you didn't show your face, perhaps implying it might not be visually appealing to eyes either. If so, then keep it hidden! While I acknowledge that improvement takes time, subscribing now feels more like a gesture of goodwill than a genuine compliment. I encourage you to diligently work on refining your content over the upcoming months to enhance overall quality, so one day you will be worthy of my subscription, which is superior to all others. Good day, Sir.
hahahaha, whatever shall I do if Smith9808 doesn't honour me with his prestigious subscription? Oh yeah leave my house which he clearly hasn't done since birth
@@EverythingExplainedd😅 glad you had a good laugh. Was going to say only joking at the end. But wanted you to believe someone could be that much of a pretentious prick for a few hours 😂
The construction, the disruption... The ticket prices show that it's not for any local or person from around there. I've read that the only way this will stop is with a mutual agreement. I can only pray. Terrible idea! The only people who care about this are NOT from here. Therefore, they don't matter.
and this crap messed up the city for a year... but 9 more to go. thats why 35% of residents are moving out of the area. that... and the constant weed smell and thugs visiting
