My Experience at Formula One (F1) in Las Vegas... 😲 

Loved it. Can't wait for the next year's race. First time experienced the GP so closely. Actually feel and hear the F1 cars were amazing.

Great comments at the end. Glad you addressed some of the issues. But really want to know how much the truffles were. 🤣🤣

(1) Losing out on the P1 / P2 due to the accident (and 8 minute run) then the delay until 2am when they kicked us all out a half hour prior SUCKED. (2) Traffic was awful... in spite of closing the strip only at 5pm, it was just bad all the time. (3) While I like walking, the distances required to walk to the race grandstand (East Harmon) was nuts if you were staying at the Wynn, Venetian, etc... (4) Ticket and clothing prices were outrageous. The value you got for what you spent was so unbalanced it was ridiculous. Would I go next year? Perhaps. There were enough positives to make it a possibility, but they need to consider reductions in package prices and more reasonable prices for clothes, etc. Hopefully by next year they can sort out some of the traffic challenges as well. Also -- McLaren, Alfa and Mercedes were fairly well represented... Aston, Red Bull and Ferrari were almost non existent, which was disappointing. It was like they were too cool for school to come to Vegas. Bummer.

Hopefully this is the last year 😅

They should get the Rose Parade people to run the thing. They hold one of the largest events in the world and nobody complains because they do everything to both mitigate any interference in life and to be inclusive. The parade is NOT held in some walled fortress and it doesn't make incredible amounts of noise in the middle of the night. "Want to look at the pretty floats for free? Great! Dress warmly and bring a thermos full of hot chocolate!"

Agree! I would have loved to go but marked it right off the list at that price.

Food cost alone will keep most from returning.

Based on some of Ruby’s other videos, there are still some good deals to be found around the Strip and Downtown. One thing to keep in mind is that portion sizes are very large at many Vegas restaurants, so sharing an entree can also help save money.

Noticed the roof top Dennys was packed… that looks like the place to be!

Prices were down to nothing the night before the race

As a Long Beach native, we've had racing since 1975! Started with Formula cars then went to Indy cars & Drifting. Nothing like standing track-side! With earplugs of course. Got to meet Mario Andretti Sr. & other drivers. Tickets are affordable so maybe Vegas will calm down.

The best part of the coverage was Shaq saying "eff you" to the Skkky News clown

When at the race there is giant jumbo screens telling you everything. I was in grandstands Thursday. I was on strip on race day. You bring you large tablet with F1 app . You have the live broadcast streaming. You can add earphones to hear it better. You see the cars with your own eyes flying by.. Bring Bluetooth speaker and you will have a party around you. Plus TV in casinos were crowded with people.. Pricing was high at first and Culinary Union detoured people from coming. First street racing events always shows errors and flaws. Many race fans wait for second year to show up. I don't believe it wasn't successful . Grandstands were full Saturday. Liberty Media after spending 560 million for the event and their planned stay for many years. They aren't packing up and going away

I stayed in LV over the summer (early-June for the WSOP), & traffic/construction was already ridiculous.

Everyone in the Las Vegas valley should get a check for putting up with this bunkum.

@@kittyglitter9094 Ruby may not have been sponsored by F1 but she might have gotten the stay at the Wynn for free. Of course, getting free rooms in Vegas isn't abnormal. And I'm sure her comments on the Wynn were genuine. The Wynn is absolutely one of the best hotels in Vegas. Not a doubt.

That might be true, but doesn't tell the whole story. A video can be heavily influenced by a free stay, free meals, free race tickets, etc. @@iamkrista1

They could have easily built an F1 track out at the speedway. The best part of the whole thing was Shaq blowing off Sky News.

Local businesses lost their SHIRT ! ! The majority of small businesses on the Strip were ( CLOSED ) ! ! Most of the beautiful views of the Strip were BLOCKED and ( NO ) view or views... A lot of Las Vegas residents are angry, mad, and frustrated with the entire mess, closed streets and roads, including the Strip and surrounding area. * F-1 GP Race Event was a Big Mistake ! ! * * Even the F-1 Race Drivers were angry and mad and very disappointed in the event, including F-1 Fans... :(

@@iallyl3877 Yes, but motor sport is a niche sport that most people aren't interested in. And most sports don't require key areas of major cities to be shut down for weeks to prepare for them. The novelty of 'F1 is coming to town' will wear off very quickly for all but those who are really into the sport.

Not sponsored by F1, didn’t say anything about Wynn. After reading all the other comments on here, for her to pin in comments that Wynn did get them free room blah, blah…. This is AFTER THE FACT! I subscribe to both channels and watch slot vids daily, and travels when you post. So I am just BAFFLED at how you blatantly just didn’t disclose they hosted you IN the video! I thought you had to disclose that? Just for future reference I think you definitely need to include that in your videos so people know your integrity of the experience and video you’re putting out for us to enjoy.

Nah.. check the pinned comment. The Wynn did comp them, just with no obligation to make a video. even my wynn rate for this weekend was $2600 for one night, (highly discounted) so thats definitely something to acknowledge, even just for gratitudes sake. Nice vid Ruby and Mr!

​@@Careym72agreed. She's done that quite a few times. Doesn't mention a sponsorship (comp) until the end to get people to watch the entire video for the watch time. Then quickly mentions the comp to keep it legal. Despite her honest opinions, it still seems sneaky to me, and you're right. It does affect her integrity.

The Wynn was the place to stay during F1 because they are outside the track area.

then we have NYE and the Super Bowl after that, things on the strip are going to be interesting for a while still.

@@barbarapisarski4144 I may have the husband drive down it near the Super Bowl, just to see what they put together, but that's about it. No place to even park that doesn't cost an arm and a leg now.

No one will curtail events like this because of losses. I think there will be more events like this in the future, just for the cheers. What do you think?

Yes Vegas has gotten very expensive! I was there last year and a bottle of water was $9

Zero benefit to the local economy, only the luxury resorts on the strip. Most locals don't want it returning because it required a $84 million taxpayer subsidy.

How much were the tickets?

@@MH_6160 I attend the Austin races each year. I get a complete 3 day package with Paddock pass for about $400. Which is very reasonable. If you took a Paddock Pass out of it then you would probably be around $300 for a 3 day pass.

It will grow each year . With over pricing and looming Culinary Union strike. It detoured many from coming. Plus many F1 and Indycar fans like myself. We know issues, problems come up on first event city street courses.we wait for 2nd year We are past first event now, no Culinary Union threats next year, pricing should be more realistic. Guaranteed the late run sessions Thursday and Friday will be earlier .Toto Wolfe ,Mercedes principal asked for that. Fred principal of Ferrari wants a added race (support race) .like formula 3 or sports cars or Robby Gordon SST trucks .I been wanting these to. I was in Vegas for 4 days .It was great. More a trial run for next year.

Thanks for the invite but as a local myself, I can say that I have had enough F1 to last a lifetime. The 7 minutes I saw on Thursday night turned me off forever.

I saw some stunned couples there. Also saw some stunned in a good way. Wow F1 is here in Vegas. The Lids Store on the strip. They sell baseball caps and sport jerseys. Half the story was F1 Team jerseys and hats .full of people with lines at the checkout. I couldn't tell you how many in that store knew there was F1 race in town. But plenty of families got jerseys and hats for their kids and parents

The turn out wasn’t low. It was a massive success for people that had the money to attend. It’s a 10 years agreement with Vegas so you have an entire decade to save up your pennies.

@@Big-4 If the turn out wasn’t low how come the prices dropped like a rock? Hotel rooms were available for as low as 90 bucks if not less. Initially you could only buy packages staring at 5K and towards the end you could buy single tickets for the weekend for $500 and hotel rooms prices were pretty cheap. You are missing the point about not being able to afford going to Vegas. It has nothing to do with that. It has to do with the value I put on a sporting event and paying 5K or 10K is not worth it. I am willing to pay 3K. That’s the value I am willing to pay. I attended the World Series to watch the Dodgers and I was willing to pay no more than 2K for a single gane which is what I paid. More than that, it is not worth it. Once again, affordability is not the issue. It is price elasticity of demand. Your comment about having a decade to save up my pennies is idiotic.

@@juliopaez4516 because they over shot the market & readjusted. Once they did the remainder filled in. They did the same in Miami & people delay purchases like this. Your value proposition may or may not fit the F1 business model. If you want to go bad enough in person you’ll save up or watch it on TV like 99.9% of the world. Idiotic are people who get defensive when people respond to comments you voluntarily put online!

I mean the race is twice as expensive as any typical European race so most European fans dodged as well.

I suspect the target audiences are quite different for the two events.

You can get a lovely dog from a shelter for nearly free. Just fyi.

@@iamkrista1 I have 2 rescues, this one is a Bernise Mountain Dog, and they rarely if ever, end up in the pound. I love the breed, so we got a puppy from a good breeder.
