David you are truly brilliant. Your work helped me so much in my journey of a 10 year anxiety disorder with Agoraphobia. I couldn't leave 1km away from my home in Dublin Ireland. And now i am living in Paris France. Thanks again sir

Thank you for this. I suffer from this for a decade already and you sir, just described perfectly (like no one else) what happens in my life. Getting rational about the panic episodes (when not in panic) is extremely helpful for a future panic event. Thank you! You helped me :)

I just purchased your workbook. I cannot wait to receive it. I JUST started having panic attacks over the last month - NO fun. I have sought out medical care but nothing seems to help just yet. Your videos have been reassuring and I appreciate them! :)

Yes, people can recover to the point that they are able to live their life the way they want without being blocked by anxiety and fear of anxiety. That doesn't mean they never feel anxiety, but they learn to handle it well enough that it ceases to be a big problem. It takes longer to recover than it does for panic to arrive, so stay with the program.

Is idea of recovery to bring anxiety in normal levels as in someone who never experienced anxiety disorders?
@davecarbonell
@davecarbonell 3 года назад
@@ivannovoselac3518 Pretty much, yes, and also when anxiety rises, to recognize it for what it is, and let is pass.

I like your videos and web site, in particular the section about fear of highway driving. It sounds like you were writing about me. Also, my therapist made me aware of you and gave me the link to your belly breathing video. Thanks for your help.

I need his book. 14 years of panicking. costed me 2 families, jobs, home, ... life. I was a musician. Played all over US and Mexico. Youngest inductee to Texas Tejano Hall of Fame. I'm currently homeless. Can't go anywhere. Wide awake wishing I could be done with all of this. one way or another.

you just explained my whole explanation to the ER doctor I went to tonight. my legs got so weak I started stumbling and shaking. I got a cat scan (due to history of daily migraines), ekg, and blood test. she told me I was healthy and honestly I was upset with that answer. it happened to me sunday, then tuesday, in which I tapped out and went to the ER. I work with heavy machinery and was going to end up seriously hurting myself by stumbling on weak legs taking breaths that really only helped with reminding my mind how tight my chest was feeling rather than relieving anything.

This sounds like depersonalization, which is frequently associated with panic and high anxiety. I have an article about this on my site. RU-vid doesn't allow me to post a link here, but if you go to my main site and add /depersonalization.html to the URL, you'll find it. Hope that's helpful.

Hi Dr Carbonell, I'm not sure if you still monitor these comments, but your website has been very helpful to me. This video described me exactly, after my first panic attack. Do you have any ideas on what causes that fear and discomfort that leads to that first panic attack, that makes us think 'there's no danger, why am I feeling fear?' Also, what is your take on how once you solve your anxiety (a particular type, or a few types) it then manifesting into different types of anxiety?

You still have that fear and anxiety? Because I got mine here the other day, and I don't know what to do.

Panic attacks in activities such as eating, showering, watching tv - what seems to happen is that these activities require so little of your conscious, working brain that it's easy for your mind to wander, and if you've been having trouble with panic, it's probably going to wander to the subject of panic and possible trouble, even when you may not be paying conscious attention. Ditto for sleep, because your mind is not turned off even during sleep.

I have read your website and now subscribed to your videos thanks. I have recently learned I have high blood pressure when ever someone checks my blood pressure and the thing is that I am not over weight, I'm in shape and manage my salt and sugar intake. After reading your site I understand that I have social phobias. I gonna have to open up about my fears because I don't tell anybody. I guess I just wanted to say thanks.

A panic attack for me was being halfway across a intersection and feeling like the cars are coming at you to hit you. That is what led me to deciding to get my first white cane in 2008.

I don't really have extreme panic attacks, I just have little bursts. I keep fearing different things, as if my fears were phases, and I keep adopting knew ones and throwing out old ones. I fear that I will fear other fears. I don't seize up necessarily, and I can keep doing normal things if I start having this dreadful fears and act like I'm fine, but the truth is, is that it's just as bad as having a panic attack. I have surges of thoughts of certain fears that rush threw my head and only head

I was in a classroom, I started having a panic attack. I looked around and everyone was like, dude are you ok? I thought I was ok so I lied to everyone saying that I dont take caffiene very well and I had a coffee in the morning. I really thought I was going insane and that my heart was going to give out. Everything felt like a dream, and when I tried to walk I felt like i was just going to become one with the floor, as if melting.

Can anyone with anxiety disorder completely recover to live a normal life like those without anxiety disorder? My first panic attack was a result of a drug I smoked called spice. It's been about 9 or 10 months since that night. Month number 2 with anxiety was probably my worst. Then I found your site and bought your book. My anxiety since then has not been as bad. I don't have panic attacks anymore but I still feel the uncomfortable symptoms of anxiety almost everyday. Good days and bad days

i have another question, because ive recently started to feel as if im becoming afraid of my own existence. I feel as though sometimes i am too aware of myself and it is frightening to feel like i am not myself. is your program something that can help this as well? is this feeling something that is just as treatable as the rest of the symptoms from anxiety? or is there something else i should look for to get over these disturbing thoughts?

I was smoking marijuana one day with couple of my friends and I had no idea whatsoever what a panic attack was and it was about 6-7 months ago and we were just joking around and i couldnt stop laughing...like literally couldnt stop laughing and it got to the point where I had to go out to get some air and that's when it started and I had no idea what was going on I thought I was going to die of a heart attack or something and I couldnt let go of my chest all night..It was really scary
