The problem is that they keep raising prices and people keep flocking to the parks. There is no way to duplicate the experience anywhere else. They simply do it the best. There is no reason for them to not continue to charge more until attendance falls off. At least they are investing heavily in new attractions to keep it fresh. I know how you feel, though. Been going since 72 with my parents then with my family and there is no value to be found. I just accept that walking in the gate and enjoy it as much as possible.
That is a spectacularly accurate way of putting it. Like you booked everyone last minute and demanded they show up at your house to put on a show. They're begrudgingly doing it but...meh
We are all peasants. The real Princesses are the business tycoons. Even though Disney portrays itself to be a leftist with their political views. By firing people over comments made 10yrs ago. They have a completely capitalist mindset. The hypocrisy is uncanny. If it actually wants to be a socialist then they should follow with what they preach. Equality for everyone.
as an Asian I really want to visit Disney World again cause there's so much to do ! and I personally prefer Shanghai to Tokyo because the rides are really advanced and epic
My family’s first Disney trip was 20 years ago. Most of my childhood, we went to Disney every year or every other year. Skip to, my boyfriend and I are now both teachers… we’re not going to Disney with our family very much.
Doing ok anyway......not really "well" LOL When you consider it costs about $2300-2500/month average for a 1-2 bedroom in most big cities in SoCal....Thankfully they haven't upped the prices much since the shutdown. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for rent, groceries etc.
I used to spend way too much time creating these elaborate packages through the booking lol. I would add like a week at the most expensive suites and add dining plans and everything else that was addable. Never pushed the "book" or "checkout" button but it was fun to dream lol..
I do that for First Class intercontinental plane tickets haha. The other day I chuckled as I saw the $10000+ cost of a First Class Korean Air suite Seoul - New York & back. One day.... ?
Remember doing it once for two weeks over xmas and new year staying in the best suite , price was over £ 180 000pp then you still had to buy your disney ticket . If i was lucky enough to win the lottery and be able to afford that would rather get a bunch of under privalage families and take them to a moderate resort and treat the kids to a once in a lifetime holiday instead of treating a few stuck up idiots
I did once in 2017 it was magical I was able to eat at all the super fancy restaurants every night on the dining plan and a concierge 2 story room in boardwalk inn with all 4 parks included and our concierge found us fast passes like use for any ride anytime kind along with the ones we had booked already for no extra at no more that 3000 for 5 days now you COULD NEVER!

When I was 6 years old (so, 24 years ago) my grandparents brought the whole family (I believe there were 13 of us at the time) on a trip to Disney World. We stayed in the Grand Floridian. It was only after I started watching this channel that I realized the range of how much they had *actually* spent on that trip and how extremely generous they were. The funniest part: I, at age 6, was the oldest grandchild, so they spend all that money for a trip that only I could remember, and just barely 😅
My grandparents took me to Florida when I was like three. I saw a shuttle launch, caught a giant eel, and went to Disney World. I don't remember much, but the Small World song still jumps out of my subconscious every once in a while.
If you can spend 12k on bull, then you can definitely spend the extra on the ticket. Hell, some of those people probably don't even look at the prices let alone calculate the bottom line prior to.
The park ticket is dirt cheap if you’re already doing this. As someone who goes on a vip tour like this every month or so, as a Florida resident, it’s not even a thought
@@DisneyUpBoilerUp a four day ticket for a Florida resident is like $60 per day I’m a stay at home mom now, supported my husband / our family single-handedly for years before his business exploded. He didn’t have an income for three years and I worked two jobs on top of being a stay at home mom. Now I just enjoy life and take my kids to Disney on vip tours really often 🙂 so grateful to see tickets as dirt cheap now. Took years to get here.
We are about 20 years away from Disney reserving certain “exclusive access” days when the park will be closed to anyone who does not pay $1000 to enter.
There's probably a lot of people that would pay 5 times the price to deal with 1/5th the crowds for the day. or at least enough to make it worth it to disney
A thousand would be too much for me, but I just went to Disney at required 2/3rds capacity and it was incredible. I would pay double the ticket for a half-capacity day, for sure. You get to do and see so much more!
I know I'm gonna get a lot of downvotes for this one but....Disney has been inflating prices at about the same rate as general cost of living. Guess what hasn't been inflating? Wages. If companies are still paying their workers exactly the same wages as they did 20 years ago, but everything else in life has gone up in price, then you can't afford the middle class lifestyle you were used to anymore. Not only is Disney more expensive, but so is your rent, your food, schooling, childcare, etc. So you have less disposable income on top of all that. Disney jacking up prices isn't the only problem, stagnant wages are the biggest contributor in why everything seems to be more expensive now.
But minimum wage in Florida has risen 49% compared to the wages in 2000? Not to mention the installation and addition of attractions across all parks that took place during this time?? Remember when Disney first opened cost of admission was much lower but a lot of attractions you had to pay additionally to access after admission. Now you pay one entrance price and have access to everything included. Not to mention a $10000+ spent on end of the night shows that take place in every park at the end of everyday…
@@TheThesassysisters "But minimum wage in Florida has risen 49% compared to the wages in 2000" okay? That has nothing to do with the fact that average wages haven't risen with inflation.
I mean, this doesn't really seem to be relevant to the video honestly. This is about how the rich do disney, they are the ones profiting off of the lower wages.
I thought U.S. Disneyland's were for the rich already? The only Disneyland in the World that isn't expensive, is Tokyo Disneyland. The tickets and food is way cheaper.
I was married at Disney World Polynesian Point 20 years ago. Pictures at Cinderella castle at sunrise before the park opened, and amazing gift basket with his and her watches that can only get by being married there. It was fun, amazing, exhausting, lol but worth it.
I don't understand why anyone would pay so much for a hotel? I literally don't go to Disney to go to a spa or golf 😂 I spend dawn to midnight in the parks, exhaust myself to the point of just passing out on the bed, having the best sleep and then repeating again!
Can you do a real "most quiet 🤫" Disney room list? I know has been mentions of quiet v loud on lists before (like the center of the contemporary due to chef Mickey's), but can you do one with the actual wall thickness, thick windows to hear no outside noise, and the least chance of loud people in mind? Us migraine sufferers want to know! TIA
You can have thick walls, but its that adjoining room door that is going to get you! I never understood that, I can hear almost everything through those doors.

Many years ago, when I was still young and cute lol, I met a handsome young man who was working the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. I first noticed him when I boarded the ride, then happened to notice he was waiting for me when the ride reached it's in (at another location!) He stopped me and asked if I wanted to meet him on his lunch break, he was cute, and when single and young, why not have a fun vacation fling right? Well, this turned into the coolest date, and awesome long distance friendship. He took me through all the fancy backstage things, I walked a catwalk HIGH above the ride we met at...it was a long way down for sure! I got to see the inner workings of Space Mountain, the "forbidden" parts of Cinderella's Castle and much more. I felt very lucky and honored to spend my entire Disney day like a Disney Royal w/front of the line access to anything my heart desired, fine dining, and more (Not to mention souvenirs from any shop that interested me. Turns out, my Disney Love, was a child of one of the Head Directors of the park so - he basically had free rein of the park anyway. Just wanted to share my story for a couple of reasons: One being, if you have the chance to get to do any of the things I mentioned whether you pay for it, or it's offered on a golden platter lol, DO IT! The second reason is simple. Just because you are on a short getaway, don't close your eyes to the possibility of love or at the very least, a long lasting friendship with memories that can last a lifetime! So here's to you Shell (ironically his name is my nickname) - thank you for the years of friendship and the memories created. I will love you always and take the memories with me to the end of my days! If I may, let me mention one last thing, this isn't just for the young, it is for the young at heart as well! Shell was not the only friend I made on that vacation. At our condo, I made friends with 4 other people who I spent each evening with around the pool until they would run us out - we laughed, played cards, shared wine - it was an amazing time truly. Two of the people fell in love, got married, and returned to England- Wendy and Michael respectively. He was from Texas, she from England and visiting with her kids. I had my 2yr old with me (and my parents thankfully lol) and the other 3 friends I made Mark, Erica, and John - from the Keys and all the way up in New Jersey, have remained in my life as well. This all began 23yrs ago and I think about it often. LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST WHILE YOU CAN!!!! And remember age is merely a number, what we have in common far surpasses the man made construct of time!
I grew up dirt poor in an immigrant family but my parents could take me to Disney very often because my uncle was an acrobat in La nouba! I am now very comfortable and the disney experience as a vip is amazing. We go very often with my kids. But I realize they will never understand how awesome it is because they never went to Disney as an immigrant child who thought it was so magical
I’m a FL resident, and I’m glad I got my fill of Disney before it tripled in price. I used to stay at the Wilderness Lodge for $220/night and All Star Music for like $95. Got into the parks for free while my mother in law worked there, but admission tickets were like $75. It’s insane what they’re charging now. I feel bad for families with kids so want to go and can’t afford it.
Ticket price is currently $109 so not necessarily a big jump from the $75. What makes DW expensive is the travel, lodging, and food of you don't live nearby.
@@aceace605 Yeah definitely. I live abroad in the UK so we have to get a long-haul plane, and flights from London to Florida have jumped up by a ridiculous amount. On top of a week at Disney and Universal, the price mounts up to be extortionate. It's 10x cheaper to go to Disneyland Paris, but absolutely nothing beats Disney World so we're forced to pay up the rising ticket and travel costs.
@@aceace605 Stay at cheaper motels OUTSIDE the park or better yet in a tent at a camp ground. Also take snacks in to the park & DON'T buy there expensive food. Instead eat outside the park. Even the gas station right outside the Magic Kingdom has normal priced food NOT price gouging like the parks do.
How the rich do Disney: 1) They can buy tickets! 2) They can pay for Fastpasses! 3) They can stay in the hotels! 4) They can pay for parking! 5) They can pay for food!
My best Disneyland experience was one evening when the organizers of a convention I was attending in Anaheim rented the entire park for the convention attendees. All told, only a few hundred of us attended, and although the food choices were a bit limited, there were absolutely no lines, and we could ride anything we wanted as often as we wanted.
I think if I were rich, rather than "live it up" at Disney, I'd give kids who would otherwise probably never get to go to Disney the chance to go. That means more than a VIP experience.
Awww 💗 You're awesome. I didn't think of that. I'd probably want to go with the kids though not gonna lie. Lol 😆 But I really rather travel the world myself. If I were rich, especially if I didn't have kids.
Do you mean like kids in Niger? I love the thought, but considering they hardly have clean drinking water, they'd probably love going to your local grocery store much better. To them, that would be their Disney World.
@@lactosetheintolerant5640 You know there are kids in America that live in poverty. You don't need to go to tribal Africa to find kids who would never get a chance to go to Disneyland otherwise.
@@orion3706 What does that have to do with anything? The original post was if you were rich, you'd give kids who would otherwise never get to go to Disney a chance to go. I pointed out there are much better things to give such kids, kids in Niger being a good example. Your thought is nice but not at all rooted in reality. Last stats I saw, 1 out of every 3 university students in the US are food insecure. So, not really kids, but there we see a perfect example of someone disadvantaged and how going to Disney won't really help them.
if I was rich i’d be spending money traveling the world, not on disney lol. but super rich people have the money to do both i’m sure, so it’s still interesting to see!
Amen. I grew up going to Disneyland so I am nostalgic for it but if I didn't have kids (and was rich) I don't think I'd care. I want to see England, Scotland, Ireland, Spain..........but alas will likely never afford it. So here's Disneyland! ☺️🏰
To each their own I think the prices are outrageous but there are ways to make it affordable. I personally love it. The diversity of activities at my fingertips. The massive amounts of walking and the atmosphere I love the beach too but disney is great for me
I imagine this is how anyone making minimum wage in this country feels about anyone that can afford to go to Disney honestly. I can only justify the cost 2 times a decade, and this is actually how I currently view people who say they go several times a year.
It's mind-blowing to me, I understand the appeal to Disney fans and parents of Disney fans, but I feel like you could rent out an actual castle somewhere for less.
My parents worked hard so that they could take us every year and they always made a point of reminding us to savor every moment because for lots of people Disney is a once in a lifetime experience!
I'm sorry, but even when I get rich I'm still going to act poor. I shall not spend a thousand dollars on some beverages that probably don't even taste the best, food that tastes plain and yes I do know because I've been to Disney's cruise ship, great experience but I'll take the to go pizza and ice cream instead of their fancy steak. Like I dont know if I'm gonna feel the magic when I go to the disney college program or their holiday parade because of how expensive they are
Cast members get discounts, including on some of the tours (occasionally). At least that’s how it used to be, not sure now Basically the only way cast members can experience the parks and talk it up to guests is through that access
Am I the only one sort of weirded out by renting out the whole park? I get if you're a celebrity and you don't want the fuss, but if you're just a normal rich person, it feels sort of creepy to have a whole park to yourself.
I know this is unrelated but Regal Cinemas, at least here in California that I know of, have started allowing people to rent an auditorium for up to 20 people. It costs $129-$299, without tax.
I loved backstage magic - the cast members were wonderful, and were very indulgent about my geeking out over basically everything. Super interesting tour.
I'd rather go to Disney every 5 years, with a VIP guide then going every year and waiting in lines forever and simply not riding everything I want, as much as I want.
That's your prerogative, but I'm a local and had Annual Passes for years. If you go on the slow times, you can go on all the rides and wait in pretty short lines. We went during covid and walked on just about everything. And it didn't cost us a fortune.
@@blaster-zy7xx Interesting to know. But I'm from Brazil and it's usually much "easier" for upper medium class to plan a whole vacation to WDW and spend 1 or 2 weeks there, if not more. Disneyland caters for their locals. In WDW, since I don't get to go frequently, I feel disappointed with not doing everything I want and now being upcharged for it. I'd honestly rather stay in a cheap hotel outside the property, not buying much merch and souvenirs, and "invest" in a VIP tour, in wich I can enjoy everything I want, as much as I want. I'd spend probably 1 day in each park only and feel fullfilled. 3 days for shopping and resting and bam! you have a worthy week holiday. The way things are going now is just insane. If the VIP tour is the ONLY way to go to Tower of Terror 5 times in a row, like back in the days when I was a teen in the 90s and the crowds were bad but not simply nonsense, then I'll take it, even if that costs me to go to Disney much much less frequently. 🤷♂️
I’m weird, I wouldn’t want some stranger hanging around my family/ friends the whole time I’m in the park. I don’t care how much money I had. I’ve seen the guide with famous people and it’s very awkward to me.
@@pamscruggs2660 our family is very loving and welcoming. We're not weird lol. We like sharing experiences, meeting locals, exchanging infos with tour guides (we value their jobs) and making trip-friends. We just don't tolerate spending money to look at attractions we can't ride. Lol. And fortunately we're not famous, which makes the VIP guide job even more essential for these people due to the other guests' harassment.
Yes, the Disney Gallery used to be in what is now the Dream Suite. One time I even caught a tour of the gallery where they talked about how it was going to be Walt's new apartment, showed off where the sinks and closets were, and all of that. It was a nice space, sadly now behind a paywall. Same with Court of Angels. Disney doesn't realize how important having quiet, out of the way spaces actually is.
A friend invited us to the VIP tour with him and his wife for their anniversary, I had no IDEA it was that much.. But we did do everything in 6 hours, I mean everything, that was open at that time.
Fun video. There’s a big difference between enjoying all Disney has to offer with (nearly) unlimited funds and visiting Disney if you’re famous. If you’re famous (and judging by the D- and C-list celebs Disney has feted that’s a big subset of the population) your visit is typically coordinated by Disney PR staff, rightfully so as personal security is an issue most park goers enjoy without second thought. By far the best experience is a Disney vacation where the general public has absolutely no idea who you are. Disney parks management may well know you’re there (Did Disney shareholder relations help organize your trip?) but for many in the one-per-cent-of-the-top-one-per-cent, it’s a rare enjoyable opportunity to be part of the world at-large.
In 2014 a Club 33 member took myself and some family/friends on a 12 hour tour of Disneyland. Although we knew it was a big deal and appreciate it, years later that same Club 33 member and myself would feel our jaws drop as those hourly rates went up 4x to 5x in price. We'd never pay that amount now. I'm not saying the experience isn't worth it, I'm saying we object to inflated prices and irresponsible spending. Even the rich draw a line somewhere and say "Nah, I'm out." I wish more people would. Disney won't stop jacking up prices until most of you learn and stop going. They only do it because you keep coming and can't control your impulses.
So, I DID get the $120 water at Victoria and Albert's. For my taste buds, Evian is actually far better, and pairs better with food. To each their own. I wouldn't do it again.
I worked for a local limo company over the past couple decades. I once picked up a rapper's baby's momma and entourage of friends [it was the kid's 15th birthday weekend]. They got the $10k/day VIP tour. Around 3pm, they decided they wanted to see Universal Studios. So, they made a call and got Universal's version of the VIP treatment. They spent the next whole day back at Disney....same price again. As far as celebrity status, I've picked up quite a few at Signature at MCO and taken them to the Four Seasons, waited, take them to whatever venue in Orlando they're doing their concert and home [to the Four Seasons] again. Then, there are some that I've picked up at the main terminal and taken to the Contemporary. It's funny how the ones I've taken to the Four Seasons are much cooler people to hang with than the ones I've taken to the Contemporary--who are usually what I call "SIP" or Self Important Person. If you're that important, shouldn't you be at the Four Seasons, too? :P
The first time I went to Disney we were poor. We drove from Maryland to Florida in a van and split the gas cost between 4 of us and stayed at the campground in the van. We only had one meal inside the park and got McDonalds for other meals. We didn't buy any merch and only went for three days. I'm not poor anymore, but now I can't afford it with the new price hikes.
I went there yesterday and you know what made me feel like a VIP? Skipping 2 hour lines with the genie + pass. I got on rides in five minutes with it. Truly a enhancing experience.
@Tiger Lily Because it is not reproducible. It is the only place that one can get this experience. And it can be as high-end as you want it to be. BTW plenty of very wealthy people flock to Vail every year and that place is 100% contrived and fake so there is no reason to assume that wealth brings discernment.
We got to stay in the Roy Disney Suite at the Grand for a few nights (we did NOT pay the normal room rate lol, it was a special circumstance) and that was the boujiest I have ever felt in my life! We also got to visit the Princess Diana suite, it was gorgeous and SO fancy
And people say that Star Wars: Galactic Cruise Experience is expensive. I'm not rich, but my family is going. Just financing it through a travel agency. Book ahead, take your time paying. You have until 3 months prior to reservation to finish paying. At 2 months prior to order extras, like Saber build or droid build.
For some of these experiences you have either to be rich or be a cast member 😅 I had the chance to spend some hours after the park closed at the cinderella’s castle stage for an electronic music concert (dj maxwell) with my cast member friends, when I used to work there. It was totally free and one of the best things I have ever experienced. There were fireworks during the entire concert with a really amazing lighting and music.
I never even considered the fact that there are uber-expensive restaurants in disney. Someday I hope I have the funds to get a VIP disney stay. K, back to school work...
So the video starts and I'm thinking that, yes, I want to do the private VIP tour. It sounds phenomenal, like the best way to get on all the rides you want to hit at maybe two of the parks and not spend time waiting. Price is steep but it's for up to ten people so that, to me, sounds like something worth doing. Then AJ talks about the other VIP tour and that sounded even better, way better. Then she put the price up. Nope. No chance. A thousand bucks an hour for six people and you still have to buy park passes and get the hopper option? I love WDW but that's a semester of tuition for college.
planning a trip to disney must be the most stressful and complicated. I booked my upcoming trip and sadly if I'm honest, I started regretting it...I was SO CLOSE to cancelling it to save the money and spend it somewhere peaceful...like being out in nature. Disney execs are so GREEDY they are ruining the magic of a disney world vacation for us plebes that can't afford to DISH OUT on the premium, no hassle, no wait experience. And none of the resorts seem to really be above and beyond in amenities/worth the price tag.
Are u keeping trip? U really won't regret it. We are by NO means wealthy but made it work. Me and wife had time of our lives. And my 4 and 6 year olds reactions when meeting Mickey and favorite princess is literally priceless....we did entire trip 3 days in park and hotel, 3 days doing universal and hotel and airfare from okc for around 7,000. Flights, food, park tickets everything. Was totally worth it. Probably can't afford it again but man....beautiful experience
@@11cutiepop Honestly I looked into that. I live in Orlando. I have a full time job but if Disney offered part time positions to just work over the weekends I probably would have
Just to clarify what was said about Swan and Dolphin, they include ON PROPERTY bus transportation and boats to and from Epcot, but does NOT include free transportation between the airport and the hotel.
*Walt sold much of the rights to Disney before it became the Disney we love… I think Disney may be embellishing the whole “Walt was going to live here bit as incentive to stay.”* love this channel
I'm embarrassed to admit I hadn't even considered that when it makes so much sense. This video alone is full of mentions of celebrities staying here and eating there, claiming that something was meant for Walt himself is a great marketing strategy.
This is why I used to love Disney they cared about the customer but not anymore , they’re raising the rates to get in and everything and it’s just a matter time before nobody can afford to be in there but the rich .
