Fantastic teaching. God’s judgement of the world is not to condemn, but to uphold His righteousness in the world. We are ambassadors of His Kingdom, filled with His Spirit, to do His will and to express His righteousness and justice through our actions and words.
There are so many opportunities for the Church to step in where governments and institutions have failed. 1. We can start businesses and provide employment for the unemployable. 2. We can demonstrate class and racial egalitarianism among ourselves and in institutions we control. 3. We can provide for the poor and homeless. etc. Great message.

Clearly explains how the Holy Spirit uses a Spirit-led Christian to convict the world of Sin, Justice and Judgment. Was very helpful in understanding the Scripture.
Justice is that those with an inch of "fully humanness" actually going over to their actual neighbours who are "less than fully human", and sharing their humanness with them, eating with them, washing their feet, regardless of all their faults, political views, self inflicted misery, racism, bigotry, etc. The oposite of this is getting some sort of righteous feelings for voting correctly, for being in the right side, for protesting the correct things, etc. In the end, it is actually about personal experience, but such that we are concerned with our neighbours inner life as much as our own. Most of the time, attempting this makes one simply realise that one isn't so fantastically "human", after all, whereupon one can take comfort that the weak in spirit are blessed, because now one discovered that was actually talking about oneself and not some mysterious group of weaklings out there who are blessed in mysterious ways, just as most of the things Jesus says. One is now blessed because one now knows one cannot do this oneself, but need to trust in God, and that by small everyday good works that go unnoticed, throught the power of the spirit, shall be multiplied by the Spirit. The world will be renewed, but not by our design, but through our unnoticed works, by the Spirits design.

How does the judgment of Satan convince or convict sinners that they are going to be judged? John 16:11 If as powerful a being as Satan has been judged, then we weak human beings will be judged by God.

Got to minute 8 and confused as to why Mr Wright says " in SOME translations, "justice" is translated as 'righteousness'" .... a quick comparison of translations shows clearly NO english translations do. The word is righteousness. So why is Mr Wright changing the word to suit his message? I am genuinely asking

Marcel Jesus WAS and IS the Word. Do not judge Him by what you perceive in the world. But if you truly want the answer to your question, humbly open your heart and ask Him for the answers.
No the Kingdom is not "for" this world, as Wright asserts, but "despite" this world. Wright's error is a subtle one: he is saying that the Kingdom of God will be forever housed in the flesh, whereas Jesus said: "the flesh profiteth nothing". Accordingly, Jesus is no longer in the flesh.
Jesus Promises Another Helper/Comforter God is Holy and God is Spirit therefore God is the Holy Spirit. The things that they could not bear has been revealed to John in ‘The Revelation’. The ruler of this world is Satan the devil that has succeeded to deceive the whole world as written in ‘The Revelation’ > “--- Satan deceived the whole world:” < (Rev. 12:9 + Rev. 13:11-18 + Rev. 18:23). The ruler of this world is the Devil that showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world and their glory and said to Jesus, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory, for this has been delivered to me, and I will give it to whomever I wish. This Lamb that was found worthy is the Son of the Alpha and the Omega who sit on the throne. “He (the Son of the Alpha and the Omega who sit on the throne) He had a written that no one knew except Himself, ---. And His name is called The Word of God.” < Rev. 19:12-13. He who sits on the throne has revealed to Him who overcomes that he shall inherit all things as written in Rev. 21:5-7. He who sat on the throne said to John, “Behold, I make all things new.” Who will be able to bear what is new here. When Jesus introduced Himself to John in the time period of ‘The Revelation’ saying, “I am Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”, He was no longer the Lamb of God the Christ/Messiah. This is why Jesus spoke of another Helper, who is another Lamb to come. This man has a fantastic mind, and is very well educated in theology. I am sure he is a kind and generous person. But, wi I need a health problem solving for my child I wouldn't go to this man for medical expertise however close he is to William Lane Craig or God. If I wanted to solve any problem outside the arena of faith I wouldn't talk to him. If I wanted to know about mystical matters we could start talking, If I want to talk about miracles then we could talk about evidence and after talking about miracles he could demonstrate with the same probability, as the temperature of boiling water at sea level being demonstrated, which would be simple, then if he could produce a miracle of that level of probability we could explore the probabilités of the resurrection of a dead man. The laws of nature are real unlike the miracles of theology and fantasy??
I don't think, Mr. N.T. Wright was referring to the institution that we call as 'Church' today. Every spirit-led Christian makes up the body of Christ (the invisible Church), and that is what he was likely referring to.

"The powers of the world are called into account" is not what the Holy Spirit Advocate will do. The powers themselves will judge themselves on their last day or sooner, and sooner would be better if it were to lead them to straighten out this mess. Jesus said: "the Son only does what he sees his Father doing.' Jesus said: the Father judges no one in John 5:22. Jesus said he stands in judgment in John 8:15. Now, ask yourself this question: Why would Jesus lay into the Pharisees judging them severely in John 8:44? He wouldn't and didn't. Jesus said the world would be PROVEN wrong about sin, righteousness, and judgment in John 16:7-15 in the NIV, didn't he? Well, Jesus knew that the powerful who derived their power from the Law over the people of Israel-Palestine, would shade the NT to make Jesus seem like God of the Old Testament. Did you know that ninety percent of the people of that area were peasant farmers who farmed a small piece of land that barely supported their family without having to Tithe or pay taxes? Did you know the tax collectors often lent money to these poor people during the year to enable them to purchase daily necessities, but when it came to tax time since the land couldn't support the family, the Church Tithe, and the taxes, the farmer would lose their land which would eventually fall into the hands of the already wealthy and become part of a large farm enterprise. Smell a rat? We're going through that in a very serious way today. Well, let me get back to what the powerful and most people will do on their last day. When a person dies and their spirit separates from their body, they will judge themselves if they've rejected Jesus and Jesus's word according to John 12:47-48. Most people will judge themselves. How hard will they be on themselves? If they are powerful people who've divided the world against itself for profit and power, they likely will not like what they decide about their next stop on the eternal timeline. Anyhow, the Holy Spirit Advocate has been sent into the world by Jesus. Unfortunately, as the movie Young Messiah portrayed the young life of Jesus and one of the deleted scenes that indicated that Herod asked his Soothsayers if they should kill Jesus before he learned his mission, the Holy Spirit Advocate has had to deal with a much more sophisticated world and people who don't want to give up their power. Think about CIA projects Artichoke and MKUltra being used on the Holy Spirit Advocate starting almost at birth without the knowledge of his parents. In modern society where children are separated from their parents in pre-school and school, teacher operatives could carry out these programs without the other kids realizing what was actually happening. This is what happened. The world is slowly being shown Jesus' true word and things can and will get better. The Church, not the flock, has to decide if it wants to allow Jesus' true word to be taught. If it doesn't, the Church will continue to see its attendance and membership shrink. If the Church decides it will teach the true word of Jesus and become a place that teaches John 13:34-35 discipleship and John 17:20-23 Unity, it will reverse the negative trends the Church has been suffering from. Just because people leave the Church, doesn't mean they abandon Jesus, rather they leave because they feel something is wrong with a Church that sits in judgment of others and makes true John 13:34-35 discipleship almost impossible. I think, N.T.Wright meant exactly what you have said. By Church, he wasn't referring to the Institution. Rather, he was referring to every Spirit-led Christian who collectively constitute the body of Christ (the invisible church). The Holy Spirit will use the God-glorifying lives and grace-filled words of every Spirit-led Christian to convict others around us.
