How the Tuskens Made Boba Fett Strong

Star Wars Explained

My favorite scene from Chapter Four of The Book of Boba Fett was when Fennec said Boba's time with the Tuskens made him soft, and he asserts that it made him strong. The themes and lessons being explored in this show very much line up with the philosophies of George Lucas, and I can prove it by relating many events from Chapter Four back to the lessons Lucas wanted to teach in The Clone Wars.

Alex, I genuinely think this was some of your best analysis to date. You've peeled back so many narrative layers and deftly tied them back to Boba's past as a child and younger adult. This piece made me even more excited about this show and I thank you for that.

Something I absolutely love about Disney's era of Star Wars is the reinvention of old characters and tropes. Legends had so many things that never evolved or changed past their initial conditions. They just became more badass, more cool, more evil. They never changed or reflected on their mistakes. They never became human. I love that about the new Disney era, so many old characters are new again for great reasons.

Even in that episode they showed him completely demolishing that gang. I don't think his realization about the importance of family, and loyalty makes him a "good" guy. I think Boba has gone from a neutral evil to a lawful neutral. He still kills, threatens, and is a crime lord who allows drugs and a prostitution ring to flourish under him, but his guiding principles have changed from money and reputation to community/family
@williamnguyen8663
@williamnguyen8663 2 года назад
He isn't. Even the premise of the show, shows that he isn't on the light side. He's supposed to be a crime boss, he controls the crime. He's a true neutral force in the galaxy. He will allow crimes such as selling drugs, controlling shipments, slavery, etc. to run rampant, but he will make sure it only affects those who can handle it. Aka he isn't going to let kids get addicted to drugs, or be sold into slavery. Especially, after experiencing what a child being sold into slavery does to a person via anakin

I like that we're finally getting a redemption story in Star Wars. I know that "redemption" is a major theme in every story, but we haven't gotten a *real* redemption story, at least not on screen. Someone who has to fumble through the difficulties of being one way before and being very different now. Up to now, we've only ever seen people "redeemed" right before their death. And there is something missing in those stories. Because redemption takes work and healing and it's not done overnight. I was disappointed with the first episode of this series, but now I'm glad for the path it's taking us on.

You create many quality videos but this was the best of them. Really appreciate how you compare the lessons George tried to teach us decades ago and how they apply to a TV series today. One of the reasons the Star Wars saga is so special is throughout its history, no matter the visionary creating the content, the elements of the story remain consistent. Ive enjoyed this show so far. It's not perfect, but I like the cerebral route they're going with Boba's character. I'm glad other people can read between the lines and see that they're trying to add depth to Boba instead of making him a one note, violent, cold hearted quiet killer, which is ironically what many fans AND the galaxy at large see Boba as. The townspeople and many characters are confused at Boba and his new take on life, and in many ways they're are a stand in for the audience.

Thanks for this video. I've really enjoyed the Book of Boba Fett despite some vocal critics complaining that the series isn't as 'good' as Mandalorian where I've been enjoying it as much if not more than that series. Both are great for different reasons, but I feel the cast is much more diverse in BoBF, and I've been yearning for a Star Wars story to just please, for once, show us a series that doesn't have the Force as a huge central focus of the plot. Great as Mandalorian was, Din Djarin felt like a prop for his own series, little more important to the plot than his space ship, and while we did get some great dad/son interactions between him and the youngling, he ultimately offers little outside of being a tough bodyguard and even needs to be rescued by a Jedi in the end. Seeing Boba Fett work out his problems through diplomacy, intimidation, compromise, and a well-executed show of strength instead of just Force-powering every problem that comes his way is refershing. But I never could fully place why I enjoyed BoBF as much as I did, until now. Boba is trying to reinvent himself and I didn't quite pick up on that myself. Now I've got some insights into his decisions that I can go back and appreciate more.

The awakening from the sarlec pit is a rebirth into the womb of a new aion, The new age of reasoning, movies show this symbolic in a lot of sci-fi, the end of the old and being reborn from darkness into the light, great show this is?

I’m predicting that since Boba was made an official tusken by the tribe that took him in, he may use his knowledge and understanding of them to reach out and rally the other tribes of the Dune Sea as his own army. Even Jabba held no control of any kind over the Tuskens, but Boba may be the one to bring them under his leadership through mutual understanding and respect. He may offer them a chance for revenge against the Pykes who likely ordered the death of his tribe by the bikers.

I kind of hope that a cool idea for Fennecs charecter would be for an enemy to make a proposal to her that offers more than boba and offers more money, and she hesitantly takes it or at least conciders it and she goes back to what she knows next looking for her best interest and the life of a bounty hunter but then she soon realizes that the way these other crime bosses treat her and other bounty hunter's is unfair and understands what boba tried to tell her and she ends up betraying the enemy and comes back with boba realizing she can trust boba, I feel like it would make sense for her charecter and add depth to her and bobas new idealisms and the points he made about being in a tribe

I hope the pikes have hired bounty hunters of there own (Cad Bane?) it would be nice to see the bounty hunters hired by the pikes representing boba fett as he was before the sarlac.

If spending time with the Tusken Raiders makes you strong, then the Pakleds might benefit from going to Tatooine.

He also spared the palace guards, who then saved him from the Night Wind in chapter 1.
