I'm still mad at those idiots who decided to let Canada have the Oregon territory. Believe it or not, Western Canada would actually fit much better in the US than it does with Canada. It is completely detached from the Canadian cities, separated by thousands of miles and only a single road. On the other hand, the cities of the Western United States lay just to the south of British Columbia. Therefore, it would make a lot more sense for our border to go up to 54' 40. The entire Pacific Coast of Canada is far more interconnected with the United States. They have the Cascadian Culture, and would feel a lot more culturally tied to someone from Washington or Oregon, then to some Canadian from Quebec or Ontario. AND WE'D ALSO BE CONNECTED TO ALASKA. We really should have stuck with 54'40 or fight, the borders would make much more sense.

The technological advantage of the Europeans beat out the natives. The species as a whole advanced. As unnatural as you may thing humans have become, we fit the mold as well as any other animal.

Still ashamed that we never allowed any of the Native Tribes and Confederations to form this own state. There were a number of proposals over the years but it never happened, sadly it's long too late for that now. Personally the Dakotas and much of the mid west would of done them much justice, it's still territory that is lightly populated today.

It would be great to see an animation like this including some acknowledgment of the Native American tribes even though their borders were less well defined maybe and then also the treaty lands as they got divided up and turned into reservations and where those reservation borders still are.
