This is frankly, unbelievable. To make a WW1 tank in 5 months, operational and to scale with historical accuracy just blows my mind. Total respect and honor to those who fought and gave the ultimate sacrafice. Seriously, what a fantastic project to achieve by those who made Deborah II. May she fly the colors forever. Cheers
This rules. The appreciation of 20th century British engineering, the history, the passion that these people have to transform some raw materials into a whole tank It’s impressive, educational, but also entertaining. Timeline always has some excellent documentaries 😎
Got any tales to share of his overall experience I promise I'm not looking for any blood guts and gore stories just anything he might have shared with his loved ones. No pressure to respond
Very emotional for me. I think of all those who lost their lives too soon. Amazing work you've all done. Such talented people, who honored all those that sacrificed so long ago.
H.G. Wells, in his short story The Land Ironclads, published in The Strand Magazine in December 1903, had described the use of large, armed, armoured cross-country vehicles equipped with pedrail wheels (an invention which he acknowledged as the source for his inspiration), to break through a system of fortified trenches, disrupting the defence and clearing the way for an infantry advance.
...& Lo & Behold, there's one of the tank crew's grandsons, standing there talking about his grandfather, absolutely amazing, the connection, that is!👍🇺🇸😃
Imagine being a German Private in your trench seeing one of these beasts groan and rumble toward you, it must of been absolutely terrifying to see for the first time.
My hat's off to you men who pulled off something that is so acutely redone to ogrinal specs wonderful way to honor those who served and especially to those who gave all to keep other's free. As I've always said freedom is not free
I remember my grandfather telling me that his friend that fought back in World War I said the men that were lost, will never be forgotten and their bones will rise up from the ground in the trees along the fields. I wonder how accurate that is.
I have a question….. did the gov just loose the designs? Because I feel like these tanks are outdated by long enough that it shouldn’t be a secret anymore.
