@@The_Man_Who_Sold_the_World. when MacDonald's CEO is making billions a year. When Meijer CEO is making billions a year. Don't tell me these stores don't make enough lmao
LMAO. Man this shit accurate to the point. They had me stocking, cashiering, blowing up balloons, handling the phones, helping people and my shift only 4 hours long…wdf
nah dude same 😭 there’d be some long af lines and i was the only one working, manager did not care at all. people were yelling at me to open another register 💀
I’ve worked my entire life doing hard manual labor, mostly construction and carpentry and I wanted to get out of the trades for something I thought at the time would’ve been “a lot easier.” So about four years ago I applied at Dollar General and worked there for about three weeks before I quit a couple hours into my shift. I felt so overwhelmed and was on the verge of a panic attack. Needless to say I’ll take construction any day over that dogshit. Physically it’s way harder but it’s literally ten times less stress.
Idk about over there but here, construction and carpentry are good jobs. You'll have to work for your money and your back might be fucked by the age of 40, but it's good honest decent paid work.
Nah, I stg, I'm a regular at a family dollar and I've legit seen people have to pause loading shelves, run over to the register, and scan me out. That's why I'm always patient when they're struggling, Ik I couldn't do that job.
The unwavering determination of this worker. If you’re blessed with someone like this at a store don’t hassle them. They’re dealing with so much, especially peoples bullshit.
As a former Dollar General manager this is 1000% correct. I made really good money but a mandatory 6 day work week and shitty hours were we couldnt get anybwork done took a toll on me and i was out after 4 years.... fuck dollar general
Thought the exact same...they all good but he gonna show out someday... they definitely need their own little skit show on some type of streaming or whatever
As a former Dollar General employee, WHERE’S THE LIE?! LMAOOO. I was in management and many days I had to work night shift alone, so whenever someone asked for a manager I would literally just be like “I’m the manager, if you want someone else you’ll have to come back tomorrow.”
FOR REAL. Why do they never call the 2nd employee to go on another register when there is a long line? When's he's literally stocking a shelf only 10 ft away!
I swear these dollar stores wants you to be a: Cashier, manager, janitor, resupplier, security guard, boss, secretary of defense, soldier, astronaut, archeologist, news reporter, and Leader Of Galactic Command, all at once at the same time.
One of my first jobs was at a Dollar Tree.. we would have people come in asking for refunds on items, even on the food we sold and we couldn't refund them, only do exchanges and people became IRATE when I would explain this. People would come in and buy 1 item and hand me a $100 bill expecting me to make change, people became furious when the items were $1 plus tax.. "I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE DOLLAR STORE!!!" I thought when I first applied... it's the dollar store how hard can it be? Oh lord how I was wrong.
stop broo, youre giving me Dollar Store ptsd 💀 that is EXACTLY how it was for me too and that was my actual first job. i was so stressed out and when the prices went up to a dollar and a quarter… holy shit, customers were just yelling at me as if i set the prices
As a former dollar store employee, I can confirm, this is legit. I've broken up fights, called the cops, busted people stealing, cleaned up human urine in the dog food isle (I wish I was kidding), had my life threatened by a local crackhead because he didnt have enough money for his candy bar, and was often the cashier, stocker, and manager all at once. That was over 20 years ago and I still have PTSD from that place.
Bruh, half the time there is no manager in the store, and the employees just have to make do in that situation. Just gotta keep your cool until you're able to solve the issue or until the customer storms out.
Thank you for capturing the culture of our times. You all are golden. I hope you all stay friends and continue to be creative and make it rich together. You are really entertaining.
they be having then be the janitor, cashier, supervisor, counselor, drug dealer, photographer, electrician, plumber, baby sitter just a damn jack of all trades 😂
lmao drug dealer and they talking about ppl destroying their own local economies with riots when these companies be giving jobs like this. We aint just running the stores ourselves but the whole damn corner to feed our kids lmao
@raghav kaushik 055 *Day be having dem be da janita, cashear, supavisa, consour, pusha, camraman, lectrictian, plumba, baby sitta jus a dam jack of all trades* Get yo ebonics strat foo
Pretty sure the dude at mine was a lifeguard, registered nurse, driving instructor, and an MLB pitching coach in addition to the 20 jobs Dollar Store employee covers
This is literally what it was like for me working at Dollar General, especially when I had a coworker that would get very angry easily. Had to mainly run the register while he stocked the back shelves and I managed the front. They would have maybe 4+ employees in the morning and only have two for second shift and we'd be responsible for anything and everything first shift crew didn't do or what they did wrong. And we'd get yelled at for not completing "our work" or CBL's because of the amount of work they'd throw onto us and the kicker is when they fuck up their tills and money drops. At EOD if the deposit is short we have to find the money or we get in trouble, but they only want you there for only 15 minutes after closing and any more could be a write up. Especially if you have a manager that is trigger happy when it comes to write ups, forgot to close the backroom door and try to go back in after clocking out? Write up. Left alone in the store on thanksgiving day and start having a panic attack because of the amount of yelling and screaming by customers, causing you to not think clearly and call someone on the phone for help? Get threatened with losing your job. Oh, you want a promotion and a raise? Well be ready to do 75% of what the assistant manager does and only get a ¢50 raise for it, now go fuck yourself and get blamed for everything that doesn't get done even tho you do your best for $10.50. Been with the company for 8 years and the minimum wage went up by $2 and you are ¢30 over before that happened? What you expect us to raise your pay when someone that starts after that day get's almost the same pay as you do? Go fuck yourself.
I work at Dollar General 😂😅 I can confirm. Clean, cashier, help customers, stock, recover, all of it. Sometimes you're the only one in the store. Sometimes there is somebody else somewhere
These dudes are a trip. It's always real world stuff from common everyday regular things. And they capitalize on these little things and make them hilarious. Success will come their way. 🙏😁
The one taking the breaks gets promoted while the one who has to do everything is expendable. The one that gets promoted gets all the credit and the one that is expendable gets no credit. It has nothing to do with work and more to do with keeping things running.
Yo this old, but I just saw it and its all facts. Im rolling. My family look at me and laugh everytime they talk about getting something from a dollar store because they know how I felt working at one. It was an episode of "Nonsense" every day. Salute yall...you guys have come a long way.
“Damn... only one guy came in today...” *one?* “Yeah he’s out their owning the store, pushing the carts, being the manager, cleaning the store, working the night shift, being the cashier, helping people find their needs, organizing the shelves and delivering packages all at the same time...”
I work at Dollar General where I have to leave the register to go look for my Manager which takes up time & shouldn’t be necessary. I keep complaining about this & us not having enough workers at night. We should have walkie talkies & 4/5 night employees so lot more things can get done along with allowing employees on register to have keys, so they don’t have to search for the manager or close the register & wait until he/she get back from something like lunch. I recently had to close my register because I couldn’t void or even reload a customer’s card without the manager’s key, who left to go get herself some lunch, so I had to send them to the self-checkout, which irritated me & them especially customers who also wanted to load a card or activate one.
I had one tell me where an underground gambling ring was located in the city, like mf if you keep telling everybody where it is, it won't be there for long lmao
This is literally how it is. I worked at Dollar General for 5 years and you are literally doing everything. Stocking, cashiering, janitorial, and managerial duties, and they only wanna pay $8.25 hell nah.
I work at dollar general as in this month and yep I mean I’m in the floor but now they want me to do cashier Ive only been here for at least three weeks come on now, I had to work a 12 hrs shift because ppl don’t wanna show up to work like wtf u fat ass bitches, mind u I’m 18 and still school
Yeah. They seriously need to have AT LEAST one employee on shift at all times who is in charge of stocking and recovering. Like if it's not busy, cashier can help, but it gets so fucking busy in those places that the cashier being told to do recovering, stocking, cleaning, etc it's just fucking too much. I worked there for 4 months and I had to quit cause my store had like 4 people total working there and it was HELL. I was gonna get fired soon anyways cause my recovering was never good enough, but that's because I was bveing pulled away from the floor every 30 seconds to help a customer! It's just ridiculous.
@Peter S. I was putting myself through school. I went from a cashier to key holder to assistant manager while putting myself through school, I was able to pretty much make my own schedule without worrying about wether or not I had a job.
So true I was an dg manager for years... And specially through covid they expect you to do everything by you're self. I was putting around 110-120 hours in just trying to keep my store perfect it's not an healthy balance
What do you mean "even at minimum wage"? That's like the rule for minimum wage workers. Exploit them for the lowest possible pay and squeeze every last bit of productivity out of their "ungrateful", poor asses.
@@chris052692 yeah, I’ve never had a job before (ffs 22 and still can’t manage to get hired anywhere bc I didn’t work in high school) but from my own observation, it seems like the higher up you get, the _less_ you have to do. All the work gets pushed down the line.
Uh what? Hell no. I'd tell my employees to keep the other customers away and let them fight it out while I call the cops. None of us get paid enough to get hurt on the job protecting dollar merchandise.
No one gonna talk about how they in a legit dollar store and they was able to do an entire skit bc that ONE person was probably like " yea yall can do a skit"💀
There will always be that one caring, polite, middle aged lady who you work with, who never seems stressed, always trying to support you from behind the tills. 😂😂
The fact that the customers don't understand the struggle happening right in front of them is the realest part of the whole video. They just add on to the problem.
Yeah. Had one dude who came in through our front saying he saw how long our drive thru line was all the way to the streets and was laughing about it as if he wasn't adding to the problem. Me and my Manager were so annoyed. What pissed me off though was because our line wasn't actually that long because we got our orders out quickly, by the time he came in we were down to four-five cars, why he felt the need to tell us this as if he was doing us a favor is what I found the most triggering. If he got it right I wouldn't have mind. I just become annoyed when people embellish the truth. lmao. Bitch you don't think we can't see what's outside the window?! (we have a window that can see all the way out to the streets)
@@SuperKagomefan Fast food sucks I remember a guy who came in and ordered. We were really backed up in the drive thru at the time. The guy got mad and was like "I came in and ordered to get past the drive thru where is my food." Like he thought when he place his order it just skips past all the other ones or something lol
Watching this clip after working a 9 hour shift where half the staff called in sick so you have to cover the door, the orders, the customer service. This is too accurate lmao
Legitly that was times I was running the whole store by myself being nothing but a cashier not even manager why they sitting out there and they car smoking 50 minute cigarette
As an assistant manager I would never do that. But I know a lot of managers that do that. Hell my store manager doesn't even know what he doing at all.
Y'all need to stop BAHAHAHAHAHA I was in line for SEVEN MIUNTES in Dollar Tree on Wednesday because of a similar situation! It looked like there was only ONE person in the store stocking shelves, vacuuming the floor, running the register and putting air in the balloons 😂
As a dollar tree employee, I can confirm there probably was only one employee. They usually only have one cashier and one manager in the entire store because they're too cheap to pay for more workers.
Bruh I swear working at family dollar gotta be so lonely, imagine going to the break room and eating your lunch talking to the walls because you the only one working 🤣🤣🤣
Bro I work at Dollar General and this is too accurate bro💀, the amount of times I've held up a line to help everyone else cuz my manager evaporated into thin air, is crazy
I have been going to dollar tree all my life and ive never seen more than 2 active cashiers simultaneously. Everyone there has my eternal gratitude and respect
