Bro, I once ordered form popeyes. Pulled up to the window, they said it’ll be five minutes. Once the jokes started kicking in they were laughing and having a good time and deadass forgot about me. I kept knocking on the window after 10 minutes. After they realized they forgot about me dude just laughed it off like “my bad man, here just have the combo for free”. Mixed feelings dawg, free combo, but my ass waited while I watched them forget i was there. They probably laughed more about what they did.

Popeyes is like an abusive relationship. They hate you so much, but you keep coming back.

The inspiration for this was Mark going to a popeyes after he got back from a trip in Dallas. Mark had ordered a four piece chicken combo and when he got the order and opened the box, he only had three chicken pieces in it. When Mark went back up to the register to ask for his extra piece, the lady groaned at him and slapped the extra chicken piece into his box 😆😆😆

I saw this and, having never been to Popeyes, thought “there’s no way it’s that bad.” Well, let me tell you: I saw a Popeyes a few weeks ago, and decided to get in line for the drive through, being a solid hour early to an appointment. The line was taking a while, so I tried to go inside but the inside was closed because “they were short staffed” as a crudely scribbled paper sign taped to the door informed me. So, I got back in line-no problem, I’ve still got 50 minutes to spare... Well, 40 minutes later, I’m just pulling up ordering intercom. This has been the slowest line I’ve ever been in. Finally at the ordering stage, I extend a polite, yet hardy, greeting over the intercom. Dead fucking silence. I wait 5 minutes and the try again. Absolutely no response. Again after another 5 minutes. At this point, I’m panicking. I’m going to be late, and I’ve got a dilemma: if the intercom doesn’t work, then I’m just holding up the line for no reason-but if the intercom works and I pull up to the window, then they’re probably going to be upset with me. I figure YOLO and pull up to the window; I’m already late to my appointment. When I finally pull up to the window, it’s at that point I knew that this story was an instant classic. There were NINE uniformed employees visible in the window, and five of them seemed to just be standing around doing nothing. I had to explain that I didn’t order at the intercom because I assumed it was out of order, and-by some miracle-they let me place an order at the window. Recalling the menu as printed on the display by the intercom, I order “the sandwich, spicy”, which was the first item on the menu, essentially verbatim. The lady working there shoots me a confused look and ask me, “Which sandwich?” Now I’m flustered. Have I misread the menu? I attempt to clarify: “the spicy variety of the no. 1 on the menu.” She’s obviously getting annoyed and asks, “how am I supposed to know what you think the number one item on the menu is?” I’m at my wit’s end, and simply say, “please just give me a regular chicken sandwich.” Apparently, that’s good enough for her, and she asks me to wait. By the time I get my sandwich, I’m missing my appointment. At this point, I’m thinking “how can these people stay in business? This customer experience was so absurdly inconvenient that its sheer whimsy entertained me.” Well, I ate that sandwich and, dare I say, it was worth it.

I was delivering for UberEats, had a Popeyes order, parked, was walking towards the entrance, heard a customer and the employee arguing at the drive-thru, then I decided to cancel the order, get back in my car and find other orders, I think I saved myself a lot of time and frustration lol

I worked at Popeyes over ten years ago and could not believe how mean the atmosphere was. I had a manager who got upset with me because I was friendly with the customer and asked how many sauces he wanted and I got picked on because I was just like the guy using the tongs and putting the chicken in the box carefully. My fellow coworkers could not stand I was handling the food with such care. I actually cook gourmet meals at home so it was just in me. I was so miserable when I was working there but this skit still had me crying laughing.

As a guy who worked in a Popeyes, this is pretty accurate. You forgot about the 6’5 line cook speaking in a different language.
