In this episode on Tekniq, we venture into a gigantic landfill site in Indonesia where all types of waste are separated, followed by plastic bottles being recycled to make pipes
This kind of makes me proud of the collection of plastic containers from products and take out food that are stronger last longer then those sold empty for storage. But got to have rules for what to keep or theres an avalanche everytime open cupboards door.
So there's 3 ways to recover value out of garbage: 1 don't consume so much and then there's less to throw when it's broken (90% broken within 2 years) 2. Separate value out at home: Aluminium, #3 HDPP = Polypropylene: worth $1800 a tonne. 3. Export it to Indonesia and let the poor sort out the man's shite in danger. Your CHOICE !
This film gives better solutions 12 mins in. The ignorance in recycling shown at the beginning of this film is phenomenal. The Global Warming impact of this garbage dump is enormous. Much of the waste appears to be food waste, rotting badly in waterproof, plastic bags. This creating masses of methane that just (hopefully) escapes to the atmosphere. This is 4x more warming than CO2. If it doesn't escape, it accumulates. One strike of lightening and the whole lot explodes into a toxic fireball of smoke for everyone local to inhale. The pastics recovered there, needs to be formed into kitchen caddies & compost bins for food waste, capturing the valuable materials as a plant fertiliser. This massively removes odour, rats, human infection and methane production. But even after extracting energy from waste, this film doesn't explain what happens to the ash. What toxics are in that?
@@ГригорийГромов-в7й я имел ввиду, что птицы умнее , не будут лазить по этой вони и гадости, и уж тем более что то употреблять . И да, птиц действительно не видно , хотя корма здесь найти можно.
You took the word right out of my mouth. We don't have an problem with waste. We have a recycling problem. Separation of useful material that way is too expensive for Germany. Many very worthy things could be produced from it, so as pipes, pavement and others. As long as combusting this stuff in there won't be change.
Likely some seperate videos not even related. Also at the "landfill" correctly landhill they aren't sorting, just some poor people in danger between heavy materialhandler equipment picking some stuff up. In Germany it would be called "Restmüll"/garbage, but not so mixed. Too much plastic, biomass, paper, maybe glass in there. The bottles aren't recycled, but downcycled. What are those laughable tiny boxes? Do they not have bigger bins for glass at central places instead of having one at each home? Besides where is it? Small low populated island with small villages?
I don't understand how this is unfair? On one side is the peak of wealth and on the other side is the bottom of poverty. There is no justice in this world. I hope there is justice in the world after death.
