You've got it all wrong my friend. While jews indeed live in Morocco, this has been the case for thousands of years, And yes Morocco protected Moroccan Jews from the Nazis. But they do not specifically live in Chefchaouen. So the blue color has nothing to do with jewish culture. It was a relatively new decision from city officials (few decades) and nobody really knows for sure why they picked this color. So while all the talk about jews being protected in Morocco is true, it has nothing to do with the color. All we know is that it works repelling Mosquitoes, it brings joy and beauty and yes, tourists as well.

Tourism it's just good for the government and a few ppl... Look at what hapen here in Portugal, in Lisbon, for exemple, since the tourism boom, renting a 500€ house, it's now around 2000€ these days, this start's to be impossible to regular citizens, and most of the ppl who are living there, have to leave, because the owners just get greedy about that, so, we saw last years that, major of ppl have their lives ruined by the tourism explosion...
