I used to manage a tire center. We refused to do this when clowns would come in and ask. It's all fun and games until you take a corner too fast and pop the beads off if one or more tires. I thought this trend would die but people just stay dumb.
If it’s a show or off road vehicle I’m absolutely cool with it. But drive that nonsense on our roads and it should be impounded. Really cool technique and honestly they look cool on low riders, but stay off the streets.
@@john-paulsilke893 Exactly, i understand being young and dumb. I used to do the same thing, but i will never drive a car with extreme stretched tires on public roads. A little bit is ok but when you have to start using a cheetah or light it on fire, that’s when it gets extreme. Looks cool, but i wouldn’t trust it on the road. I already know what it’s like to debead on the highway, not dumb enough to do it again.
@@Hi-vy9lu I'm not sure which you're referring to. He used zip ties to get the beads over the rim then cut them off. He used a ratchet strap around the cap to push the bead of the tire toward the bead seat of the rim. Then a modified air tank to put a significant blast of air into the tire to set the bead.
Yes, plus then it's like having a puncture! You have to wait for recovery to pick you up, or you might be lucky and fit a spare wheel. When you go extreme with things like this, such as crazy lowering or stretching tyres, you have to live with more potential inconveniences!
I just wonder how well the front tire loads when you apply the front brake after stretching it like that, or how the tire performs in tight corners at speed!?! At low speeds I’m sure it will be ok, but….🤔
I had size are the tires? Michelin right? 12x6 12x4 I’m trying to decide what rubber to put in them. Your videos are amazing and inspiring!!! Hard for me to choose between the Michelins or the white walls Curios what size rubber your stretching in these rims
Congrats you made a tire that may look good at low speeds but is hazardous to everyone around if you go fast and try to turn, and by fast I mean 45 mph m+
Question. If you get a flat do you kiss your rim goodbye? Asking because I have a 21" front rim with a low profile tire that's the proper width, and I've rode it 10 miles without any air in it with no damage to the rim. Thanks for answering.
Dumbest thing you could ever do on any vehicle. After working on cars and running shops for 15 years, I have NEVER seen good results from stretching tires. Look how dumb this is - using zip ties to install tires. Why and why again?! Stupid people just need to be put somewhere so they can’t hurt themselves and others 😢
