Pretty sure you could drop that 150 and put a Lifan 230 direct bolt in on that thing. Looks like the same exact engine, just different bore. They're all basically copies of an old honda engine.
I would highly suggest putting bearing grease on the axle and swing arm bolts as they can rust a little bit when they get wet and be a pain to get back out. Had to do that on both my Grom and my dads
First time watching your videos and am intrigued, plus I like it soo much how there is no songs at all in the entire video keep up the good work respect
I got the lifan kp mini and I'm about 250 lb and I can get up to about 50 mph cruising through town I love it I have such a blast I've had mine for over a year and all I've done to is change the front sprocket and rejet the carburetor with absolutely no problems 700 miles on it and no problems
I just put together an X pro Templar 250. Some caveat if you’re going to put on a Nibbi carburetor buy some extra fuel line and American made stainless steel hose clamps and run your fuel line off of your Nibbi before you install it. It will save you an amount of time and frustration that’s worth every penny for the extra fuel line. I also put a navy ignition and an NGK iridium spark plug on the bike. Do this while it’s all tore down it’s very simple. when you start adding parts everything becomes more and more complex and harder to get to. With the spark plug chances are you never ever going to have to change it. If you are even think of changing the gear ratio which I did it’s so much nicer to do it on an absolutely clean bike and putting a high-quality chain on while you’re doing this I would recommend. For the rubber parts such as the bodywork A little bit of clear Vaseline as well as on the fairing bolts as well. It will keep your rubber from deteriorating just a little bit longer. If you do buy a chain do yourself a favor buy a chain breaking tool learn how to rivet the chain on and don’t use the master link type that can uncouple. Just some thoughts I tend to keep my stuff and take care of it for a long time. I hope this helps
I bought a Lifan GY 5 200cc dualsport from a local dealer in 2006. 1650 OTD. It is now 2024 and I will be riding it as I have every summer since 2006. Bike has needed tires, batteries, oil changes and valve adjustments. Has been a very good bike.
You should have bought a Lifan KP Mini 150. Lifan bikes are really good quality. In 2006 I bought a LF20 GY 5. This is a 200 cc Lifan Dual Sport. from a local dealer. It is now 2024 and I plan on riding it again as I have every summer since I bought it. It has been like a Honda as far as reliability goes. One rear tire batteries and tune ups and valve adjustments and oil changes. Just a great bike. Lifan has a great reputation. Oh well good luck.
I had older Husqvarna Cross bike chassis with no engine, bought lifan 450 engine like 3 years ago and i build a "Cross tourer" bike i use to get to my summer cottage, only thing i did was changed plugs and bought better carb, i`ve beaten that motor so hard during years nyt it just goes and goes... No huge Power output but decent torque and good mileage and it always Crank up,Even in low temps -25°c / -14 F Best 500 i`ve invest😂
I’m late to this but aren’t they both xpro? I don’t know much about these hence why I’m watching the video but Ive sorta realized they all have the same engine just different sizes, just rebranded?
My /2006 Lifan LF 200 GY5 is running just fine in 2024 with only oil changes, valve adjustments, tires, and batteries. nothing else. No loose bolts no broken bolts.no electrical problems. Nothing but riding pleasure. Lifan is a happy medium between his cheap bike and a Honda. I would buy another in a heartbeat. Buy the way it was bought from a local dealer who also sold Yamaha. 1650.00 OTD.
How does this compare to a Grom/Z125, if you want to ride like a hooligan and do some off-roading that Honda Groms are capable of? If you put it together correctly, loctite and grease everything, do all the upgrades that make sense, off-road tires, better hardware, etc... is there any aftermarket exhaust and any suspension upgrades available? Can this bike be hooligan-capable and constantly bang off the rev limiter without big issues?
@iHaveTheDocuments the assemblers don't care. I worry about China products especially the food and actually metals used in machinery. Nevertheless the Vader seems to be a good ride for at least a few months to perhaps a couple of years.
Just to let you know they did change the name but that's because they got rid of the condor for legal purposes they also change the company which they hold the license under but kept the X pro. It's a Chinese legal loophole that stops them from ever having to claim liability or replace anything down the line if they caught doing something very scammy
I am buying a Hawk dlx 250 efi soon (used) I wanted a Honda crf 300l but I am a prime example of Champagne taste on a tap water budget! I like the option of both electric and kick start ,like the old bikes.
I just got a Honda 300L. I’d suggest just wait a bit and save your $ for the Honda. It’s an amazing bike. You can find them used for about $5000. It’s well worth the wait and the price
@@Daverazzi I could probably finance a used one from the dealership. You are right, on facebook marketplace there are some in the $5,000.s as well as 450's for a little more. The Hawk is definitely not a highway bike, top speed before mods of 65mph. Both bikes don't have the crazy maintenance schedules the Huskies
These 150cc are typically way more powerful than the 125cc horizontal cylinder engines(except actual name brand japanese bikes) as there is more room for larger valves in the head.
Dude if you want your rubber fuel & oil lines to last for more than 2 years change em for a better rubber. Im sure they use non braden vacuum line and fuel destroys it
Not gaining 10 mph just regearing it so the odometer reads 10 mph higher… not trying to troll just letting ya kno….. but it does help with low end torque tho
My Honda Shadow 750 is scary to ride in the city I would absolutely have anxiety with this lol My K1200 is ok for city driving as it will out accelerate even the craziest driver lol 😂
I would have tossed that Chinese battery from the get go,,that one is going to give you issues and very soon. I would go to the Honda dealership and get a Grom battery, fork out the extra 100 bux
With these China bikes, you have to be willing to troubleshoot and tinker a bit, as that is where your cost savings are. If that is no good, then spend real money and buy a Grom. Lots of people are learning to wrench or look up troubleshooting videos and broadening their wrenching skills with these bikes. I don't see too many people complaining about quality as much as they are happy to have some reasonable, cheap riding. Ya sometimes the details are missed on the china bikes, but parts are available and people are working ways around the issues, still at huge cost savings over established brands.
we all know damn well that bike has nothing but 8mm, 10mm, 13mm, 14mm, and 21mm :P but yo! i've been in the same boat as far as the market for a grom goes!
Interesting review dude looks and sounds like a sweet ride, and jeez it must be so nice to be able to leave your vehicles, $4k worth of wheels and bikes out on the front yard without worrying about some low life douche bag just coming along and helping themselves to your stash, here in the UK we daren’t leave our bikes unattended anywhere not even parked at the side of the house cos if we do they walk, the cops are a joke they couldn’t catch a cold plus they’ve been told not to chase the scrotes on your stolen bike just in case they crash and hurt themselves 😡. Ride safe bro, subscribed !
Yes it will I have the lifan kp mini150 and I weigh 250 I'm 5'11 and I ride around town all day can get it up to about 50 mph Don't let anybody tell you different I've had mine for a year
I get that they are china bikes... And you can not expect a TON out of them.. However these bikes have been existing for YEARS now with these odd little issues like this.. Its really a bummer that 4/5/6 years later stuff like this is still happening with them. Not a HUGE deal... but a major inconvenience that should be easily avoidable.
@@lmfscrew Bruh my eyes are wide open - used Groms are only $2500 and aren't assembled by monkeys in a zoo like that Vader - plus they are bulletproof and will last 10 times longer than that Chinese junk...
I was talking about your mindset. Your immediate reaction is to attempt to insult. Projection. I bet you have comments just like it flooded all over youtube. But hey I'm the conservative with 8th grade education driving a "$70K" cHeVy SiLvErAdo so what do I know.
@@lmfscrew What exactly am l projecting? I have a Masters degree and drive a K24 Honda... I'm just tired of all the FJB t-shirts and you all blaming him for gas prices when you choose to drive THE least fuel efficient vehicles on the planet!
You have a masters degree and can't see you're the only one talking about politics? I made a video showcasing an affordable alternative to a honda grom. I don't recall mentioning joe, t-shirts, gas prices or my truck in this video. Matter of fact I never talk politics on this channel because it's a brain dead conversation as you're showcasing. I'll quit the bickering here. Have a good one Anthony. Go touch some grass and try living without political animosity.
