In this video I want to show you how to 180 across a slope on a snowboard. This is next step after standing 180's, and this will prepare you for doing 180's on a jump. By doing 180's across the hill on your snowboard, you'll learn how to create the line that sets up the 180, the timing you need to put your snowboarding and 180 together, and how to 180 in all directions including switch. Go out and practice 180's across the hill focusing on carving that line, timing everything together, and spinning your snowboard in all directions. I got them all but switch back side 180 on side jumps and small park. They add styles to the ride. I'm very happy thanks to your vdo. Now i'm gonna try to throw 360 and grabs and hit the medium park before the season ends. Cheers from Seattle!

Just really commit doing the full 180. Think about looking over your should so you can see the landing, and focus on landing on your heel edge. Good luck, let me know how it goes!

Yeah, that board is big for doing park and tricks. I would recommend a park board around 156.

Landing a bit on you toe side edge will for sure help you stop the rotation. You don't always have to, just land the way that feels right to you.

Just break it down into three parts. Being on your edge, the wind up, and the pop. For the front 180 really focus on the getting your heel edge into the snow and getting a good jump off you heel edge. Let me know how it goes!

Thanks Kevin, learned the best intermediate turn from your another video this year. Quick question for 180 here. I felt like not jumping high enough and couldn't complete 180(maybe only 140). When I jumped, the board was dragging my leg and won't let me leave the ground high enough, do you have any idea/guess what's going wrong with me? Tks! :D

jump to what ever is comfy just do it on flat and whereever you are more balanced on or controlled

Thanks Kevin! This is my best tutorial. I tried all of them and got the front sides dialed but I find back sides are kinda weird cos I don't see the landing spot. Often times I landed on my toe side (90 degrees) when I hit the side jumps. Any suggestions? And most of the time if I pull it off I land on my tail..

Im just getting big into park now and the best parks i ride are at hunter and gore in new york and i wanted to know if u had any tips for increasing my skill in the park overall on boxes rails and small and medium hits... I know how to do tricks but when i get on the takeoff of the jump or about to get onto the rail or box i freeze up and puss out of what i want to do and just do a 50-50 or basic air but i want to get past the fear and gain confidence so i was wondering if u had any tips for me

Do you land flat, or on the edge you jumped from, or the other edge? (I mean, for example, if you jump off on your toe edge, do you land on your toe edge, heel edge or flat?)

Hey Kevin, I'm riding regular and I already mastered the clockwise 180's (BS 180, Switch FS 180), but I find it really hard to do the counter clockwise 180's (FS180, Switch BS 180) Any tips? BTW nice vid!

hey dude, the first thing i tried which was easy was riding down the hill, then lose speed by turning up the hill, better part of 180 and then ollie180 back to regular and avoid switch for the time being. Because you lose a lot of your speed in the turn, it's fairly hard to hurt yourself also. What would you call that?

i´ve got a question when i´m doing a frontside 180, i get into the rotation on my backside edge. my teacher last year told my, that i always have to try land flat. but to stop the rotation while landing i must land a bit on the frontside edge, don´t i?

But... the mechanics don't change between regular and goofy. The exact same tips and advice apply to ANY technique, just mirrored to the body's other side to fit the stance you prefer.
