Thanks for showing the actual process and the struggles you encountered. I hate videos that say, “first, you have to remove the transmission” and then they cut immediately to,”okay, now that it’s out, you have to remove the engine…”.
I used your video to upgrade my steering wheel. I also installed some Laramie heated and cooled seats which has the control module (under the drivers seat) that controls the heated wheel. Only difference, I had to use alphaobd to tell the bcm to allow the seats and steering wheel to function! Needless to say to anyone else that is doing this mod, if it doesn’t turn on right away it still can be done!!!
Adam, I just did the heated wheel upgrade to my 17 Ram Express. Replaced the wheel, clock spring and the switch panel. For now I just have the manual switch. Everything is connected but heat function on the wheel doesn’t work. Checked the fuse box and the required fuse is there and appears to be a good fuse. Do I need the dealer to flash the computer?
@@chrisrash6479 personally, I would purchase the alpha obd program and the obd link tool and turn it on yourself. I’m certain a dealer can do it but they are hit and miss on what they are willing to do. So the answer is “yes” have a dealer program it or program it yourself.
@Adam Cliff, thank you! Do you know if there’s anything else I need to make the heated steering wheel work since I’m using only the manual switch for now?
Can you please help as i am also going to Install those seats in tradesman edition. Please tell is there is any kind of wiring pre installed in this trucks or do i have to run all new wires.
Did you have to do anything beside plug and play under the seats for the seats to work? Or was it literally bolt in, plug in, and replace the OEM button area.
Hi Thanks for the video I’m on the process of upgrading my 2015 ram LST I already did the 8.4 radio bezel, canter console, I like these changes so I continue with the heat steering wheel but I have one cable extra on the steaming wheel now you teach me what to do next My question is if I can install heated seats on my LST I can’t find enough information about I only have like 5 wires on The harness
I have a 2013 Ram 1500 sport, i have the leather seats with the ventilated center on the seats, but my truck doesnt have the heated seats, do i just need to replace the center control like u did? Or will i need wiring and all that?
Lololol 😂. I honestly don’t see why not, especially if it’s a manually adjustable mechanism. But if it’s motorized, that might be a different ball game.
Hey man, great video! So, I have a 2017 big horn and its equipped with heated seats but I don’t have the switches to use them. Can I add the switch’s to my existing control center or do I need to replace that with switches that are already built in? I hope this makes sense.
Gotta replace with one that already has the switches from what I recall. Because that whole panel has one connector in the back and it’s not where each button has its own connector if that makes sense. I’m pretty sure you can find em cheap on ebay or parts yards around you! Everything was plug and play for me, no programming was needed as well
Possibly. As long as you bring over all the right parts. I believe that would be the steering wheel, clockspring and the actual buttons/module if i can recall.
@@MJAltairy I think you’re the only guy that knows how to do that’ I tried to ask all the car custom shops and nothing bro smh even the ram dealer specialists and said no but they don’t wana deal with it
@@MJAltairy if I get the parts can you do it for me I’d pay you whatever you charge me brother? You have a number of anything where I can reach you personally ?
