This is a GREAT contribution. Of the several other similar YT efforts that I have been able to find, this is clearly the best one. It is clear, concise and thorough. It shows how to take the top apart, then how to erect it again. The most helpful is the section about how to release the cable connectors and then reattach them. I learned so much from watching it and can't thank Tyler enough for taking the time to produce it.
Had to replace the radiator cap on my Boxter and the only way to get to it is how you described. Did it and it worked PERFECTLY! Thank you so much.... would never have tried without this video and if I did I would have broken something. Thanks again, saved me plenty $$
Awesome video. Just used it to replace my leaking coolant cap - common issue. The carpet reinstall was def the most difficult part. Overall watching and pausing the video job took 40 mins overall.
Thanks a ton! I am selling my S3 and getting a 981 Boxster. This was intimidating! you made is do-able! Im not gunna lie though...if ur upgrading anything....just do it all at once :P
Very useful thanks for sharing. I have the 981 workshop manual. It shall be cayman and boxster applicable, but the engine access part for boxster seems missing😢
Omfg the first video that shows how to get access to that rear window!!!! Thank you!!!!! Curious when you moved it back to 18.5" did you have to manually move it by hand or use the switch to open it from 4"?
To be fair it only took 8 minutes to get to the engine, so it’s not the end of the world. Service intervals are every 2 years , which is good, but the downside is you will probably have forgotten how to do this properly again by the time it becomes due ! I am just wondering how many times a typical 981 owner will do this in over the period they own the car? Probably not very often I’ll bet. Plenty maintenance tasks are done from either under the car or from behind the bulkhead.
