I can so easily feel overwhelmed by a goal, which then results in procrastination and inertia. This video has reminded me to zone in on my why, to keep a sense of perspective, and to focus on presence and enjoying the journey rather than just 🎉honking about the goal. Thank you, Ven Nick. This has been so helpful 🙏
As a attendee at your Lancaster gathering it was smoothly presented and so much love and peace flowed with the meditation. Yes the chairs were a tad squeaky so i just moved onto the floor comfortably. You and Brother Michael left a palatable imprint on many of us that night that i continue to carry daily. Meditation daily is so important. It changes ones life, how one views it and how one lives it. Bless you Venerable Nick for coming into my life. Bless the work you and Brother Michael are doing. You both were born to do this. Sadhu
Thank you so much for sharing Jacqueline! That’s so beautiful. I’m glad it resonated with you and that you’re practicing meditation daily. Please keep up the great work 😊
I can add that those stepping stones between you and your goal can be more important than your actual goal. For example when i desided that i need better relationships, one of my stepping stones was improving my communication skills. And when i started to learn what it is i realised that this is a whole new world to me. After some practice my life changed for the better. It felt like i never spoke to anyone up to that point. 😅
This year at 60 , I have 2 goals for past year , to teach myself piano , which I know will take years , and to get in best shape , I am working every day at these goals , thank you for your help . I will keep these things you say in mind .
@@buddhaexhumed9922 we are all Buddha in us ourselves. Buddhism is wonderful and no matter the name was given to the man who spread it, no matter the region it was spread as long as we take the words to our heart and conscience and use His wisdom to live this life, knowing that all we will inherit is the consequence of our actions and thoughts
Hello Venerable Nick, long time no hear LoL. I've been pretty busy with life such as yourself. I have pretty much learned to have an open mind with everything. I appreciate you taking the time to teach us your ways spiritually as well as mentally, physically and emotionally. I'm keeping an open mind and meditating 💜💜. Take care
@@billytheweasel thank you. I have been trying to keep an open mind for so long then I gave up for about qla week due to some doubt and other stuff then an a-ha moment came and allova sudden I heard, keep an open mind LoL
Hi Nick, what you are saying is so true, I think fear is the number one obstacle to people achieving goals and negative self-talk is a big part of it. Take the example of the meditation event you talked about. Many people think of doing something like this but are so afraid of it not being successful that they wouldn't even start the process. The key is the shift in mindset, a person must try things and not be afraid of failure otherwise you get stuck in your comfort zone. I am guilty of this as well, so I needed this!
This video, for me was PERFECT timing! I also was able the Lancaster, PA meditation service and got to speak with both you and Michael. I shared with you that I found out I may be losing my job - the following week it did happen. This past month I have been job hunting and going on multiple interviews for a wide array of different jobs - and it’s SO overwhelming and I’m guilty of overthinking and wanting to get to “Z” NOW! This video was a good reminder of the steps and process - and I’ll never forget that you told me to ‘keep it neutral’ and I’ve been trying my best to keep that my mantra this past month. Appreciate your videos - this one hit home today and I needed that reminder. Thank you 🧡
So much light and clarity against that diffuse feeling that something was wrong in thee way I was trying to achieve the goals. Thank very much! You are a treasure in the internet.
Such wonderful advice. May we all find patience, and be easy on the self judging. One small step at a time leads to many steps taken. We can't help but reach the end goal. Have a blessed weekend. 💙
Thank you Ven Nick, what has helped me reach my goals is to asks lots of questions of the people, who know more about the goal I'm trying to reach, ie at the moment I'm seeking new glasses, another thing I do is to write my questions down, I have also asked my self what are my needs right now, then I go with an open mind, sending you love and light 🌞
Hey Nick. Keep the sharing going. You are my marker apart from Jesus. I am trying to adopt the wisdom from Buddhism, calm the mind, neutral observation, breathe and morality along with the love of Christ. Compliments each other. Thank you for coming into my life. I am transforming to be a better version of me. God bless you always… ❤️🏳️🌈🌈🤟
Recently, I have set a goal for my professional life. Part of me was frustrated that I had not made this goal before. But, i had to go through a very difficult work experience to realize this goal...this need in the community. It became challenging to keep this goal when my superiors stopped me. However, there is a need. Thank you for putting this into perspective. Here is an opportunity.
I started watching your videos 2 years ago, implanted meditation in my daily life and have started my 4th journal with shadow journaling a couple of days ago. My inner life has taken a radical turn for the best. Your advices keep me on the right track and I feel so much more in harmony with myself than ever before. When it comes to strategies, I ve been a long distance runner all my life and keeping focus on the goal, with breaks to recuperate after an effort (in this case social and intellectual), is usually what keeps me going. Meditation definitely helps for this. Thank you so much for all your work and take care. Helene
Again, I am blessed by your guidance & know how. You have offered so many ops to stop our suffering & I am most greatful! Your life work keeps me on track w my life work. I often watch how new monks are taugh the simplest things in life such as meditation, how to sleep or even how to eat. Meditation Gratitudes prayers Having intentions for all Having a routine for mental, spiritual @ physical self. Always thankful for you & all who teach us peace. 💕🙏
Great video, thank you! I appreciate these reminders, especially the small action steps. I tend to get bogged down looking at the whole picture and get overwhelmed.
I would love to come see you do a session of some sort in the IL or WI area someday. Thank you as always for your guidance and sharing your knowledge! You are much appreciated!
Thx, i needed this and it came at the right time..im going through some personal development knots and your words helped me see the situation in a different light , i appreciate everything you do!
My mind is going through the same conversation since we are in the process of staring at a new venture. So much clarity after hearing your blabbering😂 . Thank you
Ven Nick, I would ask you what to do you when you find yourself surrounded by chaos. I lived wild for a time, actually preferred it, but now, living in society, in a city, it's been hard. Screaming sirens. Trucks. I bought this mobile home with all I had saved. My neighbors, unlike all I'd heard, are a great bunch of people. The bright lights at night (I have blackout curtains), the endless noise from the street. But it's the waking up to that noise, not the sound of birds or other wildlife, that is throwing me. Now that I rent the land, pay utilities (though I'm very happy for indoor plumbing and refrigeration. Heat during the winter is nice, too), and have to buy my food, I don't know how I can save to move. One of my roommates, Arthritis, doesn't allow me to live wild by myself anymore. When you leave the monastery and have to deal with civilization, how do you do it?
Dear Nick in September i will go teaching at school for first time, i'm excited and scared for this at the same time. How can i keep my mind calm and clear in front of a class, please i need an advice!!!!
Is meditating all day long a bad thing? I have severe insomnia and wondered if meditation specifically all day will help with sleep and help reduce the effects from my severe sleep deprivation. As medications don’t work and doctors don’t have a clue what to do I’m desperate for something that’s helps a bit. Wondering if meditation could help.
Oh wonderful! Yes please feel free to visit. They have meditation classes weekly. You can check out their Facebook page under Georgia Meditation Center.
