UPDATE:1 year and still cranks within the first 2-3 pulls. Probably will buy another when this one finally does bite the dust ru-vid.comUgkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX . No issues at all. Very happy with it.UPDATE: After 6 months of use and over 70 uses I would still highly recommend this pressure washer. It does vibrate a decent amount but never had it “walk” like others have mentioned. No oil leaks, still seems to run like the day I bought it. Still cranks within 2-3 pulls every time. Very happy with my purchase!Have used it about a dozen times now. Plenty of power, cranks up on 1-2 pulls every time. My only complaint would be I wish it was a little taller to make it easier to walk with it (hits my ankles a lot) and that the two hose connections were a little further apart but it hasn’t caused me any issues. Seems to run a good 1-1/2-2 hrs on a full tank, overall a well built machine and definitely worth the money in my opinion.

Respirator with acid cartridge is what you need, a dust mask is for dust.

would acid remove any tint that I had been applied on my brickwork? the tint was to blend two different colours of brick that my house was build with.

You can neutralise the HYDROCHLORIC acid with bi carbonate soda too I think. Many brick manufacturers have advice on preferred methods for their bricks.

So if you do. Is it still acidic
@bitTorrenter
@bitTorrenter 3 года назад
@@jeromeduffy9270 No, bicarb is used regularly to neutralise acidic solutions and spills.

So if you neutralize acid ? Is it still affective?
@juanitajordan-joyner46
@juanitajordan-joyner46 8 лет назад
Pressure washers actually drive the dirt further into the brick and is not advised. A regular hose is what is necessary.

Can this method get rid of old ivy plants that have left marks on the brick?
@johncrowe5164
@johncrowe5164 5 лет назад
I've Found that those Little Sucker Finger print Things Left By the Ivy Are Easy to Remove with an Old Worn Brick Trowel. I Use a Sweeping Motion Side to Side . I Live in a Civil War Era Brick House & Do Masonry for a Living. I Have Ivy Growing All Over My House & Like it. The Root System Sucks Up a Lot of Water & the Leaves Get Rid of it. Without the Ivy I'd Probably Have Moisture Problems in Basement. About 20 Years Ago I Removed All the Ivy & Cleaned the Brickwork with Heavy Duty Restoration Cleaner. My Variety of Ivy Didn't Do Any Damage to Mortar or Bricks Except for Leaving those Little "Sucker" Things Behind When you Remove Ivy. Which I Do Every Few Years.

I Remove them Periodically. Repoint as Necessary.

Ho.....If you leave it for 2 months after laying the bricks.....Can you still get the same result....Or would the mortar hardened and it would now stain ? Is it same work or more expensive to clean ? Thanks
@KM-gh3ob
@KM-gh3ob 4 года назад
Two Months is a significantly long time, I do hope you have a decent budget for this job. The first question the contractor will ask you, that's if you're employing a contractor ..Is how long since the building has been finished??

Brick and Patio Cleaner is usually 9 - 10%. Mortar Stain Remover is usually 18 - 20%. Hydrochloric Acid (HCl)

I Hate Seeing Masonry Pressure Washed. There's an Industrial Park Nearby Lined with Brick Buildings. It's Easy to See Someone Went Down the Street Pressure Washing. Some Are Completely Covered with Efforessence From the Pressure Washing. Some Buildings There Are Older than Others. They Never Had the Efforessence Before Whoever Washed them Did it. Pumping Water Into Masonry Is Never a Good Thing Unless it's a C'ment Pond.

My brick house is over 70 years old and what scares the crap outta me is damaging or desintegrating the mortar if I use a pressure washer. Now that you mention the efforessence, I'm definitely not going to try it. I don't have it and don't want to open Pandora's Box, LOL.

Im using an acid called phos acid is that good enough or should i get the hydro acid?Also how much PSI should i use on the bricks? I have 4000 but scared i will blow the brick or mortar
@OurBuild
@OurBuild 8 лет назад
+Orthodox , Hi Mate, I have not heard of that type of acid before. My only suggestion would be to try a small sample out of the wall somewhere first and see how it goes. You should be fine with 4000 PSI, mine was 3000 and probably could have done with a bit more presure, so you should be OK. Good luck with it, let me know how you get on.

Hydrochloric Acid (-6.3 pKa) is much more stronger than Phosphoric Acid (2.16 pKa). Less is needed.

That mask wont protect you from the fumes. Please get yourself an appropriate mask if you do not want to die early due to failed lungs (due to diseases like asthma, COPD, lung cancer etc)

A 3m Full Face Shield Respiratior was the Best $100 Bucks I Ever Spent!
@wotviewer
@wotviewer Год назад
As a "how to" video this sucks I accept a mask is better than nothing, but the clue is in the name... DUST mask! You need an inorganic gas (fumes) filter in a respirator mask. When using the high pressure jet do not stand square on to the brickwork as that is simply standing in the spray pattern, so the acid is landing on you. If you must stand square on then use a full face visor and keep your hood on. Better to use the jet pointed obliquely away from you.

Builders don't like pressure washers because they are like a 100 years erosion in one hit. Brick cleaners were doing damage by being heavy handed with pressure and using too much acid. Some builders wont allow pressure washers. Used carefully they can be ok but stay away from the cement joints.
