Lease hold meaning the foreigner pays the price that the land is worth then developes the land the after some years the land owner takes the land and the foreigner looses everything. Just like going to the bank and taking a mortgage on a house, you loose the bank wins
No ! That’s not how we should look at it ! A leasehold means that you are renting the land for a specified number of years and you will remit a monthly or annual income to the owner of the land but when the lease is over, you can either always renew the lease or buy off the land from the owner

Are the lease periods static between 49 years & 99 years, no more no less? 3. Looking at leasing, are the lease payments paid upfront in total for the entire period and generally equal to if the land was to be sold to a citizen?

What happens when a foreigner sells the leasehold land back to an ugandan national? Lets say with 10 or 30 years lease remaining? Someone different to the original seller.
Hello Edward ! You cannot sell leased land ! You can only sub lease to another person who will now become a a subletee who can then pay re t to the person who is the original lease holder
