Hey guys, I've noticed that some of you see "DNS record not found" when checking the record in mxtoolbox. If you're one of them, check back 3:05 and make sure that you _removed the domain name from the "Host" section of the record_ . The DNS manager appends the domain to that value automatically, so if you don't remove it, the resulting record will have a duplicated domain, meaning that the record is created incorrectly.
I got it to work thank u!!! this was amazing. my issue was the private key is the middle section you referred to. thankfully i screenshot nd sent it to myself a couple days ago. I thought the key inside the zip file was what i was looking for. However, thank you!
I went throught various official namecheap tutorials and videos on youtube and none of them worked, only your tutorial worked, thank you so much. (Too bad the people at namecheap don't know how to explain their own services)
I diont understand how name cheap have made this so complicated. Thank you for your perfect explination. Really appreciate your help. This has saved me hours!!
I've been looking for 3 days for how to activate this SSL thing and you explained it in 4 minutes -_- thanks dude you're awesome, keep up the good work
Thank you SO MUCH. I've been racking my brain trying to activate the SSL on my new website for several days, reading tutorial after tutorial on Namecheap's help guide, and asking customer support to help. It's been incredibly frustrating and time consuming. Then I found this video and you walked me through exactly how to do it in 5 minutes. I'm astonished that not even Namecheap support were able to explain it this clearly over several attempts. I don't understand why it has to be this complicated. Clearly I'm not the only one who has struggled with this!
@@KDuppyClothin If I understood you right, you are referring to the administrative contact email -- you enter it during SSL activation (can be seen at 2:05)
You don't get that cert as a separate product, so you can't see it in the account. Just need to enable it in the EasyWP dashboard: www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/10210/2287/easywp-free-ssl-for-your-wordpress-site/
Put in a ticket. Error on checking CNAME and I followed everything. I think you should make it clear when copying CNAME without website if that period (.) is staying or apart of it. I did both ways but still no success. Thanks for good video overall.
Thanks for the feedback! The period does not matter, the most important part is stripping down the domain name from the "Host" section. If there was some error, it is most likely caused by some another reason only the support team can tell.
After the SSL is issued, you can forward its files to your hosting provider for further installation. If you are using Namecheap's managed wordpress hosting, you can check this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gWfwu4BunhA.html
I have my domain from Godaddy and hosting from namecheap and i can't DNS records in GoDaddy as it shows me to change my nameservers to godaddy but i can't do it as i have my hosting in namecheap nameservers , please help
I don´t have the option "Add new record", therefore I had to contact my domain to help me continue with the activation of the SSL Certificate. In the end it was more complicated....
Nice video. I was following through but when i clicked on advanced option at 05:57 minutes , there was no option to add New Records. How can that be tackled?
You can manage the DNS records there only if you are you using BasicDNS, PremiumDNS, and FreeDNS nameservers. If you don't see the management options there, then you are using hosting or other custom nameservers.
Hey, thanks for the awesome tutorial. But whenever I paste the host. The page just freezes, unresponsive. I've tried in different browsers but It's still the same out come.
"Download File" only appears if you've selected the HTTP (file upload) method for domain control validation. You can switch to the CNAME-based DCV method if you click "Edit Methods" directly.
The CSR you submitted initially will generate an SSL certificate that has no matching private key -- that SSL is virtually unusable in this case. But this can be fixed by simply reissuing the SSL as shown in www.namecheap.com/support/knowledgebase/article.aspx/811/14/how-do-i-reissue-my-ssl-certificate/ . This procedure is free of charge. You will be able to submit a new CSR there. Note that in order to initiate a new reissue, you have to complete the validation process for your initial SSL.
Hi thank you for the video it was so much easy to follow however, mine still says pending. Im not sure how long to wait exactly or if I did something wrong. I did everything and it even says that the DNS record was published and found.
@@ErriesEmporium Hi, I ended up asking their support team to help out with my issues. I don’t exactly understand what happened but in the end I got it. It took a long process of waiting. They told me my problem was not having a registered business. But I don’t understand how they could have slowed things down. But anyways, so ask for help and make yourself a high priority because they WILL solve it for you.
@2:54 i dont have an option to add a new record!!! under the "Hot records" row, it just says: "You can transfer DNS back to Namecheap BasicDNS to take advantage of our free Domain Redirect and Host Management services and other features. Change DNS Type"
The purpose of that record is simply demonstrating that you really have control over the domain. As soon as the SSL is validated and issued, the record can be removed.
@@umerfarooq2425 you can have as many SSLs as you wish. You bind them to different domains/subdomains and the configuration process is universal for each of them.
@@EasySSL Thanks for replying. its still in pending process after many days . don't know what to do . tried to find solution but no help so far . if you could guide me on this please. Many thanks
@@umerfarooq2425 I would recommend that you contact Namecheap support directly. They will be able to see the full picture of your setup and advise on the solution.
Have you clicked "Retry Alt DCV" as shown on 3:56? If it does not help, there might be some issue with your domain setup, I'd recommend that you reach out to Namecheap support so that they can take a close look
