You didn't show how to apply different notification sounds for different apps. For some reason it doesn't allow it? Just one general sound for every notification now?
After a day of banging my head against a wall, and far too many websites, I've got my A15 (Andriod 14) to have seperate sounds. (these instructions are based on how it appears in my Galaxy A15, with Andriod 14 installed) Go into Settings -> Notifications -> Advanced Settings -> Turn on "Manage notication categories for each app". You'll need to go through each app's notification settings to change the ringtone, I've included below how to do this for Google Messages. Go into Messages Settings -> Notifications -> Notification categories -> Long press "Incoming messages" (sorry, no idea how long a press is needed, I go with about 5 seconds) -> Sound -> You can now select the ringtone you wish. If the track is not in the list, make sure that it's within the notifiction folder on your phone.
Custom ringtone worked but how u explained the notification thing didn't. I didn't see a option for notification while following ur direction. Ur 3 dots after the long hold popped up ,mine didnt

I tried doing this through the apps but I see no option to. I had a note8 before and did it on there and now all my apps like snapchat sound the same it kills me
Can you tell us how to assign ring tones to certain apps, for example, the message app that comes on the phone. It seems I have to go through each conversation and assign a ring tone. I'd like to just assign a ring tone to all notifications for this app and can't seem to do so.
How do you get a customised ringtone to start at the beginning and not in the middle of the song. Been looking for a while, and no video addresses this question. Thank you
making one of my fav songs my ringtone was the first thing i did, but i noticed it didnt let me start it where i wanted it to start, how do i change that?
Is there any way to separate the Notification sound from the SMS/MMS notification sound? Can that also be done for e-mail? Compared to OxygenOS, which was on my OnePlus 8T. OneUI is incredibly primative.
I totally agree. Samsung, with overwhelming abundance of customization, didn't pay attention to address this in settings, separate for messages and email notifications?!... All my previous Android phones easily allowed me to customize the sound. S23 ultra only allows to set the sound for each contact individually, and that is driving me nuts! Jeff, thanks so much for your tutorials. I never expected that I will have to watch ton of videos to setup my phone. This actually was my biggest holdout to getting a Samsung device.

I've noticed that somehow, on my note 20 ultra with one ui 5.1, the track i chose for my ringtone, which is a bought one in wav format, doesn't allow for selected highlights...which is very weird and the first time i've encountered that... 🤷♂
The problem I’m having is setting a sound for text notifications. Awhile back I changed what I thought was my texts but it was for EVERYTHING. All apps had the same notification sound! 😮 I’ve fixed some by uninstalling and reinstalling but some won’t change. It was on my previous phone and now on this phone after I transferred. Can someone please help?

can u test voice changer in goodlock? i turned it on on my S10+ and it shows as a notification during voice recording, i choose a sound to be recorded in but it doesn't work at all. when i play the sound there's no effect on it😞
