For me, it's one or two sprays, three is the maximum. Often on my clothes, sometimes on my wrists. I'm sure it's both a cultural difference as well as a personal preference, but I personally prefer fragrance to be something that can be caught a whiff of when I walk by someone, or something you can only smell faintly when you get close to someone. I would never want to force anyone to smell me and my fragrance just because they're in the same room with me or have to smell it the entire time they're walking behind me. Especially knowing people who are sensitive to fragrances to the point where they cannot breathe if someone is wearing a lot of perfume. I never want to be the cause of someone's discomfort. I also never spray on the skin on my decolletage. The skin there is so delicate, and the components of a perfume especially mixed with sun can cause some serious damage on the skin.

Please remember that fragrances are mostly alcohol, which is an astringent. This removes oil from your skin and makes it prone to becoming more wrinkly and dry, so think about this before spraying on your cleavage for many years. Applying fragrance, waiting a bit for it to dry and then applying a body cream without rubbing too much is a good way to get the best moisturising properties out of your cream. Applying a cream and then immediately spraying a fragrance is a good way to negate a lot of your cream's benefits. If you choose to go cream first it is better to apply a cream at least an hour before so it has time to soak into the skin. Just a few tips, hope this comment helps you ladies and guys out!

8 to 10 sprays?? Girl, you are going to knock out everyone around you. I put on 1 or 2 sprays, and I get compliments on my perfume, so I know that people can still smell it.

Good to know, however, as a stylist I work closely with clients and prefer for my fragrance to whisper instead of shout. I just never want to offend someone or give someone a headache. I always go lighter even if I personally think the fragrance is amazing, they might not agree. I guess it also depends on ones situation, mood or motive.

Now i know why girls kill me in the elevator

Please do a LONG video! Like 45 mins of your entire collection or if not the entire collection maybe just the ones you love but never get mentioned. But I'm curious to see how many bottles you have in total. ;)

Roja Dove recommends avoiding the neck area as the alcohol dries the skin. A wrinkly neckline is something most people want to avoid. He does suggest the wrists as fragrances are meant to shared and most people are quite animated with their hands. So sorry I missed you in NY. Keep up the great content Demi.

It's super important for people to pay attention about how well fragrance tends to project on your skin. As a guy, every cologne projects MASSIVELY on my skin, and I have no idea why. Like 4 sprays of weak cologne like Aspen and you can smell me from 3 feet away. Only 2 sprays of Eros and it's literally a 6 foot reach. Pay attention to it, as to avoid over spraying if you're like me.

Clothes and hair are the best carriers. Perfume on skin gets heated and changes its characteristics away from its original profile. The alcohol also adversely affects the skin, particularly if the pores open from sweating. I do love your videos Demi...thanks for so much great information 🙏🙏

I do not like to impose my fragrance on others. I prefer they smell me at arm's length or when they lean in to hug me. And I very sincerely hate it when friends hug me and leave their smell on me, no matter whether or not I like their fragrance! To each his/her own...but there a lot of people I avoid for the only reason that they wear "too much" perfume. I have even decided against hiring a very good candidate for a job because her scent was overpowering. I would've hated sharing an office space, a car service, or an elevator with her, so her perfume was the crucial factor that bumped her out of the final round of candidates. To all of you who spray a lot--keep in mind that not everyone will be equally enamored with your fragrance as you are! PS--I discovered PdeM's "Safanad", MFK's "Grand Soir", FduB's "Santal Complet", Dior's "Gris Montaigne", and VC&A's "Orchidee Vanille" thanks to you, Demi, and I adore them. Keep up the good work.

Someone told me, you need to spray the perfumes on your skin the part you have a lot of nerves. For example, behind your ears, neck, wrist, the middle part of your arm. So that it absorbs into your skin and last longer. Spraying perfumes on hair with alcohol contain can damage the hair too.

To avoid nose fatigue (where you yourself cant smell your fragrance), only spray it in places that aren’t close to your nose. So avoid your neck etc.

Depending on how strong the scent is, I'll apply more or less in different places. If i spray Angel on just my wrists it does not last, I have to spray it on my chest/neck as well. Sometimes I like to spray perfume on my shoulders, even knees. I will now consider the elbows lol

A good way to distribute your fragrance all over like Demi does without spraying as much is to spray on each wrist and stamp the wrist on other locations, like the back of the ears, inner elbows or neck. I hear rubbing breaks up the molecules, but a light press works for me 😊

Sound advice gorgeous. The hair is always key, soaks it up like a sponge. I always finish my application with a shot to the back and top. Two to the back of the neck, before I even get dressed. Never cared to get frags on my cloths, sticks around forever (days). XOXO

Nice tips Demi ! With my lighter frags, I will wait a few minutes then go back and re-apply over previously sprayed areas. Also, lighter frags do a little better when you add a spritz to the under arm area. ( After applying an UNSCENTED deo of course ) . . . Great trick for warmer days ! Spritzing clothes is tricky, as some frags stain and don't easily wash out ! Thanks for sharing . . . :)

i can never spray on my skin (got sensitive skin). always give me rashes or weird things popping up on my skin!

When just out the shower I combine my lotion and perfume at the same time that way the lotion and perfume absorbs depends on the oils in the fragrance and lotions some die down and some stays strong all day

You are so right about spraying the hair, i thin the sexiest thing with fragrance in a woman is when they move their hair and it smells delicious. I don´t know how some girls do it but they really know how to spray their hair.

I like to do two sprays on the sides of my arms, that way when you walk past people or sit next to people it’s easy to smell

layer your perfume with Escentric Molecules 01 if you want it to last longer. It doesn’t smell of anything but contains a chemical that makes perfume breakdown at a slower rate

What is the best spray distance for projection? When spraying fragrances on skin, especially the wrist, I usually spray 6 inches and the fragrance usually leaves an oily film on the skin (Most of my fragrances are EDP or Parfum concentrations). After the top notes dissipate, the fragrance feels muted and doesn’t project as well. Does Having oily skin help with longevity, but hamper projection? How can I apply EDP and Parfum fragrances with improved projection?

Funny I find fragrances last longer on the back of my hand and the along the top of my arms, I can never smell them in my pulse points after a while! I love to spray my hair it definitely does lasts longer in you hair and I also find fragrances last longer on my clothes than on my skin

I don't know if temperature plays a role but I have never been able to spray over one spray with a perfume. the smell projects up to 10 ft. with Aventus.

I have question to everyone laying molecule o1 with other fragrances. Does it boost the performance? Does it smell any different? I consider to buy it, but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

When applying fragrances at a distance of 4-6 inches (every atomizer seems to be different) should you move the atomizer across the skin in a sweeping motion or keep the atomizer stationary, when spraying on your desired pulse point/location? I noticed that when I went to a perfume store recently the associate who applied the Fragrance, sprayed on my skin in a sweeping motion?!

How do you preserve perfume? I heard they go off after 6 months.
