There’s no “right” formula. Plus not everyone’s doing this for the masses. It is simple tho. Wayyy before social media came into picture, people just played shows. More shows you play locally and if people like the shit you’re doing then they’ll tell people. With social media being prevalent and saturated with people trying to “make it” it almost becomes the norm but it wasn’t always like that. All in all I’m still a firm believer that word of mouth is still the best and most authentic way to go about it.
@@Twizzrd I jus started again a day ago and got 6 in 12 hours but sure come back in a year I'm actually doing it for real now and yeah it is simple 💀 but I watched half of the guys video and he right am doing mainly that and some more ways 👌 Also putting real useful shit in it not really tryna be a big artist Edit: and I'm helping my mate blow up and he been getting way more views and subs since I helped 👍
@@Twizzrd actually nah even if you on some hater shit you put in time in your channel so imma give you a tip just shout me out when you big Visuals is what most people focus on 70% visuals 20% audio 10% content (it'll be different in other cases but cbf) aka why you watching this video than a million audios of the same So work on creating dope visuals for your videos than the static pictures you currently have else you will feed people that currently fw you but you won't expand And work on bringing new stuff to the genre or sound More but good luck 🙏
i feel dumb you make it sound so simple and i’ve done this correctly one time but didn’t realize why it works. so i’m an improv guitarist and song writer, i practice a lot on a vacuum and so i developed a strange improv style that’s very classical like due to a varied sense of tempo. people actually really like it cause it’s novel, but other musicians hate it cause it’s usually way “out of time.” to them so i tried to make things people like by making neo soul guitar videos, to a metronome. but that didn’t work cause there’s already 12 dudes doing it better than me. so my easiest path forward would be to focus on the improv guitar style i developed & my voice rather than tryna make shit that’s conventional. thanks!
Perfect plan brodie, work on your own sound and make your own music fuck catering to other people. fuck everybody saying your music is "out of time" music is timeless keep doing you fam when you cater to yourself and do what you love you'll see it'll take you incredibly far
you fail in understanding that social media is only 15% of music. if you are actually outside and meet people in real life you have a much better chance
@@IM2JADEDREACTS I’m the best recording engineer in Cincinnati I’ve recorded every artist you can think of that has been thru the city, I work at deadrich studios (you can google it) and also have a clothing brand called deadrich streetwear. I made 97k last year off music alone.
😅 success isnt based on being well known. Plenty of modest musicians making a good living playing at local shows and supporting their local scene. @@IM2JADEDREACTS
@@ayyitsjoe music is not a business the music industry is a business. music is a personal self expression, music is art. Focus on making art and meeting people that do the same. The rest will come later when you meet a nerd to help you promote it. Make music to make money and you will never make music that people like.
I got u homes, we'll get that instagram follower count up brah! Also, very insightful video, practical and completely unladen of that simmering soup that most like to dish out, wafting it all over the place like some kind of chef... You're the real chef G, keep it up!
The first thing I thought of was the “guess the drummer, guess the singer” stuff bands have been doing. My band can’t do that though because we all play everything 😭 Thanks for the video!
@@lyf6761 fosho entertainment is a thing, thats why ppl look more towards artists rather than the actual ppl who produced the music. Producers get way less credit altho me personally I think they are the main guys who do zhe heavy lifting, they literally compose and create the music, but if ur a boring ahh bozo nobody care. Presentation is key, but also good music.
Hard and simple. Know the distinction between mediocre and good music, produce good music, and find a unique niche. Easier said than done but it's all it really is.
I always think about this… like you can do the mediocre way for instant gain and notice, or authentic and real for the longevity of actually creating unique pieces of art
Had a question. So I have a song it just hit 100k on Spotify called fall back. I do pov vids everyday. My homies are sick of me always posting pov vids and think I should switch up my content even though the pov vids bring in streams and new listeners. Should I listen to them or continue with the pov vids
Do what works. Just coz your friends are sick of it, doesn’t mean you should stop doing it. If it stopped working and your homies were telling you to stop then that’s different. Double down by doing some other content as well as the POV videos. See if something works better. But I wouldn’t quit if you’ve found something that’s bringing in 100k streams
I just let the people at my job That I make music, show them A couple of songs they fuck With they tell other people I make music and they help Me link up with other musicians And so on.
10:17 bro, you are telling us to copy people who are succesful, thats terrible advice and shows you don't know what you're doing. I should be asking the people you copied for advice!
I make beats…and I feel like they are hard, but I guess they are ass because I’m getting like 10 views a beat…idk I’m about to quit pretty soon here tho.
@@adityagadve3131 I try bro but I’m not seeing anything fr. Like I honestly don’t know if my beats are ass. I’m not understanding why I’m getting like 5 views 😂
11:28 loser mindset, you learn on your mistakes and thats how u achieve uniqueness you controversial af. if the content sucks or is just another trending tik tok video I wont wanna link it to my art.
No disrespect to anyone but why would people wanna listen to an artist that sounds almost identical to another artist? It’s not that fan bases are extremely hard to build it’s just the market is over saturated with the same type of music . Which what makes it seem like it’s extremely hard to gain a fan base . You gotta mainly stand out in your music . But with how people go about with the execution these days it’s going to sound the same . Point 2 is people love to hate anything that’s not famous . Don’t post on tiktok . That’s the worst place to promote . All people will do is spam the same type of comments “unrelease this 🔥🔥💯” and can’t forget the new “ insert type then AHH comment . Honestly if you love music post it and if you get fans you do and if not that’s fine as well . If you truly doing something you love and you really love it doesn’t matter about the views . Now if you tryna make money then yeah care about the views .
Tiktok has blown my music up. They'll comment "unrelease this" and crap if the music is bad, yeah but not if it's actually good lol.. I very very rarely get a negative comment on tiktok and that's all i do is promote new music there. I drop new music every week. Your mindset is way off. Tiktok is literally the best place build a fanbase and grow your brand right now
I just re read your comment and everything about it including the end where you say, if you really love music the views don't matter, tells me that your music is objectively bad. This video isn't even for you man. You shouldn't have even watched it
@@Dub321 see for yourself if you feel that way . A TRUE artist doesn’t do it just for the profit but because it brings them some type of joy in their life . Money would be great but it’s not always about money it’s about creating something that is powerful because music it’s self is powerful .
@@Dub321 no because I’ve seen genuinely good music artist get the “unrelease this “ troll all the time . And telling me I shouldn’t watch something because you feel you’re right and I’m wrong shows me the exact mindset you have . Money doesn’t mean everything . Views doesn’t mean everything again to a real genuine artist . Why you think underground musicians sounded better when they weren’t signed ?
Cool video but dont worry about a girlfriend that wont solve any of your problems. Look inward and become enlightened, thats the true way to be a babe magnet.
