I would like to add that there are apps that are usually preinstalled, or part of a driver install that will lower down the volume or remove background noise. I have IntelliGo Neptune installed on my Alienware x15 R2. That app is the sole reason that it happens in the first place and I immediately turned off any form of noise reduction for my built-in microphone and my Blue Yeti microphone.

Pinned comment here. Thanks for the info. Also going to edit information. This is also true for using Facebook Messanger, StreamYard, Discord on browser, and pretty much other video call apps. This isn’t too bad for the app adjusts your audio fine for everybody anyway.

@@rudyskrew who knows why… idk why. But remember, if your using browser calls that may adjust your audio volume. For example… StreamYard or Discord on Google Chrome. If you have the Discord App, it should be fine tho. 👍

Dude, I've been trying to figure this out for years from Windows 10 then upgraded to Windows 11 hoping that it will automatically fix this but still the same. It's been driving me crazy and very annoying that it automatically adjusts the volume without me noticing. It's been Day 4 and pretty much tried with all the programs that I use, your method works and a life saver.. you're a good lad..

After further observation, I figured out that some websites that you allowed to use Microphone will be able to take control of volume. I guess unchecking 'Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device' is only applicable with programs locally.

I was looking for a fix to prevent my line-in and mic inputs from pumping UP the gain slider and overmodulating my audio stream...manually adjusting it to be 100% ovrmodulated at all times is not what I would consider a fix to auto up adjusting Windows gain :-\

Ok… so I’m not super techy and the laptop I’m working with is my work computer. Definitely having this issue with my Bluetooth headset. If I uninstall this mic, is it pretty easy to install it again if needed? I’m probably over thinking things, but it being my work laptop, I’m not trying to mess with too many things lol. If anyone has advice, I’d appreciate. Also thanks for the video!
@JHebertSide95
@JHebertSide95 8 месяцев назад
I’m not sure because I use wired mic and then a headset itself without the mic. I would just try and see what happens, and if you can’t trouble shoot with similar steps that I showed here. Open any program I opened in this to trouble shoot the issue.

Right. Now keep in mind certain apps like Chrome and Edge (which allow you to use video and audio automatically) adjust your audio regardless, but that works if your doing a production on places like StreamYard. If your doing recordings on discord, go on via DISCORD *APP* and just do it from there, then your fine.

@@Jarda_B My solution is reset every drive on Device Manager and then do this step by step again. Usually takes care of the problem. If that still doesn’t work, I would recommend a different mic. Sometimes depending on microphone, it auto sets on your PC no matter what you do because it’s a built in software or it’s a faulty issue with the hardware.

@JHebertSide95
@JHebertSide95 11 месяцев назад
So here’s the thing. Are you using stuff like Facebook call or StreamYard? Because I’m browser apps will do that…. however, that’s fine for your mic because StreamYard and Facebook audio typically works fine as it adjusts. If your using Discord (and discord the application, not the browser), Skype, or Zoom, it shouldn’t do that.. That said, you need to make sure if your using your computer for in browser calls, I.E. Chrome, Edge, FireFox, he’ll even Opera GX, you need to make sure to turn your volume on your mic all the way up after your done. There’s no avoiding it as far as I can tell yet. That you’ll have to do, but it’s as simple as downloading Audacity and being able to do that manually. I really do hope this helps you.

shiit whenever im on a call or recording something it still does this its so fucking annoying idk i triied this and it didnt work idk if theres something im missing
@JHebertSide95
@JHebertSide95 Год назад
No that’s always going to happen, but on calls that’s not as much of an issue... If your trying to live stream... You need to download Zoom, Discord, or (if you have a bit of money) Riverside and use those apps to record and stream podcasts... You NEVER want to livestream from your end using Facebook call or anything browser related. The only exception to that rule is StreamYard because they use a server to stream, and your not streaming from your desktop pretty much. You do need to make sure to turn your audio back up full on afterwards... But yeah if your making calls and not streaming, that’s not a big deal. Wouldn’t worry too much about the microphone auto adjusting.

@JHebertSide95
@JHebertSide95 Год назад
Well depends on what your using for video calls. Any web browser thing typically makes it auto adjust. But if you use Discord by itself it doesn’t happen. If you use Skype by itself it doesn’t happen. Also, if you record your volume for stream mainly it doesn’t auto adjust. I have not found a way to get it fixed on the new Windows 11 Update, but it is an issue... I was just somehow lucky not to have it happen to me somehow.
