i feel this was great man and how your expertise from your jazz school days, but missed the mark in expalining mixed rythms like the dotted 16ths and 8ths combos, because you didn't really explain to them, the common mixed rythms at least after the subdivisions, I think you should have at least done a couple of the most common. Thanks for th website
I been playing for 3 months and this has been the best explanation to play with a metronome, whole time i thought i had to strum on every click and was wondering why it sounded like shit
I've been following you for a long time. Really content to see you making videos like these, even if I miss the chaos of the old ones. Glad you made it bro.
James Bond, tied to an explosive chair set to go off with bad rhythm on rhythmrandomizer: Bond: “Do you expect me to use takadimi?” Music Prof: “No, Mr. Bond… I expect you to die.”
FWIW (=0.001), I like doing cross rhythms with the metronome, like 4 to 3. Hitting on the upbeat, noting between the beats, helps me improve precision.
are you monitoring the guitar with those headphones or just wearing them for metronome? if you are monitoring, how are you getting ultra low latency wireless for playing guitar?
Yes, incredibly useful as it is incredibly tedious to practice that shit... But I do understand how this practice will help , thanks for showing us this side of things and not just jaw dropping skill. Cheers
Don’t play guitar to get girls. My girl got me back into guitar. I picked up an acoustic guitar in 2015 at 15yrs old and I messed around with it a bit but was bored and I was intimidated by the electric guitar so I never switched in my teens, instead I ran into some trouble, in life, got a house arrest charge, met my girl in college and she got me to buy an electric guitar 16 months or so ago I’m playing gigs live now with my bestfriend since childhood (drummer) and he’s a better drummer than I am a guitarist but people like our music and I’m obsessive about my playing I play guitar 6+ hrs a day I have to get all that time I lost. And my drummer always tells me rehearse ideas with a metronome before we record on pro tools.
The thing I don't understand is why you have to play 16 notes when you play a 16th note. It doesn't make any sense and you didn't explain that fact of music. It's a dumb rule.
