As an 800, I usually play King's Gambit on white, and Modern Defense of a left fianchetto with an "expanded" fianchetto on the right. I used to start symmetrically with both fianchettos, but could only win on time because it's a tough position for the opponent to break after castling. But they do break it. Always. Adding the assertive flank allows for attack opportunities later.

I like this concept and would love for it to be a series. It feels like a more theoretical guide, which I think would help people prepare and get a feel for different kinds of opponents.

I actually like this more than “win at chess” cause it’s a bit quicker of a video, and the large jumps in elo allows me to see the principle ideas as they evolve while keeping my attention.

I really hope this becomes a series. Fantastic teaching going on by Levy. Maybe 5 minute games or I think a lot will end up just losing on time, esp at the lower ratings. But this and the the win at chess series are my favorite thing on chess YT

I think if you do this again, you should do rapid games. 500s in blitz are better than 500s in rapid

Chess is so scary in high elo. Imagine playing perfectly then making 1 strategic mistake 10 moves ago backfires on you even if you played 99% accurate.

Did you know elo stands for Electric Light Orchestra they were a band in the formed in the 1970s. The chess world decided to pay respects by using the name to show skill / performance

I really like you videos about the difference between the rating. It shows me what i need to work on at my level. I don't think you need to show yourself playing the whole game. Just play a few games against the rating you want to show and then show the review on the video. When you play the game you don't comment on your moves that well because of the time, and also if you play a few games you can actually choose which game you want to show and make sure it's a good game and not a game like the 500 that plays like 1800 XD

I love these kinds of videos I was stuck at 450 ELO for weeks then I watched a couple Gotham chess videos and instantly got up to 630 within a week I will always be a supporter of Gotham Chess

You should do a video where you play people of different elos, and attempt to get the game analysis to guess you were their elo. Play a 500, get it to suggest you're a 500 regardless of what they do, etc

and in 2700 ELO, you play against any level ELO, still be able to commentate and analyze your and your opponent's moves while still having good time management in blitz
