Hi, Randy! I just installed the shape-based calendar and it is working very well. You did a phenomenal job with the code accounting for a number of different situations, and also with the design details! Thank you so much for sharing this.
Thanks so much Celia, I do love the shape-based but they can be a bit tricky to work with sometimes. Of course you are an expert, so nothing is tricky for you. I have a new take on a cell-based calendar training coming up in a few days. Similar to the double calendar when you book flights. I hope you will like it.
@@ExcelForFreelancers I wil check that new video. I have been playing with the shape based calendar version from this video, making a few tweaks and it's working great!
Hi Nora, if you are on a browser version this would not work, also if you are on a Mac there are some limitations. I hope this helps. I tried downloading the "Free" workbook for three types of pop-up calendars. And nothing arrived in my email. ???? It seems I need to purchase 200 workbooks in order to get the "free" calendar workbook. ????
Hi Ron, certainly you do not need to make the purchase. Free is Free. If you have tried to download this workbook using the links but had a problem please email Shane@ExcelForFreelancers.com . Please supply the email you used along with the workbook you are requesting. Thanks for your patience.
HI randy, Thanks very much for the Calendars. Just a quick question ? Can we bring up/ call any of these calendars within a VBA form ? Thanks in advance . Martin
Hi and thanks for your comment. You would want to use a form-based date picker when adding calendars to existing userforms, and not the shape-based calendars, which are only for sheets. I hope this helps and thanks so much.
Hi Mike, you can download this file using the links in the description above with either your email or Facebook Messenger. I hope this helps and thanks.
Hi Kunalj thanks very much for your comment. I have actually already created that in a series of videos in my Employee Manager. You can find that right here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-w8gVLQ7ixfA.html Thank you for your Likes, Shares & Comments. It really helps.
Hi Vicky, you can use the Userform Date Picker form for existing userform (not the shape-based and not the sheet-based calendars) I hope this helps and thanks.
Hi, just found your channel and it has a really great content; You have done a very good job, congrats. I would like to know if there is a way to link any of these calendars to a pivot chart so I don't have to use slicers for the dates.
Hi Vladimir thanks for the comment. You could assign the Form or Shape based calendar to any cell or Active X or Form Control. If you use a Form Control you still may want to use a linked cell, even in it's header. Most pivot tables have limits to them as well. You can assign a macro to any cell within your pivot table to open on cell selection which can be helpful in this case. I hope this helps. I love your three different calendars and appreciate you preparing. It is possible to use one of these calendars on this file I created which is a 4 week based form, but my company changed accounting periods from a 4 week to a monthly based? The 5th week would change based on the calendar of the year and month and could I tie that 5th week to one of the 3 calendars you created? Thank you.
Hi Ken, thanks so much for your message. The calendars are all open and unlocked and you can make any changes you like. Hi Randy! Thank you so much for the video! I have a question: when I use the code it's giving me the Run-time error '1004' Method 'Range' of object '_Worksheet' failed when I add multiple cells to the code. I added from cell B3 to cell B67 and it works perfectly but when I try to add cell B68 or another one, it gives me the error mentioned above. Any ideas of how to resolve this?

Request help: How can I use the in-cell-calendar for a range of cells in my spreadsheet? Thank you. (ex: I need to input a series of dates in cells A20:M20.)
Hi yes you can Cecil, you can set the range to anything you like. Just use a hidden cell to save the range you have selected, and when a user selects a date in that calendar, add the date to whatever range the user has selected. For more details please post your entire requirements in our Excel For Freelancers Facebook Group here: bit.ly/groupexcel Thanks so much.
Randy, I'm missing some of the info you show in the Developer tab/Visual Basics area. How can I communicate with you to show you what I'm speaking about?

I wanted to create a calendar macro so I could put the date in whatever cell I select. My version of Excel, which is the latest, does not have the Microsoft Date Control. What can I do? Thanks!
Like the calendar a lot. Ran into an unexpected linking problem: (Using Excel 2013 on native Windows 10 Toshiba laptop.) After using the calendar awhile, I began getting a can't link error, although everything in my workbook worked. Tracked it down to a link between my workbook, and the downloaded workbooks used during install. The linking error happened because I moved those files, thinking they were not needed. But as it turned out, 3 Excel Calendars.xlsm is linked, and through it DatePicker.xlsm is linked. But...when I examine links in my workbook, or in the download workbook, the following is found: If I look at Inquire tab:Workbook Relationship, the diagram shows these links as existing. If I look at Data tab:Edit Links, no such links are shown in order to break them. (When I return the download workbooks to their original location, the error stops. Either way, everything works.) In my workbook, I have CalPopUp as Sheet3 (hidden) and Popup_Calendar Module, so I would think these are enough. Yes? This is important, as the finished workbook will reside on someone else's computer. --- Any suggestions? --- Thanks, Doug
Hi Doug, I do understand that issue. Sometimes when moving over the calendar the macros assigned don't always get written properly to the new calendar. The CalPopUp sheet contains a calendar as a backup, so this way if your calendar on your sheet gets deleted the backup is copied over (you could manually do this as well) (You just don't want two calendars on the same sheet) I hope this helps. Can u also make a video on how to create a marquee text in excel without using Microsoft webbrowser as webbrowser doesn't work in Excel 2013 & 2015. I have tried but it doesn't smoothly animate the text because it is reflected after every second and I am not getting how to reflect in milliseconds for smooth animation.

Dear Randy, your video so cool. I want to implemen special Timer 'cutdown' into my excel file. But I faced with issues that Timer connected to cell. When user open the file and based on his name Timer 'cutdowm' must set time up ( 10 min) and start to work. Here is I found the issue: when user making modification in cell Timer is not working.....After to avoid this I try to create my own timer and set up time by formula....this solution works but new issue poped up: this kind of timer works only in one sheet due to textbox.controlsouce coneted only to one sheet to one cell. If i chose other sheet my Timer started but not counting time. Could you help me please, with Timer counting creation which will work in all worksheets and not freazze or stoped and when user activate each o cell for write some data or text into cell? Thank you in advance. Best regard. Best

How to make the popup calendar close by pressing Esc button. Instead of using mouse to click on close button, is there any way to close the popup calendar close by pressing Esc button on keyboard. Thanks.
Its a good question. There are a few options. Please post the question in our group so we can get many different possible solutions. Http://bit.ly/groupexcel
Please be patient, as I have many requests and tasks as well as responsibilities and I have not been able to double check on the best solution for you just yet.
I had used the first one which is form calendar. But when i select a date and again visit the cell to change date, the form calendar is automatically switching to today's. Pls tell me how to stop the calendar from switching to today's month. Pls reply @Excel for freelancers
The Form Calendar (first One) will always have a small square around the current date however you are free to enter any date you want. The current date is not automatically entered into the cell date.
Excel For Freelancers I wants to know how to stop the calendar from switching to current month and year. When i enter a date in different month and year, the calendar should fix to that month and year if i again visit that cell.
Also if you go into the code for the calendar (double click the calendar) you see: ThisDay = VBA.DateTime.Date Change to: ThisDay = Sheet1.Range("A1").Value Make sure instead of A1, you use the cell that contains your date
Excel For Freelancers The above one has solved the issue. But i am getting am error whenever the linked cell is empty. If there is already a date in that cell then it is working fine, But if the cell is empty it is not working because the macro is not getting which month it should display. Pls tell how to fix that. If a date is entered the calendar must show according to that month and year but if the cell is empty the default should be set to today's date. Thanks in advance.
Hello this in regards with the popup Calendar that's available for download. After downloaded the files "DATE PICKER SHAPE Based" in that the 27th date or the last row 4th Column doesn't work properly for eg: if we select 27 it shows next date that's 28. Why is it?? Can you please help with the solution for it?? Thank you
Hi sorry to hear about that it is not working correctly. I would like to take a look at that specific instance so i can see the issue. Perhaps you can join our Excel Facebook Group here: bit.ly/groupexcel , and post your workbook so me and other Excel members can fix the issue for you. Thanks so much.
Hello thank you for the reply. if its not much of the trouble the group that you mention is linked with facebook login isn't it? But unfortunately i don't use facebook. So, if its not much to ask can you provide the solution on this platform itself please. This is the link you had provided to one Kellie with this link (bit.ly/3_Cal_WbDl) which i also downloaded & found this problem, please if you help on this will be of great helps. Hope to hear from you asap. Thank you in advance.
Hi thanks for your comment. I would recommend using the Form Based Date picker as the shape based pick may have issues in certain workbooks. Thanks for your patience.

Hi thanks so much. Yes I did see some issue with that (before it was working but the mail service is making some changes) Anyways I will get it fixed right away, but you can download the workbook directly from this link: bit.ly/3_Cal_WbDl
