macmost.com/e-3126 It is easy to add a drawing to a note in the Notes app on an iPhone or iPad. But what about on a Mac? You'll need to add a blank image first, but once you set it up the first time it is easy to add a drawing or sketch to any note.

It is beyond boggling that today's Macintosh doesn't even have the basic painting and drawing tools that the computer debuted with three decades ago. It's like someone at Apple was traumatized by MacPaint and decided that no one will ever get to use the program or one like it again. (Why doesn't Pages have basic paint and draw tools?)

When I want to make a file with white or any other colour fill using only apps included in MacOS I have been using Preview. I just open any existing image, copy it to the clipboard and close it, make a new file from clipboard, put white rectangle (or any other colour) on it, size it to it fill the whole image, adjust size to whatever I want and save it. I can also copy a photo in Photos and use that clipboard to create the new file in Preview instead of opening an existing image file.

This is really useful! Whenever I try to write/draw things in Markup, it always tries to correct it to a shape that I didn't want. Is there a way to disable this auto-correct?

Watch which tool you are using. One will try to snap to a shape, the other lets you sketch freehand.

Thanks again for all the work you do. Regarding the "add sketch" on the menu on Notes/mac, this command is greyed out. I have an ipad and iphone literally next to the mac and they are all signed into the same apple ID. I'm sure I'm missing something....THANK YOU

Perhaps you don't have things connected properly? Search the Apple site for tips on getting "Continuity" to work between the devices.

I don't think the Shortcut is convoluted at all. That's probably the way I will go. I've tried drawing with my trackpad and that's pretty tough.

Another great video Gary. Just one question though. Can the marked up content on the inserted file be modified later on (i.e. text field adjusted) or are those mark ups baked in to the file?

hello sir, this is off topic but i want your opinion about if it is okay to install new macos to older obsolete mac,,, there are a lot of tutorial here on youtube but i trust your advice so would you recommend it or not? i am using imac 27inch 2014. thanks in advance

Do you mean install a version of macOS on an old Mac that doesn't support it? Why? What is your goal in doing so?

@@macmost they were like using some sort of patch or something like that.. there is no security update for the software since its obsolete. so im kinda thinking installing a new one would be better

@@moniquecolan3917 So you just want to upgrade macOS so you have the latest security update? That’s not a good plan. You’d be using something somewhat insecure (an update patcher) to try to be more secure. Instead just keep it updated as far as it bbcan go and only download things from sites you absolutely trust and maintain vigilance.

Do you have any idea 'Shortcuts > Details > Run with : ... ' is often reset when I restart Mac it seems some library corrupted, So that automatically reset the file every time but I have no idea how to handle the problem 🥲
