This video is great! Thanks for putting this together. If I wanted to filter the case variables so that only options from certain case record types appeared, how would I do that? If we have 6 case record types, for example, I only want to allow two to be created through this flow--with their associated options.
Thank you Adam, love your videos. May I make a tiny suggestion: could you show the final demo at the top of the video so I can assess quickly if it's what I'm looking to achieve!?
That's really helpful, thank you!! I'm still struggling to see the whole picture, like how will the flow know this or that, and how do I specify it, so seeing examples with a live explanation helps a lot!
Glad it helps. I'm going to try and do a new 'Flow Basics' video soon, as it can be suprt hard to get your mind into you it all works and how to model things. It's basically coding but without code, if that makes sense, hence the constant references of variables, etc. IF you haven't already check out my Flow Basics from a while back, still relevant: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ujA1qQmneqg.html
Hi! Hoping you see this soon! Need help and this video helped a TON. i have one question. Why again did you mkae the record ID variable and connect it to account? I am making a screenflow in which i need to create cases and then eventually a report. Would I connect it to the case object?
Hi there, glad I've helped a bit. On your question I'd need to know a bit more detail, but in order to create a Case, you'll need the Account ID to create it so it will connect correctly, otherwise it will be a record floating around with no connection to an Account (Customer).
Hi Adam, new to SF here an getting ready for SF admin accreditation. I have been spending a lot of time on Flows. I understand the concept of Flows, their elements and sort of how they work. Where I am stuck is in how to create them, more specifically, the logic with fields, variables and so on. Where would be a good place to go for this? Thanks!!!!
Hey Adam. Maybe you can do a video on Picklists and Multi-picklists in Screen Flows. I have a flow with 4 screens and screen 1 uses 2 multi-picklists and screen 2 uses 4 multi-picklist and 1 picklist. It is pulling the values from SF but not populating those fields within Salesforce. I am stuck and any suggestions or guidance is mad appreciated. Even if I have to pay LOL.
Hello! So sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this. So you can (as of Winter 23) use a native Data Table where you can see lots of data and make multiple selections from a table. Storing the values from that table would be that same as for multiple picklists (or other fields on screens). Make sure you are creating a variable resource to store the values and then write them to a record (or whatever you plan to do with it after). Maybe give me a run down of the use case and maybe I could help. Cheers
Thank you for this! It helped me get past one place where I was stuck. Do you have any experience with SF's Contact Request Flow's? Is SF going to continue to use them or phase them out at some point? I'm trying to adjust one of our Contact Request Flows to add a custom field we need to the request. I've added the field in the object and to the screen in the CR flow. When I try to snag the Contact Request fields as a resource in the flow (like you show in the video) my custom field doesn't show up. I created an assignment and got the flow to update a record to include our custom field, but I can't figure out how to snag the ID from the Contact Request that was created in the Action that automatically comes with the CR. Anyway... if Contact Request flows are going away; I'll just start all over with a regular flow. If they are staying, can you point me in the right direction? I can't change the action in any significant way and I think I can get it to work if I can figure out how to snag the ID from the CR created in the action. I've been playing around with Get Records before my Assignment and Update records (those work) but can't get it to snag the newly created CR. Any help would be appreciated! Feel free to tell me to shove off if this is too specific a question for this format!
haha - no worries. Yes, that's a specific request and hard to tell without looking at it myself. I think what you're referring to is a template Flow from SF. I think you might have two options. 1. Clone the Flow - this might allow you to edit it and do what you want. 2. Start again from a new flow. Also, try seeing if at the end of the Get Element you see the option to store the ID form the record you find into a new variable. Hope it helps. :?
Great video! Unfortunately Salesforce file uploader limits you to 10 files at a time. Not sure if you ever found a work around to uploading more than 10 files at once.
Hi Janson. Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately no I've not come across a workaround. I think the limitation is also to do more with the bandwidth, cache and server performance. If there is a need to send more, then it might only be possible to run through the process again. Best of luck - let me know how it goes.
Not that I know of sorry. The glows all use the Salesforce platform, so either it's an Experience Cloud site (on Salesforce Platform) or the company website pushes a value into Salesforce to do something on it. Depends of course on your use case, but check out Web-To-Lead and Web-To-Case.
Hello! So if you skip to 10:47 in the video, and pause it, you'll see a property in the list called "Allow Multiple File" which you can just type and select TRUE for. That way it will allow the first bit of what you're asking. Regarding Metadata, that would be more difficult depending on what you mean. If you mean, the file name and file type? Then that's done automatically. If you mean setting specific information about the file then you'll need to first create some customer fields and then set those values in the flow with the assignment component. However, doing it dynamically (where you are referencing information from the file) would be incredibly difficult/not possible.
@@djamburere ah Portugal! I'm nearly a Portugese national (taken over two years for my Portuguese passport) as my mother is from Madeira. My brother has also moved to Lisbon. Looking forward to visiting there next month! ate logo!
