Is this the only way to add a goal line in excel? It is so easy in other programs like Minitab, but it is a pain the butt for excel. Why do I need an entire column just for a goal line. It makes sense if the goal is moving, but if it is static for the given time frame then it should be much easier to insert. I work with data that is 6-9000 data points a day. Over the course of a month I can have 250k data points. I have had to use another column for 250k rows just to show a static goal...

What if I select a few months at a time and would like the average for those. In this case depending on selection of months average value changes.
