I'll be up front - it would be much easier to buy a single USB port from a newer 'F' series cars, but I wanted to be different...

Trying to fit that outlet kinda makes ya want a 3D printer. Where I work we have many old German machines and parts can be really hard to find for us (in USA...) We had one cover that kept braking when making repairs or testing and got to the point where it cost more to buy it then the whole electric box to only grab the cover tossing the box. So we started 3D printing them and worked great it has a return on investment so good it paid for everything. Love the idea you have going to look in to doing it too.

How did you remove that part with the switches? I have problems with my top going up/down and need to check the switch and pinpoint the problem.

Bro you coulda just bought a usb charger that fits in the cigarette lighter. £10 boom no pissing about

I could have, but I specifically wanted to have the outlet in that location. Having the charger in the cigarette lighter is annoying because the wires get in the way of shifting.
