I'm at intermediate level in my playing. This is what I needed to take me to the next level! Thank you so much for all the invaluable knowledge you always sharing🙏
This was a great video that really summarizes how my playing has progressed over the years especially the last 2 years. As a self-taught piano/organ player, I firmly agree with you that a HUGE chunk of my progression boils down to the amount of experience I have playing for churches (almost 20 years). Learning theory is great and necessary, but I firmly believe learning songs plays a big role in progressing because there are many movements that you’ll learn. Those movements give you ideas that you can apply to your playing. Again, I did not learn a lot of theory in my early years of playing keys, but I’ve learned so many songs, and I’ve taken chord progressions from those songs to apply it to my playing. You’ve been a huge part of these last two years of progression for me. Thank you so much for your teaching!
I love u U are the best in teaching and playing But am still having a challenge on the chord to play on left hand when playing a melody of the song,,i mean, the next octave to play in the next beat as am playing melody.
I love reggae, it’s my culture. But to be honest, there’s not much to explain - the pianist in reggae have one of the easier task. The heart beat of reggae is the drum and bass; that’s where a lot of tutorials should focus on. Unfortunately I don’t play either of those instruments
@@ketelelomandozi4552 Thank you for the reminder it really is the best place, that's why my interests are intrigued to want to participate the training. Much respect💯
You have chosen one of my favorite songs. ❤ Jesus lives! ❤ I play it by ear with the Gaither Vocal Band chords for proper harmonization. It’s more complex than the beginner version you played. Bill Gaither wrote the song, and that’s what people know and love, so I have to do that if playing it in church and the audience joins in to sing it. I’m interested in fillers & runs, not in changing the chords. (I’m an advanced, classically trained pianist but also play by ear.) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nvPzZq7RmSQ.html
