Thank you! I have a Rivarossi Berkshire that my hobby shop but a LokSound in and I’m not the fan of the sounds they used. The locomotive is working at the moment so I’ll have to fix it, but still very helpful!
Hello, I’m new to DCC and decoders. I think i’m going to get a locomotive with DCC Loksound. I want to add radio chatter onto it. So how would I get the decoder hooked up to my pc to do this process? Do I put the engine on a track and connect it to the Pc?
The decoder is “blank” and requires downloading the appropriate DCC, sound, and lighting file using a LokProgrammer available separately (ESU53452). The file can be found on the locomotive Product Page under the Product Support tab. I think you might have to be on a PC to see them .I don't see the files from my phone.
Thanks for watching! I've tossed around a few ideas, but others have put out content that's more in depth than what I've covered. Highly suggest joining the "ESU Cab Control and Loksound Installations Group" on Facebook, there's some great content and ideas shared there.
That's cool! Actually I am already a member of that FB group as well. I do some crazy conversions though last week in that forum... I posted This🤪 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Lke5KUzwtrM.html I brought to life a GN SW1200. It had been sitting as a display on a guys desk for YEARS. He sold it to me on eBay and well... it lives. 😁 See yah around in the ESU forum. "Reg"
Hey man. I enjoy your videos. I have tried this twice now using Audacity and following all of your steps to a tee. The problem is, the particular sound that I added in wav format starts playing the second power is given to the locomotive. It also just loops constantly. No settings that I can find in the lokprogrammer seem to fix this. Any thoughts? Lets say i have it assigned to F6. I push F6, dont push F6 doesnt matter, the sound just starts as soon as track power is applied.
From how you described it, it might be checked to play in the random sounds options or when track power is applied. I would start there and give it another shot, or see where it's tied to in the sound tables. The method shown in the video plays the sound all the way through until you press the function again to stop it.
@@SCL3618 So I found the problem. All of the sound slots have a box that you can check and uncheck that is called "unlimited" When that is checked, it loops over and over again. Some sound slots, that box is default "unlimited" and the check mark is grayed out. In the end it worked.
hey, so I tried this out, and now only the sound that has been added works, all others such as engine sound and horn, dont work, I tried finagiling with it for a while and btw the volume settings were still the same as before, and couldn't figure it out. so I tried a CV8=8 reset, and its not doing anything at all, you know how to fix this kinda thing?
Follow these directions and added a sound now I don't have any other sounds except the one I added. Anybody know what I need to do to get the sounds back?
Check your volume settings. I've never had a decoder tank all sounds after adding, but anything is possible. When all else fails, CV8-8 to reset or try a fresh file.
Would love for you to do more Loksound tutorials. From basic right upto semi advanced stuff. For eg, i have a custom sound file that i want to add to a project. But i dont want mess with any motor settings etc.
@@SCL3618 I have the original sound file that Scale Trains sent me. I can forward the file to you if you want. You can request it from me at RACERAMX@GMAIL.COM. I think the answer to your question can be found in one of the ESU videos. The LokProgramer Function mapping one.
