A lot of beginners avoid adding figures into their watercolor paintings. They'll paint a lovely street scene, but it'll look like a ghost town with no people. One powerful way to create interest in your painting is to add elements of life. Figures, animals and other living things suggest a narrative and pique interest.
In today’s video, I give you TWO tips on how to fit figures into your scene with the right proportions. With this advice and short demo, I hope to lessen any intimidation you might feel about adding these signs of life.
The more and more you practice, the easier it gets. Watch my video and take the challenge to add some figures into your next painting. Do it once, repeat, and in no time, you’ll have gained a new skill!
I have a complete guide to all my supplies. Check it out here: www.learntopaintwatercolor.co...

I have placed my figures using that principle for a long time now. It's not by chance that the horizon line is also called the eye-level line; so, if it's not a high or low angle view (the viewer looking at the scene from below or from above, respectively), the horizon line will coincide with the viewers eye level and with the eye level (roughly the level of the head) of most of the figures.

I love your videos. You're voice is so calming and the information so clear. Thank you. I would love to hear you talk about how to find a balance between overworking and underworking. Summertimes I think all the talk about overworking instills some fear.

Hello master. Let me thank you for another useful lesson. Resolve the question. All masters say that all drawing components are important - paper, paints, brushes, but do you think it is possible to draw beautifully with ordinary components? And if possible, could you show it. Thank you in advance.
