How to Add Highlights on Instagram Without Adding to Story (2022 Hack)

Instagram isn't something that you can hack and still have relevant followers. With instagram and business in general its about building slowly and keeping good rapport with your followers and customers.
But what if you don't want anyone to see the new post and you just want it to appear in Story highlight but not in Instagram Story as a new post?
There is an option in the settings for that. Inside of Instagram settings and privacy, you can limit who sees your Instagram Story posts. You can simply check all your followers here, post to Story, and then add that to Story Highlights.

Right. I don’t see why they don’t have an option for that. The only other option I found was hiding your story, but you have to individually select each one which is also stupid. They need to make an update for hiding all followers without individually selecting each, because when I try to do was hide all story and then upload it to the highlights but you can’t do that because you have to individually select each person that you want to hide which sucks.

Why does instagram make all of this so hard and not just resolve this issue, this has been a problem for ages. You should easily just be able to change your story highlight covers like changing a profile pic. Like come on! 😂🤔🤦🏼‍♂️

The thing is that lot of times, the hide story from panel doesn't show all your followers so a lot of people end up seeing that story anyway

I think it's better to delete the story and set a timer that allows you to be on Instagram at like 5 min to 24 h or something and just restore the story and there barely someone will see it

You can only do like 50 at a time , so do like 50 followers and then wait a min and then do the next 50 and so on

so helpful. can ANYONE please help- HOW do i change my story privacy settings (after it’s been posted and added to highlights) from my close friends to public again? i’ve recently only ever decided to make one story close friends only, now when i try to change the specific story to public, it doesn’t let me! the only option i have is to deselect all my close friends, and then no one can see the story except me. i can’t find answers anywhere, can this not be changed? it seems like it would be able to be done the same as what you did but my story doesn’t go back to all friends when i deselect the close friends.

I think i found out a way to do that so basically uu have to post your story and delete it and then u will have 30 days to restore it if u do it after 24 h u will find it already in the archive and i think that's itt uu should try it donow why ppl making it so hard while it's piecefcake

I don't get it. Once I have waited 24 hours and I remove the people that were hidden from seeing my story, they can still see the story. I thought this would allow me to keep that story completely hidden within that highlight section. For example, the highlight icon could be a pic of a camera, but when you click on the highlight, that pic of the camera won't show up. I have seen this done before on other accounts.

Yes this works but then you won’t be able to see who views the highlight from the friends you hide it from. They can view it still but you won’t see their name when they view it. Only people that weren’t hidden or new followers will show up as people who viewed it.

Stories is more day to day stuff whilst highlights is stuff that are more important or feel as though it shouldn’t be put on your story so highlights can be a staple story that can be repeat played?

Fun fact: you can make an story and hide from everyone and when 24 hours pass you can allow from the story settings that everyone can see your story and then you put it on Highlights😉😉😉

If I use the "close friends" method, and later moved the story to my highlight, does the privacy stay in "close friends" or can everyone now see my highlight stories?
