Hikvision NVRs are mainly compatible with Hikvision cameras. If you have a different brand with Onvif protocol it may not be compatible with hikvision.

Hello, You need to look at two things. 1. You need to check if your recorder is online. You can check it by going to the local menu of your recorder. From Network you can see if your recorder is online or not. 2. If your recorder is online, then you might need to disable your anti virus on your computer for a short time

No, Brand new cameras dont have any password. When you connect it first time to NVR it will take the password from the NVR, or if you connect it to a POE switch, you need to create a password.
