Yes you are right about extending the boom and bucket out. It takes all the pressure out of the hydraulics. Of you blow a hose, you can do the same thing and won't lose as much fluid. I just learned that yesterday! I blew a hose to a rock breaker but never used this machine before so had to look up where the hydraulic well is. Thanks for the video!

TB016. Trying to change return line 10mm black plastic to drive motor. Dead sloppy with oil coming out line so want to drain 25l / 6 gal tank. Removed TWO bolts underneath (going by useless sketch in manual) , nothing coming out. Measured oil in tank -- 8" / 200mm deep. ????

The drain plug is directly under the tank, same huge size as filler plug on top. Impossible to get tub underneath so used crap electric pump which only took an hour to drain 10 litres 😁😁. The drain line 10mm black plasticky is ref 15321-20800. Has short 'sleeve' at either end that serves as compression olive. 50$ with shipping from Brandonland to France. No, I can't find in Europe. Maybe will try Motor Heads Japan where I got equally evasive engine drain tube £50 delivered, cheaper than the tube alone from Germany.

@@DiyCommerce : Tell that to the guy who tightened mine previously. I recently purchased a used TB290 and blew 2 of the swing-boom hoses yesterday from dropping a 3000 lb piece of concrete. Anyway, I wasn't exactly sure where the fill hole was so I got here. Anyway again... I had to get my 24" Crescent Wrench to loosen it cause it was on so tight.

You call it a plug hole, I call it a filler hole, Takeuchi call it a vent hole. I understand that when filling, the position is cylinders contracted/ working bits extended. The manual for TB016 is not clear, but when the sight level shows correct you have to pressurize before replacing (Or at least tightening) the plug/filler/vent plug. The pressurisation position is now the reverse: cylinders extended/ working bits contracted up in the air like a flamingo. Turn engine off in this position, set safety lock on and tighten the plug. The the manual says, and this is the last thing it says: "..then pressurize." Huh?? There is no pressure release mechanism like in the machine in the video, so if anyone can help I'd much appreciate it. Thanks!
