A thing I used to do on old electronics VCR’s and such before chips and all that came along was to take em apart and strip all the wires springs and screws out of them. I used to get lots of wires for plug wires, boots and hoses that way! Thank ya for the video’s a great thing your doing!

Im excited with you! I've never done engine detail before. TBH, I'm not a "display the model with the hood open" kind of guy, so unless the engine is required to mount the front axle and wheels in place, I don't mess with it. But I'm working on some post-apocalyptic cars without hoods right now. And cars don't run without engines. They also don't run if the engines aren't hooked up to anything lol. And while some of this looks like it could be tedious and frustrating, this kind of thing is amazing for somebody with ADHD. Being able to hyper focus on just one thing for hours on end is very relaxing to an overactive mind.

Hey there, I know this is an old video but for lining up tiny parts like that photo etch linkage, I keep pieces of styrofoam from electronics purchases and I have some super thin 00 insect pins I use to hold them. I would use the guitar wire to poke holes in the styrofoam, take it back out and put the photo etch on the wire. Put the wire back in the holes and then use tweezers to arrange the photo etch. Once I get on where I want it I pin it with the insect pins so it will stay still and glue it with some glue on a needle. Then wok to line the second one to match. Pin it down and glue it as well. then take the whole assembly off the styrofoam and glue it to the carbs. Love your channel. Take care.

Guitar strings is a brilliant idea! I just got a $7 set on the Amazon. I would recommend to select a thicker set and “Plain third” or “Unwound third” because I think the wound strings will be less useful and when they are useful it’s the thicker ones that are better. I think. Electric guitar strings seem to usually have not wound third or G string. Also, nickel or stainless color may look better than bronze yellowish color.

The bowls are out of scale. My tunnel ram on my car actually has space between the DP holleys. If I switched to a single dominator I would lose too much of the driveability so I used 2 in line 600 dp's. I'm building a 70 Chevelle SS for my mom to give my dad for their 50th Anniversary. They met at the track the year he won the NHRA presidents cup. I'm not really a scale car builder as much as a plane and tank builder but I have built around 60-70 cars. I always skipped detailing the engines.
