In this video, Kerry Lord covers how to add chain loops on to the surface of your fabric, which is often used for fleecing your project, or adding a mane or tail.
This video forms part of a series that accompany the Edward’s Crochet range of amigurumi kits, patterns and books to help you make her popular collections of animals, birds, monsters and dolls. Whether you’re a complete beginner, or a TOFT fan looking to further your crochet skills, these videos are suitable for all ages and abilities.

You are the greatest, your Book is so clear that i have never had a Book clear as that. I never had the need to watch but the Mane of the Lion is what i didnt get qjite right but after seeing you leaving a gap of 2 i felt so relieved and will keep on going. Thank you so much. My next Book will be the Ocean and then the Dolls and so on and on🥰🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸

First off, I would like to say how much joy your books have bought both me and the proud owners of the animals that I have made ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️, thank you 🙏!!! I was hoping that this video would have shown more than just 2 ‘chain loop stitches’ as I am currently making Quinn the Alpaca 🦙, and I’m having trouble visualising the stitch working to give him his fleece.

Thank you for your lovely comment. We recommend leaving the base of the body (around the legs) free of fleece so your finished Alpaca can sit up nicely. You can see lots more videos about fleecing and close ups of our sheep demos on our Instagram IGTV. If you would like any help specifically on Quinn then please email us at help@toftuk.com and we can send you some photos of our demos to helps. Best wishes, Beth - Toft Team

Could you do a video for the Bridget the Elephant tail. I’ve just made her and the tail really confused me so I kind of just made up a different one. Loving all the patterns so far though in the Edwards Menagerie book 😀 xx

Hi Kerry, for Douglas the Highland Cow's topknot, the pattern says 'work a fringe between the ears with two rows of ch10 hair loops', the video explains the stitch really well but I dont know which stitches to sow the chains into. Should it be kind of random but across two rows or should i be going into stitches 2 apart along a row for two rows? Thanks!
