I feel like that pump is causing you trouble. I would rather use sandbags so I can turn it down lower. And no matter what I hook it up to I'll always have a ball valve in case, it's always good for safety too.

The company I purchased it from shut down at the beginning of covid. Luckily I purchased 3 double burner stove and a single burner stove before they closed. I might consider selling 2 of them
