Set the lock nut 1" below the spring perch and turn the perch until they just contact, then tighten the lock nut. no need to count turns or loose the starting point. measure the gap between perch and lock nut to 1" then drop the perch.

Hi, I have WA1 TCI 450lbs I’d adjusted to the max But still could use 1.5” higher Yet other mam from my club has same car and shocks and set worked good Should I get 500 springs ? Would it help ? Car is light mid engine on tubular chassis . Or is there a spacer I can put inside the seat ,

question for a 69 chevelle, how far up the shock is too far? I have 18 threads showing below spring perch. I need at least another 1" of ride height.

I have a 1968 Ford Torino 390 4 speed. I bought the car new and always liked the car setting higher than stock. At one time I used ball joint spacer blocks to help improve the front height. I used Delco air shocks on the rear which are still working, believe it or not. They have lasted a long time. Stock leaf springs on the rear and one Spring Spacer or Knuckle Buster as they call them on each side of the front. Could I replace all the old stuff with coil over shocks and springs while keeping the car setting a little higher than stock? Pretty much a driver now.

Anti-Seize - What do you recommend to use?

Is it safe to assume that if I wanted to raise the rear I would do the opposite of what you did in the video?
@QA1TECH
@QA1TECH 11 месяцев назад
Yes and no. It all depends on the setup. Raising your spring too high could result in some other issues. We do offer different length shocks to help with raising the ride height as well. I would recommend calling our tech team for some recommendations! 952-985-5675 or Sales@QA1.net

Ummmm I think according to the install instructions I was directed to install the thrust bearing kit between the locking ring and the adjustment collar? You have it on top of the adjustment collar???
@QA1TECH
@QA1TECH Год назад
It should say to install them on top of the adjustment collar. There are pictures on page 2 of this installation guide. www.qa1.net/assets/uploads/documents/intallation_guides/9919-173_REV_Pro_Coil_1.pdf

So I lowered mine yesterday, because I wanted to lower one side. It seems to be higher for some reason. But the tension went away and there was play in the spring, is this normal? Or should I tighten it (spring load) and just lock it back in. I know once the car is dropped, then that adds compression as well. I just didn't want to lock it back in with the spring being loose, if that makes sense.
@QA1TECH
@QA1TECH 9 месяцев назад
It's not abnormal to have slack in the spring when the ride height is adjusted to the lower end of the ride height range. Just be careful that the shock isn't adjusted too low that you'd risk bottoming out. If more help is needed, please call our tech line at 952-985-5675 or email them at Sales@QA1.net

Why can you order shocks with either 1 or 2 adjustment knobs on your shocks? And how do I chose what is best for my application?
@QA1TECH
@QA1TECH 3 года назад
The single adjustable shock is the one that comes with the single adjustment knob. That shock adjusts your compression and rebound simultaneously. Our double adjustable shock has two knobs to allow you to adjust your compression and rebound independently allowing you to really dial in your ride quality. If your vehicle is mainly going to be a streetcar, the single adjustables are the best bang for your buck! If you are looking to build a more series street/strip car with emphasis on 'strip', you would want to look at our double adjustable shocks.

Next do a clip on how to use the coil overs and corner scales to get the suspension set up correctly. Front to rear balance and cross weights

Our 78-96 GM B-Body rear coil-over kit will provide a 2.25" drop. All of our other coil-over kits will lower up to 2".

If I swap out a 750 spring with a 650, would it lower the stance of my truck because of the lower spring rate? Or is the lighter spring also slightly longer to compensate for compression? I have the spring adjusted as far down as it will go, but would still like to get the truck about a half inch lower. Please let me know if a lower spring rate coil spring would achieve that. Thanks in advance!!!
@QA1TECH
@QA1TECH 3 года назад
All of our coil-overs allow up to 2" of drop. A lower spring rate will not change that. If you want to lower the car more, you may have to look at drop spindles. Give us a call! 952-985-5675
@codyblack5490
@codyblack5490 6 месяцев назад
@QA1TECH ?. If the spring length is the same and you lower the spring rate only it will lower the vehicle.. 100lb rate vs 200lb rate. It's compression is 1 inch per 100lb 2000lb vehicle. Is going to compress a 100lb spring more then a 200lb spring. Do the math. Yes it will change the ride quality. Misleading
@pjt-kl7mb

QA1 guys never explain step by step ,you never show us how much lowering you can go or how many inches you lowered. It's hard to find videos from you guys explaining a 100%

You forgot the anti seize. If it were going up, or raising ride height it probably would have destroyed the shock body.... You said it.....just didn’t do it.
