i did this to my draughty windows immediately after watching this and my windows are now draft free 👍👍 thankyou , i have had problems since windows fitted 10 years ago and your video has solved it.... even the so called technicians didnt know this!! i am in your debt... thankyou so much 🙏 i shall be sharing this tip with other residents who have the same issue 👍👍
@@cardiffpicker1 unfortunately the ones who worked for guiness northern counties maintenance team sadly didnt ,not one of them! i did it myself and sorted it in a few mins ..
@@cardiffpicker1 your completely right , these are 'jack of all trades master of none ' but thankfully i saw this video post , so simple a fix too, its shocking they didnt know ....
Just amazing, thank you so much, just moved into a house with major draughts coming through the doors, sorted in just a couple of minutes. Rooms are now warmer, and less noise coming from outside too. Thank you thank you 😁
This video was certainly an eye opener. I never knew I could do this. Anyway I'm stood outside in the wind and rain at 23:00 doing exactly this. I so hope it works hahahaha. Great video. 👍
Had a draught coming in through the front door of our new-build house which was bugging me. Then I came across this. Problem solved in 10 seconds! Many thanks for posting this
Thank you so much for this video. I cannot wait to try this out. There is so much cold air that literally blows through the windows in some of my rooms. Praying this works.. will let you know how I get on 🙏👌👍
Update: This worked a treat on some of the windows.. there were a couple of windows where the seals had gone too.. but yes all in all this worked great.. thank you so much 😊
very useful video i live in rented property and the windows were fitted very badly huge voids around the actual frames which made a kazoo sound when windy which would keep me awake so i tookmof the internal strip and filled with expanding which stopped most ofbtge noise but then the windiws had draughts and is not a great seal when closed i could put a credit card between the gap and it would slide about so this may just be the answer to a warmer draught free winter ..... so thankyou for video post 🙏
Some of you are adjusting doors but only on lock-in side on the hinge side there are ways of adjusting pressure on the seal .without seeing the hinge there are various ways to adjust the gasket pressure .nomally the hinges have the ability to rotate hinge pin to at least four positions.points of compass n s e west ie pressure on north pressure or south east or west puts pin to left or right .up and down with adjustment with Allen key but may vary. If your.door has dropped it has been incorrectly glazed another subject .
I have strange problem with one of those 3 things that you have tight. Bottom one is not locking there is gap between last one and that metal thing where she should fit behinde? Can you help me. I will send images if you need thanks.
Interesting tip but to me it didn’t look to make a lot of difference. But maybe it is only fractions after all. I didn’t know these things could be turned so that’s something I’ve learned.
I found my problem the white flat strip that goes around the inside of the window is buzzing from air getting past it, I’ll get some sealant tomorrow for it lol
Where do these guys come from your demonstration was on a tilt and turn window which open inwards on espangulett mechanism which locks in eight positions around frame.what about adjusting the other five sealing points. Could have givendemonstration on a normal casementopen out window
Yes that is exactly my problem too. Every window I have is not tight on the inside/hinge side. I already adjusted the other side but hinge side is still drafty.
What can we do when it doesn't seal properly even in the tightest setting? On windy days I can hear the wind whistling through the balcony door. The rubber sealings look good but I can see some dust where the wind can blow through because there is about a half millimeter space left between the rubber and the door frame.
Anyone have any ideas what to do if they don't have Allen key holes? MIne look exactly the same, has the roller cams, but don't have the Allen key slot. Just flat metal? Are they non adjustable then?
NEED WINTER AND SUMMER MOD!!! Set it up to work easily and you're done, on winter, and summer. It won't get better if you stretch it out and it can't be closed. It doesn't insulate better. It is nonsens! A Window fitter. ; )
